Look out below if the bid goes away or delayed. Seems to be competition worries with the higher bid and the lower bidder is not in the race for SPT shareholders interests.
Be a shame is the bid position changes. Only a bystander here at the moment so GL all.
I presume that both bidders were aware of Spirent’s Q1 numbers (probably under an NDA) before announcing their bids, so hopefully the numbers won’t give KeySight cause to revise down, or even withdraw their bid. The SP fell more than expected this afternoon, so I think the Market thinks this is a risk. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it drop a bit more, unless there is a reassuring statement from KeySight.
Seems on the face of it the issues continue. Thank goodness for the bid as this would have sunk any recovery on its own.
Before we hoped for a higher and now it seems perhaps the bit made evaporate given the current climate.
192p considering readding but around 160p perhaps is more attractive.
Todays RNS sets out a timescale for the sale. Longer than i had hoped and might well cause the SP to drift as some will see value in getting out and moving their money elsewhere. This might give those will to wait until much later in the year an opportunity to make some cash but it won't be quick.
I had a tradeplan buy trigger at 192 this morning. I am gambling on making either a quick 4%, or more if another bid comes in.
Risk is the bid gets rejected due to competition concerns.
I'm still hoping we get a higher offer.
I'm not sure i get this but there is an offer for 201p i can buy for for 8p less than that. yes there is stamp duty but i'm still looking at a profit of around 3-4% if not higher bid comes in. what am i missing to make this a good thing?
i won't get rich but i'll make a tidy profit with almost zero risk.
Available to buy under 199...
Viavi need Spirent so they get their longer term investment from Silver Lake. Expect a higher bid soon.
'Silver Lake to make $400 million long-term strategic investment in VIAVI Solutions in connection with the Acquisition'
Last week Viavi hoped regulators would block rival higher offer.
RNS from them today.
In a statement, Viavi said its deal represented "certain value" and noted its limited business overlap with Spirent relative to Keysight.
"Viavi believes that the proposed combination of Keysight and Spirent would further entrench Keysight's leading position in many product segments, which would limit customer choice," Viavi said.
Was clarifying Trump's position following on from posts below.
Thank you MaryBr190 for 50/60 sometimes up to 100 in balanced portfolio .
I did not understand the "He is at 350 ahead of Mr Cuban and Mr Soros."
Maybe meant for another thread.
£3 for me.
Viavi, you know you want Spirent.
The SP of Viavi reacted strongly and positively to the tie up so the US market saw it as a great deal and a super bolt on.
UK market saw it as a steal of a prized UK telecoms pioneer and always believed there would ne more.
Viavi can well afford a knockout blow and still not overpay.
Have their directors seen their share price to realise the market want them to do a better deal. Plenty of scope to do so without overpaying.
Am not buying more Spirent in anticipation, however seems to be a no brainer to hold and expect more.
Like Oliver twist, we are holding out our bowl.
A £3+ bid secures my share Viavi.... show me the money.

How many different shares do you own MaryBr190 , your Share Chat Post Distribution over the last 30 days looks a little like mine , seem to share a few.
240p would do me thanks
They must be fuming and coming up with a counter offer.
Viavi did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.

Donald does not need money anymore. The appeal bond is being posted Cash and you must have missed the DJT float success of Trump Media propelling Donald to the 500 wealthiest people Worldwide .
I have been thinking (which is dangerous). On the back of all the RNS i wonder if those trades were closing long or short positions? I don't understand enough to confirm it but someone with more knowledge can probably let us know. Not that it really matters.
