Hi Ruck,
I was attempting to generate light rather than heat.
The argument was about whether Redmile would “ invest” in the ability of SCLP to initiate and run a p1 trial without a partner in the wings. The argument was in relation to Covid Vax.
I simply tried to highlight the example of Moditope as a clear example where RM are happy to back SCLP in first in human studies hence establishing some evidence.
I believe the same rationale can be applied to Covid Vax but recognise the difference in the necessity of a partner in case of Covid Vax not only to finance p3 but to provide manu scale up and logistical support which are not additional requirements for Moditope
Chelsea,
Thanks for clearing that up.
Morning Bermuda,
Unfortunately that comment re hasiba came at the end of a pretty long post and I had to add a bit more on a new post.
No I absolutely disagree with the comments about running a Phase 1 trial, and I certainly won"t be selling when that news is announced. I also certainly disagree strongly with comments made about you.
We get caught for space so often in our posts, but I said I understand what hasiba is saying (I think) and I meant that in regard to knowing the downfalls in shares like MTFB and IMM. Well that is how I took it. ATB
Hang on a minute, we were discussing Hasiba's 19.23 in which he/she stated that alarm bells would ring if Scancell attempted to run a phase I Covidity trial themselves. Moreover, he claimed that Redmile would not have invested in Scancell without that comfort blanket. That couldn't be more wide of the mark and is the complete antithesis of Redmile's investment strategy.
We have discussed many times the absolute need for Scancell to partner for phase II but I ask again, how could anyone invest in a bio if you didn't think they could run a phase I trial? Chelsea, you say you understand Hasiba's view, perhaps you could explain and are alarm bells ringing for you right now, will you be selling when Scancell confirm that they're running a phase I?
it is all about the science . we have to survive and defeat the virus and its mutations . there is no economic growth in a dead planet
I like the confidence of Cliff and Lindy . they have a twinkle in their eye when talking about the future . They are scientists not hedge funds . they now have that support .
the scancell bride is looking for the best Dowry and partnership .
so news will come and as I have said before don't want to be on the wrong side , this share will move too fast and you will have missed the boat
Best to one and all , whatever your trading style . I am an investor with faith
Morning Ruck,
Tend to agree and I put up Sanofis name a few months back, whilst being drowned out by ABs sneering remarks as to I had insider information
Well after 10 years in this share I guess we all mix in some ways with people who better and very inciteful outlooks and it was certainly a story doing it"s rounds at the time. Have done a fair bit of researching over on Sanofi and we certainly have what they don"t.........................one to checkout. Hope youre doing good Ruck.
But surely this problem is being addressed now......we can only know if after or indeed pre ph1 nowt comes......risk/reward still in full on play here.
Ivy,
Very true, both sides of the argument have credibility. There is no doubt that Scancell do have the funding to run p1 trials. However, in order for any of us to see a return on nvestment, Scancell MUST find a partner or do a deal.
Far too many here are so convinced Scancell will succeed irrespective of their actions based purely on the science. Adopting this attitude "it's all about the science" switches off the normal sound rules of investing. Someone with a bit of commercial nouse will ruffle some feathers.
Sometimes I think it is worthwhile stepping back to see the arguments on both sides more clearly.
Regarding potential partners and whether SCLP is “ investable” based on their ability/ lack of ability to progress a p1think Moditope rather than Covidity and I think you have a clear answer there.
PS I am certainly not emotionally attached to any share as like you Hasiba have learned that lesson and yes I am here to make money
