TF - looks like a reality check on ESL today. I'm guessing you are now taking to the guys that got taken in by the serial rampers yesterday. I've cast an eye over the bb and most of the crew have disappeared, with their profits no doubt. Those left are scratching their heads so seeing if they are really holding golden tickets !
I want esl to recover with additional likely funding over the coming 4 years. Sure it will settle down over there.
Btw did you take your profits yesterday on MATD think it peaked at 4.4p. yesterday morning.

Come on Boris Southend can help towards your vision of a global Britain !

Climate protesters win Heathrow 3rd runway case in court of appeal.
BBC article is not too complementary on the Govt. Much more work to be done here then.
Don't tell anyone but Southend has a lovely runway that can help out with future passenger pressure.

I'm out too Volcano - got just under 51 p - its lunch time here, so want to focus on my food. Decent profit will check it out early afternoon.
Not bad considering where the market is overall today.
G
TF - the warmer climate in singapore has not helped them it seems. However the fear of the virus will keep people away from gp surgeries and the hospitals should have a bit of a clear out in readiness for a difficult summer imv.
Gerry i have sold BATM just over 50p and looking at the discussion board over there now looks NCYT, lol. not my cup of tea.
i am not going away my daughter is so i am the free taxi driver.
Enjoy your break Volcano. I wouldn't be allowed so much time on shareholdings if my other half was with me on this holiday lol.
Yep been watching airline and travel co's. Looking back - I closed out my Tui shares on the run up to the ex div date on the 11th Feb at 9.56 . Bit lucky there I feel - could get them back for 6.72 atm .
Am lending more towards rya though now fallen sub 12 euro.
STOB will also be on my trading list, but atm up sitting and watching the sector and virus news.

8.30am: Manic Thursday
The FTSE 100 plunged below 6.900 at open on Thursday, hitting levels not seen (at the close) since December 2018 after a bloodbath start to the session prompted by fears over the spread of the coronavirus.
The UK blue-chip index opened 165 points lower at 6,876.85

BATM reached my target and i am off to the airport.
airlines and holiday companies getting hammered, TUI is under £7 , i am very near to my target over BATM
Hi Gerry , even on a holiday you cannot leave it alone lol, the stock market is like an-addictive drug but when i am on a holiday i have total rest and only keeping eye on the market but no dealing .
I got just a bit over 45p
G
yes just under 44p but i have to be in the airport at 1 so i am watching every move
Volcano - have you had a nibble at bvc today ?
G
TF - it was always likely to be volatile over on ESL for the first week or so. Talking of volatile shares I see that trading in NMC has been suspended following the overnight news.
Lots of traders over there will be scratching their heads today. There was money to be made, but as with bur after the mw reports, I gave them a miss.
Be interesting to see how the Boris Brexit plans to down with the EU today.

TF - got to say I really do commend your stickability over on the esl today. How do you think you fared, dealing with the serial rampers and those along for the ride, though without any knowledge as to why, except that it looked a bargain and that's what they were being told / sold.
There were some classic lies, mistruths, false statements and an all around lack of research on display. But hey ho, many of the crew made a few quid and will be off to pastures new in a week or so. I say this genuinely wishing esl all the best and a long term recovery. Where the esl sp will settle will become clear over the next couple weeks.
I particularly liked the battle that broke out when you explained about the brand ownership, priceless.
If you thought that was bad take a look over on the esl adfvn bb Comedy Gold over there, with expectations of "massive dividends from these levels"
Todays's trading shows money can be made with next to no research, no understanding of potential fundraising to come. What's debt ? - who cares, not those trading the bejesus out of it.
But hey ho - I didn't trade anything today but the ramping crew managed to get their slice of cake,
Got to love share trading !

Bblurker - as you say cases popping up around Europe. Think I mentioned yesterday, whilst it's distressing for those who have lost loved ones. There will be better data on infection and mortality rates, from the outbreak in Italy.
Not sure of the data from China, possibly a fair number of non reported cases to the authorities over there.
I'm flying back from Tunisia on Friday, I had a rough and ready temperature test when I arrived at the airport over here. Be interesting to see what happens when I land at Gatwick.

Volcano you been trading this week ? Bet your pleased you held off on saga. Think you said you felt it was getting to a good buy price but that you felt it could go lower.
Tav - yep there are quite a few solid co's out there where divs are at 5 - 6 %, and improving due to sp's falling.
I particularly like the quarterly div payers in these markets - less time between pay outs, they seem to me to ride out storms a little better, and recover from ex div drops quicker. Though it may be my imagination.
I've still got a chunk of the money I took out of the market back in Dec. On the Boris Bounce still in cash, ready for the reality of the commencement of the EU trade negotiations in March and the likely mud slinging, threats and chest beating. Hadn't expected the virus to add to the uncertainty. 2020 looks set to be a volatile year.
Wherever you place your funds - best wishes to you.

Gerry, IMO (as a biochemist who had a chat with a virologist today) the virus will probably get worse before it gets better - the fact that you have almost a full week with contagiousness without symptoms, and that it's established inside the Schengen area means that it's going to spread. Long term impact unlikely to be bad however, death rate doesn't seem too bad, and primarily confined to those with compromised immune systems for one reason or another. If I had to make a bold prediction, it will probably be at its peak in around a month and a half, but that's nothing more than a guesstimate - how bad it will be is still very uncertain, and depends on how well governments respond. If it reaches the US, expect it to hit hard on account of their dysfunctional healthcare system.
TF - Ref esl - I'm surprised it took "degsyAlmond" till 14.23 to enter the fray. Prob too busy pumping on ncyt.
Prob the worse serial pump and dump ramper I've come across on these bb's. just watch at him go at it once he has the bit between his teeth. From experience there will be no way he'll let facts get in the way of a good old pump.
Think you may be wasting your time over there, atm, he'll have all his usual spin lines ready to go.
It's going to toxic for while lol

US open: Stocks rise despite ongoing fears of global economic slowdown

Gerry, I can understand your thinking on delaying purchases of long term holds. I am still 'buying' with proceeds from my travel and leisure sales, thinking any divi around 6%+ will do me for a year or so. I also hold ferg , sn. and gsk for the long term and am really positive about the ferg split and what it will do to sp. I think aht will go the same way but still look expensive .
One aim stock [ and i vowed to never again buy there] that I really like atm is GGP - newcrest will construct the mine at haverion without doubt imv and sp will likely double within a year . ATB and good luck.
TF - you still holding those matd shares, I've been in and out over there in the past. It's a trading share for me on drill news, getting out before the next placing / dilution for future funding needs.
Keep an eye on free cash on the balance sheet. I see "captain Stanley " has just popped in over there with a post, that will probably get quite a bit of response from lth's. He can be a little annoying buzzing around the aim oilers bb's I guess, but he raises some interesting points. Sure he'll get shot down lol.
