Omicron risk looks overblown. Christmas and New Year festivities are on.
Means alcoholic beverages.
Up 8% this morning, so far.
It will be interesting to see if we face the same issues obtaining stock that Naked Wines has declared, or if their problems push customers our way.
Though I note they have increased their inventory up 50% from last years levels, so it may have just been skewed reporting.
The policy of selling by case only could be inhibiting. Punters are wine savvy these days and might want more flexibility. There’s a mass of fierce competition out there.
I would be grateful if someone would explain the RNS today regarding the notification which appears to have had an impact on the share price . Thanks
Do my eyes deceive me? Who the hell is investing these crazy amounts? Good, mind you.
Good set of figures today too to reinforce lofty target.
This is a screaming buy at £2 a share.
With heavy advertising from Laithwaites currently, do you think this will lose us customers, or get more customers into the habit of buying their wine online/monthly?
informer, I believe in this company. Especially because of Brexit. Where we used to find decent wines on supermarket shelves, that will soon change once they are sold off and we'll import over-priced plonk diluted with acids and made tasty by adding sugars. At least Virgin Wines has provided a standard of high quality for 20 years and I look forward to VINO expanding into new beers and spirits.
thanks a lot Toonman and Mousekewitz
informer365 this is what I could find on their website. The share holder infos are still a bit hidden on there and you have to scroll down quite a lot to get to any numbers. Hope this helps for now: https://wp-virginwines-2021.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/media/2021/01/25122243/Virgin-Wines-UK-plc-Admission-Document.pdf
informer365 - In the near future VINO will provide the market with some financial information on how it is trading. At that point private investors will know what we have here and we will have some sort of metric to value the shares. As of now the institutional shareholders who bought into the flotation will know a lot more than anyone else. Given the strange world we have lived in for the last year or so I would be surprised if an online wine supplier like VINO has not traded well. In fact they could not have had a successful flotation on the stock market (it was heavily oversubscribed) if they had not been trading well.
I tend to seek out newly floated companies as they tend to be undervalued. I hasten to add that there are occasions when that is not the case and I am not ramping! Good luck!
Has anyone actually done some DD on this stock to see if it's fair price?
Or is this a 'good story' stock?
Disclaimer: I haven't done any DD, feeling lazy, hoping someone has so i can see their bull/bear arguments.
Thanks!
Hello GazJJ :-) glad you're here. I think this stock hasn't been discovered by many, yet.
Bobscallywag, apart from BBQs, I have the feeling we may also experience a revival of holidays on our British Beaches and lots of Jolly Boys Outings :-)
Picked up 450 just now, think plenty of people will be organising bbq and small parties this year, especially those who have all had a jab or two.
Still be alot of people not going on holiday or to pubs and restaurants till back end of year.
Hopefully increased buying by companies for employees, once staff start returning to offices etc at back end of year.
Hello All. Newbie on here having unashamedly followed Mousekewitz from AMGO. Small holding to start with but the RNS this morning seems positive, hopefully I got in at the right time.
Well, himace, that's my kind of share. Buy into it when it's very young, the company already been well established for 20 years, then lean back and let slowly turn vintage :-) . Refill here and there, skim the cream off every so often that's it :-)
Nice touch free bottle of champers with next order, to celebrate this listing
...to be here pretty much right from the beginning. Did all my research after I first found out that Virgin Wines would be launching on London Stock Exchange and glad to be here so early :-)
Good luck to all
Come on then you virgins
type " buy wine online uk" into your browser and see which company comes up 1st
Thanks and good luck to you too, Newday. Hope your drinking habit hasn't gotten as bad as mine during the fake pandemic.
Good morning JackBlackburn! Nice to meet you! The longer lock-down goes on the more Virgin wines me and the Mrs drink :-) It will be interesting to see their finance sheet, I bet it's gonna be a whopper this year. Anyway good luck with your investments.
This was a surprisingly big starting price, I think but trading has got off to a flying start. I f it keeps up, I hop we'll all be cracking open a few bottles of Virgin VINO.
