good call on that, hope it lasts. sure i read somewhere that svt debts exceeded market cap. not sure ifihave that wrong.
If the FTSE holds up, this will finally break £11 today, ad should start trading at a higher level.
The shares i mentioned all pay quarterly dividends; BP 8.5p a share; British Land 6.5p a share; Land Securities 7p a share; I think GSK is 13p a share. all paid quarterly and offer drip's too. Look into it and prepare to retire
Out of fashion today, but whatever 2010 throws up infrastructure assets are vital. Hence, will ultimately grow again. Regulation has to work for all parties.
This volatility is not supported by the volumes or ratio of sales to purchases.Sit tight and stay calm.
I have given you all sound advice re Severn Trent, just hold, reinverst the Dividend, and this defensive stock will in my opinion, show good growth in the near future. Good Luck.
Now that regulators have ruled, this company appears able to maintain its dividend and a share price of £12. is fair value for a 5% dividend. So,whilst many paniced yesterday and sold the correct play was, and in my opinion is,sit tight and hold. Good luck to all.
In the North West here we are baffled anyone would want to actually pay money for water. I have a river the size of the Severn and the Trent outside my hoose right now. Allow me to pipe it to the swimming pools, Lidos, bog gardens and saunas of the rich but thirsty South for a veeeery special price...
Do not panic, sparkling water will soon errupt.Have faith,Sexyman has spoken.
I forsee some large purchases before Friday.Sit tight. The share price currently discounts the potential bad news and this defensive stock will soon outperform the generally overvalued markets.
I have been hanging on to these shares for 9 months now so I hope you're right. I'm still worried about the Ofwat announcement due on Nov 26th, if this is bad news get ready for a big shift south again and make sure a 'stop' is in place !
At last,a decent movement up.I think "a leak" of good news due on Monday,I can see £11.00 plus in very short term.
Interim Results Announcement 24 November 2009 Ex Dividend Date 2 December 2009 Record Date 4 December 2009 Interim Dividend Payment Date January 2010
Is interim dividend payment about to be announced? last year ex-divi date was the begining of Dec. i cant remember this share rising 2% in 1 day for ages, still the day has not yet finished!
its a pity ofwats final determinations wasnt before the Interim Results Announcement...I have the feeling svt could try and pull a fast one using the words 'uncertainty'. I hope not, I want my 11 quid a share!
company at a really low price. Despite the Ofwat review coming up i doubt that we wont see these shares so low again this year.
I've just bought in. The OFWAT review is certainly depressing the price. This always happens. Hoping for a bounce when the final ruling is published. Defensives should come into their own when the market pauses for breath or better still corrects. I'm viewing utilities as 'safe' income play and much better return than money in the bank.
But god is it boring, one thing you know your moneys safe, c'mon tenner where have you gone? That bluddy OFFWAT's got something to answer for nearly 12 weeks and still trying to recover. Good luck to all holders
10.09 on the live. still expecting it to go in opposite direction before weeks end. profit takers alone, if not anything else.
but live price is 10.02...personally think itll dip back to 9.90 level before any further rise above the 1003 mark.
Could we see a rise as people head for safety in water???? This is a sitting share - just sit and wait and wait and sit. Thanks god I've got RBS and lloy to keep me on my toes!
closing in! 9.925 on live.
Not bargaining on it yet though myself...until at least september.
Lets hope this is start of a nice steady rise back up 1100, or have the MM's still not finished messing wiv this one???
