Hard to say, but slipped below the last placing price now which is concerning. I don't think it can be related to the index inclusion or the company would have released an RNS. The supermarkets themselves are down a little but nowhere near this level. Dividend announcement due any day so if it's a downward revision (which I think is unlikely) we'll know there's been a leak. I'm going for MM games unless anyone can throw some light on it? Whatever the cause it's unwelcome, unless you're topping up of course.
Seems bit odd - not gone ex, volume in line with average? Any thoughts? This should be a defensive play in this market but certainly not acting like one today.
The cloud on the horizon is that people are spending less on their weekly supermarket shop but if we learned anything during the pandemic it's that we can't manage without them. Things would have to go very bad indeed before they start closing stores.
I think the rent rises are linked to inflation but have a cap……so great unless inflation rips loose …in which case we are all fooked anyway! …..still a great REIT though in my humble opinion …surely the negative expectations the markets has built in now can’t much worse …but who knows? ….
If inflation goes up, so does he rent SUPR receives. If most of their borrowing are on long dated interest payments, this should be good in the short term.
Or have I got that wrong?
Hope this has all been sorted out now TDinvestor. I believe PB are very helpful if you contact them so would be worth a call if it's not resolved.
I didn't subscribe to the offer because I don't trust PB with my money. You never get to see what they've done with it, or any shares you have been allocated, or where they're at with the transfer process, or returning any unused funds to you, until it's all complete. And you have no control over that. Having said that, thousands of people seem happy to use it, so it must work for them even if it can take longer than you'd like. I wouldn't panic at this stage. K
Hi all, I subscribed for some supr shares in the recent fundraise through PB and they still haven’t been credited to my interactive investor account despite admission to trading on Fri 29/4. Has anyone else had a better or similar experience? On previous occasions it’s been done same day as admission or a day after.
Thanks a lot
So a substantial scaling back because of the substantial amount of applications under the placing ……I am a novice in these matters but why don’t they raise funds by way of an underwritten rights issue instead …….thereby rewarding the existing share holders instead of allowing new shareholders in at a discounted price.
4.7% yield plus growth in rents feeding through to earnings and capital growth. Like for like rental growth was 5% in the LTM. Inflation should feed through to rents, perhaps more so on new build that is far more energy efficient given savings in gas bills…
Ah well, maybe next time. There are plenty of opportunities to be had elsewhere, and as the yield has fallen below 5% now with "real" inflation running at about 8% it's no longer such a compelling share. I'll hold what I have though, for now at least.
ii have confirmed they're not getting involved.
I spoke to HL yesterday and they don’t have access to the placing. Does appear that Primary Bid is the only real way for PI investors to participate. I put an order in for an additional 66,000 shares. Hopefully full allocations will be granted again.
Still nothing from HL, less than two weeks to go now but still time. Any other broker offers out there?
Your broker platform should be able to apply for the shares in the placing. HL have always been able to; not sure about Interactive. We have also used the PrinaryBid platform to buy more (albeit not in the ISAs or SIPPs which is a bit annoying) and it’s always been fine.
Check out the RNS of 4th October 2021, PrimaryBid were involved last time. I'll let you know if/when I hear anything from HL, based on previous experience it could be a good few days yet though.
Krusty, like you I won't use Primary Bid and I find it annoying that it's becoming increasingly the case that Co's are using them.
I looked back at the RNS's concerning the previous fund raising and Primary Bid was not mentioned on that one so I think SUPR may have been "signed up" by PB like many others. Like I say. I hope not and if you get any luck with HL, can you post back?
I know it looks that way StayinAlive, and you may be right. I can only tell you that it looks very much the same as the last placement and I was able to buy shares through an offer on HL then. I refuse to use the PrimaryBid app because it doesn't meet what I feel are basic requirements in terms of managing my money. I'd like to pick a few more up at the discounted price though, so I'm hoping HL will be participating again.
I hope I'm wrong but it appears that the only way for private investors to participate is via this Primary Bid app which will not allow you to acquire in your SIPP or ISA.
I do wish they would have larger placements less frequently. They are such a hassle, and I don't think it reflects well on their long term planning.
Hi GedC, I'm with HL but last time they made the offer available through the broker platform. The only issue with your SIPP is making sure you've got funds available to buy additional shares, otherwise the process is exactly the same as it would be for an ISA or standard trading account. In fact, HL allowed me to apply for shares in, say, an ISA even if I held them in a SIPP but I'm not sure how ii works I'm afraid. Others may be able to advise. K
Thanks Othodelargery very helpful……i have now bought in! ……..excuse my ignorance again please but how do I participate in the placing …my shares are held in a SIPP….. the portfolio is dealt with through Interactive investor …
Excellent entry point - discount plus no stamp duty.
