I have subscribed to Small Company Sharewatch for many years and also its sister magazine, Momentum Investor. One of them recommended Asos when they were 28p! There have been some failures but, on balance, their recommendations have done very well.
The company was written up on Small Company Sharewatch.SCSW.co.uk.
However, the editor was not prepared to chase the share at these elevated level.
Trakm8 up 20% on the day also - perhaps Micro's first acquisition?
Would make sense on several levels, in my opinion.
Thanks Pinky.
Have you got a link to the tip for SAAS.
Was tipped in a periodical.
And on NO news.
Must be something brewing ?
I missed something.
10% up and news ?
up quickly now.
Glad I put a few shilling in now when they first floated.
Perhaps this explains the Micro-Trakm8 'strategic' rescue/tie-up, back in 2018.
The BOX manufactured the JCB units for Microlise, I don't believe the contract was directly between JCB and BOX/Trakm8.
Reminds me of the old days of Trakm8.
Interested to hear of their first target for acquisition. My hope obviously is that they take out the rest of Trak (they already have 20%), but I wonder whether they may look first beyond the shores of the U.K.
Yes, you're right. I'd forgotten.
It may well have been during the period of (now hopefully resolved) engineering difficulties.
JCB were a Trakm8 customer as they came as part of the acquisition of BOX telematics.
Google Trakm8 JCB and you will find the document evidencing this.
Seems Microlise won the contract from Trakm8 a number of years ago
Yes, the RNS mentioned hardware - it's a strong contract renewal no question about it.
Pity Trakm8 can't (to my knowledge) secure a contract like that.
Pianista: Yes, I haven't bought any yet - obviously they're on my watch list. Better to catch them on the way up than on the way down.
Also, wondering when Microlise will announce their first acquisition - must be pretty soon you would think.
As I understand it every JCB that comes off the production line has a Microlise unit fitted as standard.
On that basis this contract is not only a renewal on existing hardware but also a continuation of their partnership meaning a lot more more hardware sales & SAAS.
Quick google and in 2018 JCB were manufacturing 500 machines a day !
Certainly the NOMAD should have been involved. Whether or not it was, we'll probably never know. All we do know is the end result.
With the shares already trading at over 10% above the launch price, I'm not sure if now would be the time to buy. Much depends on the interim results due 30.9.21.
Yes, I saw that and I had similar thoughts. It's almost a forward looking statement, but still I'm no expert.
However, I think these things are signed off by the NOMAD, so it can't be chalked up to inexperience.
What also stood out for me was the "we...look forward to updating new and potential investors with further contract wins of this kind." Is that just an aspiration - in which case Trak could say the same! - or a promise? It's not entirely clear.
Or maybe it just shows a lack of experience from this new kid on the block at what should go into an RNS.
in these RNS announcements seems to be industry specific.
That said, a 5-year SaaS/Hardware ('renewed' - so, I'm not that convinced by the 'new' label) contract with a major (global) manufacturer is nothing to be sniffed at by any means.
HL have it on there site. I just searched it under Microlise
Are Microlise required to RNS these facts?
iWeb
Surprisingly Barclays
Neither IG or HSBC seem to recognise the ticker??
How did you buy?
Morning all, here's an investor overview of Microlise
