Hi everyone
Paul expects the ETS carbon price to reach your age, Lovely?
Do that make him expectant?
For Jay,
What is the EU ETS carbon price?
The benchmark EU carbon permit contract traded as high as 97.50 euros per tonne on Friday before ending the day at 96.43 euros, the highest close since the carbon market launched in 2005.
The news is good everywhere except in my filtered posts perhaps!
Please tell me if Greyfriars reaches puberty and admits he is wrong one day, not too soonI;d guess!
Jay, I thought 1987 was when Bunter last got his leg over!
I smiled when you told us your name - I was replying to Jonah with the title Jason - you must have thought I was so intuitive to have worked that out! Instead of that you now know the truth!
There is little doubt about the doubters on here - they want to price to stay low for some reason.
Perhaps a rich relative has a terminal disease and they hope to benefit in the will?
Or there decree abolute is due and they'll get their share of their assets?
Or they'll get out of jail soon and be able to do another bank job, if they can find a bank in their town?
There are no conspiracy theorists on here - there is only the ONE!!!! And he is an idiot!
Hahaha Greyfriars - I wish I had Dactions fiscal knowledge!
Ahh I am the best aswell !! Nooo.. £85 a hour is rediculous ..
No Brad, you didn't give your age, but there was an assumption you knew mine as you said you were 15 years older than me! Today's conundrum!
I wish I knew a good electrician, sorry Jay - you prob get sick of peeps saying that. Two never turned up and another wanted £85 an hour and wouldn't give me a set price on fitting two ceiling shades and my tv to the wall! boo hoo.
Got my middle girls age wrong hahaha she is 7 now hahaha … Birthday 2 weeks ago
Have I given my age then? You also told us you are a grandma!
I have 4 grandkids (at least) , I am sure of 4!
The youngest is a Karate black belt since the age of mybe 11 or 12 and is moving up the dans.
He must be about 19 now? Not seen him or the others since Liz's funeral. Covid lockdown is partially only responsible.
He is a bit of a hero for me , 4 lads in their late teens , threatened a complete stranger who was quite young in trying to take his fancy loud-speaker thingy off him! Kieran aged about 14 or 15 intervened and the boy was able to keep his thingy! The following weekend police were looking for 4 lads so it was not a one off.
I knew they were going to hit me, he told me, but I could not let them get away with it.
He ended up with one or both black eyes but was fine when I saw him! He never said if he fought back, and I thought it impolite to ask. But his Dad (also a black belt) said in Karate you train yourself to expect and ignore pain from the very beginning!
Do you get the impression I am bored now the football season is over :O)
Haha you lot are a bunch of conspiracy theorists. I am definitely my own person. Jay .. real name Jason .. getting married in October. Have 3 children, girl 11.. girl 6 and baby boy who turned 2 yesterday. Also I am a electrician and I’ll let you guess my age by my year in my username …This is so much more entertainment than I was ever expecting when I joined an investment chat hahahaha brilliant .
Jay, Greyfriars could think that way because he is BC100 here and Odillon over on ADVFN!
I suspect BC100 is also over there because odillon is gettin ticks for every post he makes!
Like here, just the 1 tick!
All 4 are probably the same moron in fact! They might as well cut and paste posts from here and save some time! The same rubbish! I just went onto ADVFN to see the trade numbers which look like buys to me but are reported as sells!
It is unusual for the price to rise 2.56% when there are apparently loads of sells!
The top end of the spread at 6p is too high! Reduce it to 5.9p and it would make more sense with 5.899 being a buy which it surely is imho?
Sorry you have to put up with the clown on here - I suggest you filter him.
Would I keep rewording posts for the fun of it? Not a chance!
I noticed Odillon posted a link to a Paul Dolan interview!
It must the redundant August one with the financial lady because he referred to Federico being in charge of timber and certificates!!!! Federico was on his way out by the time I first heard of Woodbois .... if you want to retaliate on Greyfriars stupid claim - accuse Federico of being Greyfrars that would make sense and explain why the fool is so bitter and I'll tick your post!
As nutty as a fruitcake - but you do make me chuckle Brad! :D
I didn't watch LOTSW either - but as suspected, my mum loved it. Obv I would see bits of it, but not really my bag. Blimey - you've worked out my age, or I gave it away somehow?? Not bothered but it's easy to see how you can give away info on the net without properly realising it. Yes, my mum was pretty. :D
I am definitely not Also known as bradsmith… I am new to investing and hardly understand anything you guys talk about
BC100 is not filtered , just Greyfriars!
BC100 has not posted since Friday.
Greyfriars has posted 8 times since then!
Jekyl resting , Hyde has taken over perhaps?
Has BC started to realise the possibility that he is wrong?
Talk of Norway being frightened of their certificates needing to be refunded is a joke!
That have paid Gabon £17m or is it £19m already. It is a rat race to offset their heavy carbon production before the rest of the world get there first! The price is expected to rise dramatically because of the supply and demand shortages - the sooner they get in the better and cheaper!
Discounts are low in their priorities - the full 2022 price is going to be a discounted 2023 price!
Both parties will know that refunds can be claimed from the buyer or the seller of certificates!
As I have said before, Gabon is claimed to be one of the fastest places on earth for new growth, the climate is perfect, the Govt are fullt supportive! Companies lucky enough to be foresting in Gabon are in pole position! Woodbois are , and Mozambique will benefit tomorrow from the profits made today in Gabon.
I am looking for the downside if WBI put a contingency percentage on the certificates to guarantee they can achieve their numbers quoted.
If they produce MORE credits than expected they will be money in the bank surely?
Instead of selling them early at lowish prices, they will be able to sell them later at higher prices? i.e. they will replay the loan on certificates with fewer actual credits?
It is difficult to word these things! I hope it makes sense!
It looks like an argument for issuing certificates at the pessimistic end of the scale in order to profit from the reality at a later date whilst securing both parties from refunds!
PS Two more filtered posts! I was 15 when you were born Lovely! I am old enough to be your father? Was your mum pretty? :O)
Boy oh boy, Lovely, yes I am too young to watch LOTSW. I must be, because it is not a programme I watched and neither did I watch Where the heart is.
I was aware of them but Liz never watched them so neither did I. She was big fan of Heartbeat - the music was good and I thought Gina was easy on the eye so I watched that one!
I took the taxi job after I lost my job in London (the company effectively shut down).
I had a flat in London and the family home in Dorset , both mortgaged, and no income! So the flat, my intended pension scheme, had to be sold!
I was building a web site so was happy enough until the money was getting short.
The flat sale paid off the Dorset mortgage too which means my awful pensions just about cover my expenses.
I was refused benefits because I owned two properties. I signed on to keep my pension contributions up to date!
My private pension contribution went into the London mortgage !
After a few months of signing on they said I qualified for a back to work bonus!
If I earned less than 15k pa they would give me £60 per week tax free for a year!
Self employed taxi driving made £15k a formality and after years of paying corporation tax and higher rate tax I felt obliged to take those £60's!!!!
I intended to pack it in after a year but I enjoyed it more than I expected!
I met Edward Woodward, Michelle Dotrice , Corinne Redgrave , Eddie Howe , Adam Lallana, David Horowich (author Anthony's actor brother) and others! The other cab picked up Alison Steadman , one of my all time favourites since Nuts in May, when I picked up David! I knew him from his days as a police inspector in Miss Marple - a very modest , pleasant , man so it was fine.
Short week this week - I thought today was spring bank holiday so was surprised to see trading!
WBI looks a better investment than TLOU to me if , as seems likely , we will multibag on price rises wuth our certificates! Cannot wait for our first RNS saying we have signed up a conglomerate!
If the price rises for credits/certificates we won't multibag as many times in a few years!
But deep joy! We will get a better price for our certificates when we need the cash!
Woodbois looks to be a win - win to me.
Stop scratching your heads folks!
10 times is 1000% , 6 times is 600% - Ronald Brown was being very sensible so his so-called hoax is even more credible than I believed!
$10 to $60 is 600%!
I think $60 was $84 during the week for 840% before we get started!
The message is the same despite my error!
Thank heavens for you Dactions. Mark Carney is instrumental in the whole process, Michael or Paul said that explicitly!
What are you views on the mechanics of advanced credits - I cannot get my head around one point. Look away Jay, this is not bad news on your investment, it is my Systems Analyticl brain seeking an answer or a clue towards the answer! I need a mental picture nowadays because my short term memory is not what it was!
The background is easily described. (Go away filtered ones!).
Conglomerates will receive carbon credits soon after their plots are certificated.
Depending on the type of agreement, if the carbon deposits do not materialise then either the conglomerate or the body issuing the certificate will be liable for refunding the shortfall!
I hope Woodbois can arrange the former by providing excellent certification that our partners will believe. It might take longer?
The other hope is our expertise means the certificate will be 110% safe from shortfalls.
Until the certificate can be scrapped in favour of factual credits the money being accrued is paid in anticipation of real credits.
There may be an adjustment between the number of credits due to certification AND the reality!
Hopefully we produce more than expected but who knows which way it will fall.
Now my conundrums!
1. I assume the number of credits will be adjusted from time to time as the plot is reviewed in the light of experience. Shortfalls or excesses might therefore be catered for?
2. This my major query!
The money is effectively a loan secured against real credits which become payable with little grief from that day forward!
How is that loan repaid?
Will actual credits offset the loan , credit by credit , until enough free credits cover the loan.
I think this must be so.
But will it be based upon
a) Credit for Credit so x credits for x credits?
or
b) The amount of money to be refunded being reduced by the value of new credits?
$10 may be paid the certificates , but true credits might be worth $100!
So (a) will repay 10 times what was received and (b) means a tenth of the total number of certificates will suffice?
I think I might have answered my own question!
Only (b) makes sense! Given my figures of 10 and 100 we will multibag 10 times the conversion from certificates to credits.
Far from being a hoax, Ronald Brown , was being conservative 1000% and 2000% look to be a formality!
Paul expects $60 to be coming on voluntary credits which , from $10 is 6000%
I was happy before, I am ecstatic now I have what looks to be the ful mental picture!
Now I have to ponder how that reflects upon the Hydrogen business!
Hydrogen may not happen - Woodbois will! No wonder Paul appointed Federico!
That changed because our focus moved to Gabon alone for the short to medium term when Gabon received their Norwegian pot. Jigsaw complete.
Thank you Dactions - a very uplifting post.
Brad: My Last of the Summer Wine comment was a playful post re you and your filterees. You'd probably have a beer and a laugh in real life, but sometimes the typed word can get a little verbose and lost in intention.
I've come to the conclusion that certain posters have their own agendas re WBI and I no longer want to read their comments. Their constant negative gripes about carbon credits are simply staggering. You don't need too much knowledge on the subject to realise carbon sequestration is more easily done by simply growing trees.
The government of Gabon was present at COP26 last November alongside WoodBois. Note the word alongside. At Davros last week a heavyweight panel (inc. Mark Carney) discussed the establishment of the Voluntary Carbon Credits market - this is happening now and is going to get ever stronger and WoodBois is going to be a part of it. Such developments offer the chance for very big gains - yes it requires some luck on when it will happen and by how big the growth will be. But one fact remains WoodBois is there right now.
BC100 and Greyfriars [Filtered]
fare! I thought it looked wrong when I wrote it! Old age is creeping up on me.
Morning Lovely, hope you are well.
You have demonstrated the downside of filtering. I don't lnow who or what prompted your post.
What you have done is remind me of a memorable event in my time as a taxi driver.
At midnight, I was sent to Poole Yacht Club to pick up a fair.
It looked to be a hoax until a gorgeous Custims officer arrived m dressed in full uniform like Richard Gere in Officer/Gentleman. I gave here a lift to the Customs Shed where my passengers were!
They had their car impounded because they could not pay the "duty" due on the contents!
A friend was going to collect then bext day and they wanted a hotel!
£20 later we had not found one with a room.
I proposed we go to Bournemouth where there are hotels everywhere!
They said, you may as well drive us home! They'd been quoted £300 to YORKSHIRE!
My wife needed my car to get to work and hers was being serviced at a garage!
I cannot believe I did this! We drove to the taxi base , I gave one of them my car keys, and he followed me to my home where we parked it for Liz and off we went!
I trusted the guy for some reason despite his dodgy story back in Poole.
He did not have a deposit even! He said we;d need to stop at an ATM to get £100 and he had £200 in cash at his house!
We dropped his mate in Fartown, Huddersfield! And then we arrived in Holmfirth at an ATM.
I was facing Compo's fish and chip while he got the £100. He said it had been sold for a million quid!
Next we went through Slaithwaite, (Where the Heart is), pronounced Slough-It, before going up one of the steepest lanes I have ever driven up!
He had a farmhouse at the top! In the middle of nowhere! He lived up to expectations and produced the £200 and I had the longest drive of my life home! Double vision and I think I fell asleep on the M1? Whether someone woke me by tooting their horn I don't know BUT I looked in the rear view mirror and there was a car in all lanes driving alongside each other behind me!
I wondered if I was drifting across lanes and they were waiting for me to crash?
I called Liz before 6am and told her I was somewhere near Barnsley. She wondered where on earth I was because the car was outside and I was nowhere to be seen!
I got back around 10am.
My kids told me that my social skills improved during my time as a taxi driver. Stories like that don't happen in an office with a VDU I suppose?
They put their diving equipment in the boot of the taxi, and the Police could find the owner of their car, so I did have some security. If he'd driven off in my car and left his mate with me it would have been insane! The guy from Huddersfield said he was only a travelling companion and did not know him until they met up to start the trip! He was a diving instructor as far as I can remember.
I think you may be too young to remember Last of the Summer Wine.... :O
Hiya Jay, I have not replied to anything since my previous post because all messages, except yours of course, are filtered and I have not read any of them.
I will be proved right or wrong before long. Until then I am happy that I tried to explain my point of view to the best of my ability. I have tried to do thesame on TLOU and was going to post occassionally on here as I build my holdings. But VC and Billy Bunter (Greyfriars) are even dopier that my Moriarty equivalent on TLOU! He despises the fact that their CEO has had 2 major successes and says Botswana has better potential than the previous 2 (in Oz).
And Bunter us being as scathing about Michael Floyd on here for no good reason!
The similarities are so great twixt the two bigots. But Bunter does not write in the same style or on the right boards to be mrmoagi on TLOU. xxxxxx means nothing to me either!
If I said Mohommed Ali was the best two eyed boxer the world has ever seen - Bunter would discuss whether he has two eyes no doubt? Billy Bunter was a pupil at Greyfriars school!
If that is what you don't understand.
Wiki describes him as follows - Greyfriars to a T!
"Bunter's defining characteristics are his greediness and overweight appearance. His character is, in many respects, that of a highly obnoxious anti-hero. As well as his gluttony, he is obtuse, lazy, ******, nosy, deceitful, slothful, self-important and conceited. These defects, however, are not recognised by Bunter. In his own mind, he is an exemplary character: handsome, talented and aristocratic; and he dismisses most of those around him as "beasts"."
The unseen footage of the Queen's personal family videos on BBC is recommended if you have time for her. I loved the whole thing!
Don't expect me to respond to anything the schoolboy writes on here! Lord of the Flies awaits his next role as another Piggy,he has a happier ending imho.
Who is xxxxxx. I haven’t got a clue what is going on in this chat .. and Brad hasn’t replied which I am surprised about. Can someone explain what is actually happening here ?
