fractional, not factional)
.. hi, shan, CM... was referring to weird as in "law of averages", buses in threes etc (i.e. half the Kop is parked in the LSE TRCS BB)! Talking about insults though, I recently heard a guy whose sentiments are for one of the London clubs refer to us as "hub cap stealers"! (although maybe he was thinking of the Toffees). Difficult, but I try not to think about the market too much, just look for divvy growth potential (function of both the growth potential of the markets the co is selling into and also factional return on equity ploughed back into retained earnings) together with minimal risk that the actual outcome will deviate from the "calculated" outcome... theory being that in the very long run sps will follow divvies. That plus (for fun) a tiny portfolio "tail" made out of a bunch of outrageous oil/gas exploration stocks that may never declare a divvy!
Good evening and welcome to the board. Not sure there is much direct competition to TRCS but it still needs to do a good job, win contracts and not give any nasty surprises. Good to hear you are a Kopite too!. Hey, not so much of the "weird", although if you say "weird and wonderful" then I'll settle for that. Not sure I can read the general market at present. What I regard as my strongest holdings have taken a kick today with yesterdays gains being wiped away today. Frustrating. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Regards CM
Welcome mate and good to know ur a kopite!!! Yep..excellent return on capital here as well as other ratios.
TRCS has an ultra-high ROC, as do many software cos in general because the "true assets" are the co's collective creative brain power, there aren't any significant tangible assets in the balance sheet. This is great... but with a big fly in the ointment ... it attracts competition.. rival start-ups need negligible finance to set up... For what it's worth folks, I only ever invest in a software co if its products are highly proprietary through deep specialist knowledge of the particular protocols of the industry it is selling to. Hopefully TRCS comes into that category as you can't help run a railway if you haven't been seriously into railways for a very long time. (This BB is weirdly populated, me too a Kopite!)
Thanks for the post Shan. I believe investors can learn from each other by sharing their thoughts and insight into specific companies and strategies. Always useful. Funkygib - hope you have not deserted the board because of yesterdays result. We promise we will give you the ball next time.......well............maybe!. Good luck. Regards CM
yes it is looking good..one game at a time eh!! my research...look for small/niche companies and then look for undervalued amongst them...i do a financial analysis page where i research what i look for...still learning though so not an expert!!
Premiership in sight?!. TRCS - moving nicely, but lets not speak too soon. Just out of interest, how do you do your research?, do you have set criteria to meet?, Probably similar to me but I have noticed your posts on a fair number of new companies I have been casting an eye over. Interesting. Good luck and regards CM
£3 in sight!
Thanks for that Shan. You really do seem to come up with some goodies. In return I will say EME. Worth casting your eye over perhaps. When I was new to all this posting and knew little (not that I know a lot now!), so many folk were mentioning DYOR and IMO that I thought they were companies and tried typing the ticker code in the box to find out more about them!. Well, they must be good companies with so much coverage!!. Perhaps my personal ticker code should be TWIT!. The sad thing is I am being totally honest!. Apologies folks for being off topic. Good luck and regards CM
Yep....I noticed both cll and emr in past...both good companies financially and off radar too. Other off topic stocks include....IME and ess...both now turned corner and good financials once again. I spotted IME on 6p but back then didn't know anything about financials so too late!! All the best mate...Sunderland next at home on Wednesday!
Good evening Shan. Yes, good going yesterday. Dreams do come true, just keep believing!. Don't win anything by being satisfied with 2nd. Let others do the worrying. Thanks for your thoughts re. AEO. I've been off work this past week after having eye surgery on Monday so it has given me the opportunity to do some more detail research in my spare time. I have looked at other shares too, most notably CLL. I see you have posted on there as well as EMR, can't seem to get away from you, lol!. I will see how things are first thing and make a decision. See TRCS is up to the W H Ireland price target. Watch this hit 300p should the U.S.A pilot be successful!. Hope that isn't speaking too soon. It would be nice to see an increase in the dividend. Still off most radars, can live with that. Regards fellow red CM
Great win yesterday!!! 6-3 away to Cardiff!!! The dream is on!!!!
Cm...don't need to worry about this stock no more!!!! Just does its own thing!!! Aeo...yep top top stock! Was in before results but sold too early! Tends to drift in between results periods but long term excellent company imho. And yes of course....lfc....make us dream Stevie G!!!!!!
Another good day here Shan. This is before the result of the pilot for TRCS in U.S.A. Wish I had bought far more shares here rather than in some of my other investments. Off topic (sorry), I have been scouting around looking for other possible opportunities. Have looked at AEO, noticed you have posted on there last month,. Looks like a reasonable company with potential. Have you any latest thoughts on it?. Have a good weekend. Looking forward to another possible 3 pts. in South Wales. Regards CM
Yeap, 3-0!. Oh yes, the TRCS results, sorry, thought you meant something else. Could do with GBG pulling its finger out now too. Has been drifting down recently but due to issue a trading statement probably next week. Have held them a little longer than TRCS. Should get result of U.S.A pilot for TRCS within the next month, that could well spur TRCS more. Would be nice for TRCS to hold this level. Regards CM
cm...fab results!
Good week cm. Everton and spurs falling so nice 6point gap. Anyway...back to Trcs...let's hope for surge in run up to results!
Yep..plenty of good stocks around with potential...I have changed my strategy and based it on financials first rather than techs/sentiment etc. Other examples beside PRES and ESR include ISL, HGR8, STVG, RM., AEO, ANP, CLL, AVG...and many other...quiet bbs but just quietly go about their business! the way I like it! not invested in all but got plenty to choose from if I need to diversify!
Didn't know you were invested in HAYT. I picked up on it after an article in growthcompanyinvestor.co.uk. I then did my own research and took the plunge sub 70p, then doubled my holding a little later - still a small holding. I have taken the liberty of looking at Shan's profile. There are a lot of interesting companies posted about and/or invested in. Some of them have caught my attention previously, notably PRES and ESR. I agree with the comments about oilers/miners. Generally I have lost money when invested in them and have only held the investment for a short time before bailing out. However, EME caught my eye recently and I did a lot of research into the company. The fundamentals look good and also the RNSs. I therefore took a small holding in the company and have topped up a wee bit since. It is going through a period of consolidation right now which suits me; it provides a support base from which to (hopeully) push higher. About every 2 months I usually go through a trawl of the FTSE AIM All Share Index, looking for companies which meet strict criteria for me to investigate further before I consider investing. I haven't done this for a while so it is overdue. I then back this up with detailed research, including looking at share price graphs, reading RNSs, studying the fundamentals, maybe looking at the companys' website. I will look at the LSE b board and check what the chat is, far preferring the quiet boards than the noisey ones where there is so much hype and ramping. Apologies for being largely off TRCS topic. Regards CM
If ur into those type of stocks then I got plenty more for you!,...my type of stocks!! Prefer the quiet bbs too...and ur absolutely right about oilers/miners....they may discover the goods but getting the goods commercial is another matter...hence majority are loss making. Trcs is good example if niche growing under radar stock. I first saw HAYT on 43 p and never bothered...its been incredible rise there! Well done for taking plunger!!!
You have shamed me into looking at the PL table. See the reds are ONLY 3 points ahead of spurs. That should give scope for plenty of banter over the next few months!
Thanks for the welcome also. Much appreciated. Thanks for the technicals. Generally I am looking out for these sort of companies with market caps between £30 and £100 million that are beneath everyones radar - who's sp rises steadily. As I have for my SIPP I can hopefully be patient. They tend to get ignored by the majority here on lse. I find it a bit amusing that there is so much chat about the latest oiler or miner when a stock like hayt is 85% up for me in less than a year but silence on the board? Anyhow rambling on - will look out for my trade tomorrow. Good Luck.
no worries....it was just for banter purposes!! good to have u as fellow investee!!! all the best here!...lets make some dosh!!!
Thanks for the welcome. Much appreciated. Sorry not a raving fottie fan - more of a rugby fan but do watch in the ebb and flow - Like this JM wind up today - made me laugh -''Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claims Manchester City will face "the worst Barcelona of many, many years" in the last 16 of the Champions League''. If man city had of won it was nothing and if they loose it was (2-0 at moment) against a crap side so they are even worse. - Classic. My parents had their first flat together when married in White Hart Lane so suppose a spurs fan by birth - if pushed.
