Lots of the big companies will use Covid as an excuse to shed costs from their operations which as we all know will be reductions in labour force. So for sure we are going to see high global unemployment however companies balance sheets will become stronger in the medium term driving profits and attracting investors. Some of the strongest stock market growth came in the post financial crash period and resulted in the longest bull run in history. Businesses and markets are more robust these days given the equity markets are the only place you get a growth on your money. Bonds and interest rates are fooked for the foreseeable future the only other option is bitcoin and gold which carry there own risks. The media have a lot to answer for also with there continual negativity. Don’t watch the news and the worlds a better place. Anyway time for beer. ;+)
Potnak. Its the VIX you are looking for . ratio of put to call options in the US. low reading is complacency. High reading is fear. DJIA and SPX are not weighted averages. Mclellan oscillator gives a good picture of big money exiting markets. Boring for non traders but I have my own crash system. The mclellan vix ******ometer. Look for a lower high on the dow. with a lower vix reading than the high. and a downward mclellan, and then the auto sells from the hedgies about to kick in creating a fat finger crash. Personally I think its all fecked once the fed stops bailing out. Im just here and cash at the moment. Interesting mms werent dealing below nms earlier. Sometimes (but not only) its a corporate action about to drop effective shareholdings as of today and they cant be arsed with the admin. lets see what happens as ever.
Yes, Andy. Same experience for me. The pension was down 20% and my cash ISA was down 30%. Both back in profit, although my cash ISA recovery was helped by me chucking some money in when they while it was down. The article I read was based on the US market. A lot of unemployment and mortgage defaults to come. Trump on a crusade to save his own skin, the pharma's are taking out adverts against Trump because of drug pricing. Can't remember what the stock market fear graph is called but, it is thought the US is at the denial stage. The smart money has sold and it's being propped up with new investors. The US markets are artificially high, hopefully, the bubble won't burst. I do think this may be a perfect storm for SAR to get a mega deal though, maybe even the Chinese type Thoth was speaking of.
Hi potnak. When Covid kicked of the pension funds in my portfolio dropped nearly 30% probably everyone else’s too. Right now they are above pre Covid levels. How’s this you might ask?? It’s quite simple as per the 2008 crash governments pushed money into the banks just as they have now telling them to lend it to businesses and people. What did the banks do, push it into the equity markets where they can get immediate profits rather than lend it at 1.5% interest rates. And that’s what they’re doing now and why the market’s won’t crash. All imo of course. Gla. Andy.
Trouble is. A lot of analyst and economists' think we are headed for a crash to rival the one that caused the great depression. All the signs are there. The COVID casino is feeding the fire. Every man and his dog is suddenly a trader. As the old saying goes. When the shoeshine guys are buying shares, its time to sell. Or something like that. I'm hoping SAR come good before it happens. Vaccines and treatments could avert disasterThere will be a new bottom for all the blue-chip and funds.
Well done WHO- a bit more doom and gloom to make the proletariat think they are on the ball
Why don't they publicise things positive for a change eg the fact that as at last night the Global recovery rate was approaching 63% up from 54% end June and 44% end May
*fast* Tracks. lol. getting excited
Abosuluelty, Basser. At the very least it dast tracks the compound for the other indications.
The World Health Organisation stated today that while hopes for a vaccine are strong we may never have a silver bullet for Coronovirus. Thus the need for alternative treatments for hospitalised patients. Bring on SDC- 1801!
