Because I haven’t got a Cristal ball, worked out well though.
I was wondering if Temasek will be looking at standard as a takeover target with the Sp being low.
I expect there will be a fair few mergers and takeovers in the coming year across most sectors as companies try to protect themselves.
why would you wait for markets to correct before buying?
Sold half -£ 1500 and added Abcam and gsk Good uk companies.
Wanted, one Noah’s ark boat and a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in exchange for shares. Oh and fishing rod and wine, beer, etc.
Results out tomorrow as they are based in Asia maybe news will be very early am.
You could always complain to the Financial Ombudsman or possibly FCA, either are usually very helpful.
Hi all,
I k now this a bit off topic but tried to day trade today for the first time on halifax and fell foul of their negotiated button being at bottom of first page on mobile. All I was trying to do was go to the amend/cancel buttons I know come up from the desktop site, but the negotiated dealbuttom whilst scrolling the page. This goes straight to the deal being done rather than the normal cross platform of are you sure question that Microsoft, unix
, apple, amazonand every other site I know of asks you before committing pence and not the thousands of pounds we all do on these site's. Complained but hot a rather uncaring not a problem response. So asking those who do use Halifax and those that might. Do you think committing yourself to a financial decision should be the default of any financial institution please either complain yourselves or get back to me
it cost me thousands and may cost you if you don't take extreme care on your share dealing site.
ah the best from a disgruntled share investor

Having given a change of view regarding the results I believe the Coronavirus is another main concern for SC during the current year because of it's high profile in China.I believe this year will be a year of consolidation at best. My opinion is that the sp will struggle to get anywhere near 700 in the near future
I am not expecting good results due to legacy issues, restructuring costs, increasing loan impairments and a challenging economy. Although I can see a small increase in dividend payment I would not be at all surprised if it stayed the same as last year
If the results are good which I am expecting. Then maybe an increase in the dividend. Which may help the sp. I’m topped up , but a good entry point now I think.
The results will probably be good as you comment but I do not expect the sp to rise above 750p in the foreseeable future.
I did say the end of 2020. From the sp at the moment it has lots of potential to move north which I expect. The results at feb should be very interesting. They have made a lot of money from their desposals and we will see how their banking business has grown (or not).
What's happened to your £10.00?
Another 500 adding, cannot ignore the sp.
Roll on the 27 feb. I could well be wrong but looking at standard desposals and profits from them I think the results in feb could well be better than expected.
Adding tomorrow another 500.
The time has come in my opinion that standard sp will start moving over the next 6 months to where it should be 9 .
That’s positive going forward now.
Interesting news, anyone worked out what it means, answers on the back of a fully loaded toilet roll please if you know the answer and how it will effect standard.
£10 is also a dream in my opinion.£8 to £8.50 is the maximum one can expect even with all the recent good news.
I’m sticking for my 10 pounds. Standard have steadied the ship and should make decent returns going forward. Good move on selling their interest in Indonesia which is not making enough. But they have still managed a healthy profit on disposal.
£10 is a dream but I will take £8+ and then leave
This is now a very strong buy in my opinion £10 before the end of 2020. Now a very strong company with massive potential.
