Tom :-)
Yes - Windowman ("Windows"), always so upbeat, optimistic and reassuring about TW, while we were all so full of doubts. He proved to be right.
No concens about current downtrend here (buying opportunity if anything).
All the best with your investments Tom, and with everything else.
DON'T buy yet, by the end of March these will be a £1 the way things are going.
Nathan Hi,
Great to hear from you. Yes Windowman was one of the old school indeed and I remember him well as Windows. Hope he is well and still doing his thing as they say.
Keep well !

I'll be looking to buy more TW stock once the market bottoms out. Currently nursing heavy losses in all my shares, but they will rocket up in a few months. Hang tight.
Hi Terrace
I explained why I thought Builders should nor be affected by the Virus and of course the market determines the price. The market is not always right, a simple proof of that is the dotcom bust when all our best Tech stocks were bought out by foreign competition. Two (or more) markets cannot have different values for the same company in a global market.
In US Real Estate (closest thing to Builders), decreased by less than any other sector (apart from Utilities), no doubt because that market thinks the virus will have little affect on them.
Given the fundamentals I think Builders Per's (and so Sp's) should be about double current levels even before the 10% drop this week, which is why I am invested here.
Builders should be regarded as a safe haven from the virus.

Tom/Helena - anyone remember Windowman? This is going back to the sub-50p days?
could £2 be the new bottom
Nigel.. the stock market has a different opinion right now and that is what places the value on what we hold.
Helena Hi,
Great to hear from you, the old team are back nearly ! Would be great if we had a post from Ice ( Iceman ) ! Wonder what new venture he is into, his new house was the last. Bazz posted the other day too.
Keep well and fit
All the very best
Tom :-)))))))
Hi Helena
Hope you are well and great to hear from you again.
Exit at 223, now 210 so looks like a good opportunity to me. As my post below infers, this is not a crisis for builders. Results solid and Imho Per should be about double current level (implies Sp of 420 or more), but Sp could drop even further, so all a matter of timing.

Hi Terrace
Global Economics does not affect demand for houses. A commonly held misconception is that builders fortunes dependant on the Countries Economy. Only 3 factors affect Builders fortunes, Supply / Demand, availability of mortgages and Interest rates.
All previous Building slumps (except banking crisis) occurred when the Economy was in a bad way, but this was due to high interest rates. Interest rates are not going to go up in this new crisis, so won't affect Builders.

Hi Tom and all. Still here i'm out at the moment I pulled out at 223. Good news with the car fantastic. I look in from time to time but being retired i don't have the same time. all the best.
I stopped reading what those fools said many years ago.
Nigel.. the problem with the virus for business is the economic cost and repercussions of the measures taken to contain it.Global GDP and growth could be impacted for quite a while which will dampen demand for all sorts of goods and services. This situation should not be taken lightly.

Opportunity knocks - as long as the door stays above water !!
Hi Nige
Trouble with Government any disasters they're out in force making it look like action is being taken. As soon as the floods go down all actions are forgotten.
Those flats I built next to the river in Worcester there was a room where the flood defences were stored, have they been put up, nah not that I could see, all the cars inside are trapped.
When we were building them in 2007 it flooded and the sales chap came to me and said I've just sold one
Funny old life :))
Hi Bamps
Floods are predicted to increase in the future. This is a Govt responsibility and they have no real organisation to handle it. Besides flood defences, building should not be allowed if the area liable to flooding (or, at least until flood defences are completed).
This is far more important to builders than coronavirus (which has driven my builders down by about 8% this week). Has tw lost a single sale due to the virus?
Builders are a safe haven from the virus, as noted in troubles link (in US Utilities and Real Estate least affected Sectors by the virus).
The market is as clueless as the Govt.

These damn floods are back don't think my local will ever recover, getting closer to highest ever recorded in Worcester.
Tw built a lot of apartments in the docks area their bunds will get tested today.
Main bridge has just closed, going to be hard to get about tomorrow:((
Iron's Best of luck with NCYT

Iron's Hi,
Blast from the past to say the least wow. Hope you are well and keeping fit. Great to here from you. What have you been up to ?
Thanks on the GGP bit. Picking the New M4 up Monday 2nd March, and cant wait. Great to see TW doing well and above £2 at last. Shame about the fall back but maybe its all down to the Virus. What a mess that's turning out to be.
Great to hear from you and take care !! Maybe ICE & Helena may pop their heads in too :-)
Bazz keeps up with his odd post now and again and its nice to see some of the old holders pop in now and again.
