Hi SUFCESSEX: Certainly looking strong at the moment - I had 280 pencilled in for end of next week if recovery continued - but not complaining (is the potential of this Chinese deal just starting to sink in or is it a dawning realisation that just about all UK shares are currently oversold - or maybe both?)
Parfett123: Thanks for posting the SLA Chinese venture article.
One big spike at 12:50 to 289.80 then straight back down again to 275 5 minutes later.
My Broker is showing a 6 percent jump in price anyone else, or is it a glitch ?
281p is my recovery figure let's hope the rise does not stall ! In the next few days and we get to that figure soon.
SUFCESSEX: Early recovery days - but looking quietly promising. I need to research this Chinese deal - it could (potentially) be seriously big news (or not) - crikey, I sound more cynical by the pico-second !!!
A nice steady rise would be pleasant - isn't it always !?
IMO
Nice to see this rebounding back again.
It will be interesting to see how the Chinese expansion helps overtime, do people see this as a good move given the decline in funds under management of recent times and a sign of diversification?
Hi rxdav
Clever Money starting to flow back into the 2018 sold off / unloved FTSE100 stocks like Standard Life
Pension fund providers orders need to be filled and all ships rise
The 2018 ''Hard Brexit'' doom merchant media are now sinking into oblivion
SUFCESSEX: Doubt few here will hope you are incorrect - 280p next week would be very punchy (maybe week after?) but we'll see - let's hope you have it nailed on eh!?
P.S. You mustn't be so modest in future !! LoL
IMO
No big head here honest fellow Standard Life investors
But I am a natural born WINNER
Next week we see 280p again
I kid you not
I believe in UK companies :-)
yes - it would feel like we get the dividend twice - nice
Would be a nice touch Mr Market :-)
IMHO last 12 months UK FTSE 100 stocks have been hammered down
Now a '' Hard Brexit'' gone out the winder
I expecting a little boom with the likes of Standard Life shares over the next quarter
Take it LTH means long term holder ? No not at all use to stick to stock and hold for the sake of holding I have a few shares that pay dividends quarterly so stick with them. The rest I jump in and out of for the dividend, last year I bought and sold SLA on there highs and buying back in for this year dividend and hoping for a quick recovery. There are lots of shares out there paying a good return at this time of year so hope to move on to them , so long as my investments dont drop by my initial investment and I end up with a good sum of dividends I am more than happy.
rioilto10: Just jesting - suggesting you might be here but not want to be - given SP vs. potential Divi and situation ex Divi. Actually, which with today's drop plus yesterday's drop likely caused by those selling pre-Divi - looks about break even. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next week or two.
Nice, this thing held up. Hopefully back to 280p+ in a few weeks!
As I see this, As at close of play today I am picking my £700 wages in dividend
Happy to sit on my standard life shares until 280p plus as I am actually been paid to wait a few weeks ;-) it all swings and roundabouts with good FTSE dividend paying shares
Rxdav, dont understand your post whats a unsuspecting LTH ?
We go ex-dividend tomorrow and we over 1% down on the tape
So no-ones wants the Dividend here
over 5% yield to be banked within less than 30 minutes of trading
SUFFY - They said they will hold the dividend at least at the current level, which makes it 7.7% at this SP. Markets may tank, fair does, but I'm relaxed to be in here at that level of return.
My 302p prediction post on Saturday from the Pub
Looking like another Beer talk prediction ;-)
Blimey powder puff stuff this we only 280p with just over 24 hours to go
No-one clearly wants the 5% plus income yield here
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
riolto10:You sound like yet another unsuspecting LTH (I'm around break even here)? The drop post divi will be very interesting to see - and will tell a tale of it's own. Had it made over 300 pre I would have sold - but I'm actually quietly confident that matters here are slowly on the improve and not overly concerned - will take the divi and wait - at least they are now done to one Richard Head CEO as opposed to X 2 !!!
IMO
Unlikely to get to 302p by tomorrow night, just hope the drop on Thursday is not more than the dividend!
