Chris, presumably the argument Woodford bought in
i suppose it will depend rather on whether people buy the argument made by the company that it's about investing in additional headcount etc. in order to win new customers, and if that actually happens? -- if as time goes on the customer retention rate drops significantly, and/or they can't show good progress with new customers instead of just extensions, then trouble. (and more forensically, perhaps also whether there are any other costs being hidden or bundled in with costs more genuinely associated with targeting new biz.)
They are recruiting heavily at the moment, so that has to be a good sign. I have just been looking at the SCSW write up on UTW back in May, that was v upbeat and I think this company can potentially grow very nicely over the next few years.
but is it because storm has passed, or because we are in the eye of the storm? .... more coffee and croissant needed. gla.
These results were interesting as actually quite good growth of business. However, the lack of actual profit growth would appear to be the problem. Someone presumably hasn't kept a grip on costs or margins are under pressure - surely most businesses make more money for additional sales as basic costs are covered? Suspect have a lot further to fall as confidence gone
Looking to get back above £2,let's see how the day goes.
Yes it was PG, didnt realise it was their existing target....still a watch for me for now
that was panmure gordon today reiterating their hold.
244 broker target where dis you see that ?.
seldom hurts to let the storm pass first, see what is left when the wind drops.
Hmmm...New broker target 244...worth watching a bit longer perhaps and see if GS's shorting theory materialises
Yep already have........
reading on a laptop, i dont get it with any other posters from recollection, anyway not an issue lol
i think it may depend what device you read on? i usually write and read on a mac air, but probably text displays different on e.g phones, android tabs? dunno. probably i'm just disjointed to begin with.
raid on stop losses this morning ? spikey, curiosity got the better of me finally, any idea why your sentences are always so disjointed when they appear on here ?
lol, sean my secret twin, separated at birth. no rottweiller me, more a nosy, incontinent puppy. just stick my snout into things with tail wagging. sean, who seems back on the bbs now, differs a bit for example in being much more focused than i, i just flit around, and also i think he tended/ tends to get rather more passionate than i re the various issues. mostly, i find bb stuff just interesting rather than stirring (tho' i do dislike bad language, mostly upbringing i guess.)
Hi HP Reminds me of SeanHunter in the good old, bad old days... GS
Jack Russell to me lol.
You're like a rottweiler Spikey lol...
Of course. We all get excited and depressed about shares we are interested in. As for this one, it will be interesting to see if a short was opened in the last few days and is declared in the next day or two. it was looking pretty obvious to an amateur like me yesterday, so hard to believe a bright young thing somewhere did not spot it earlier. GS
but on the bright side, it presumably got progressively easier to buy that £700 as the morning went on.
sure, of course. your holdings entirely your biz. i'm just interested in general about how people's language shifts over time, which sometimes just reflects sentiment shifts rather than anything else. very natural. as with your absolute quantity vs proportion explanation, it's sometimes just about where people have wanted / needed to shift their attention or point of reference (e.g £££, vs % portfolio). and of course, sadly, my own interest in UTW now takes up rather less of my portfolio that it did yesterday : ( utw still getting slapped, some offloading underway.
Yes I saw it thanks. Still interested as to NW's reaction. Can't get on epast you can I. I still have plenty of shares (5k ish) but my holding is small is relative to the whole SIPP. Which is short- hand for my pension provision which includes a goodly holding of Woodford and all of which is dwarfed by 3 shares in BRKA. Held since 1986. OK? GS
me too, but then I prefer to go longer term.
