Yes I saw that yesterday.
Certainly a positive though and I’ll happily sell at £0.90 plus
If I read this correctly a Hong Kong activist Hedge fund has just acquired 5% or 38mil shares of RTN. Should we be concerned, could this be that start of hostile take overs? Normally big institution buys get a bit more positive Press...
Sorted directly with them ,

Hi,
Shareholder vouchers are made available every year to all shareholders who hold more than 250 shares, and usually go out each year with the AGM materials in March/April to shareholders whose names appear directly on the register.
If you bought after that point, or hold through a nominee account or broker and that institution does not forward the vouchers to its clients (some do but some do not), you can come direct to us with a request and we can send them out to you if you provide some basic evidence of the holding (eg a screenshot of your trading account) and your address for postage

Trade 212 said we are beneficiary owner andthe equity is hold in custody at interactive brokers. dose not know much about this and need to do some homework to find out what does this mean to me ....
I think it will be that long (hope not) but x3 in 18 months : I would not complain. If there’s a sudden dip I’ll put some more in : else trying not to look daily (need to get better at this)
Yeah, I’m a little worried but I’m not selling till £1 plus.
Could be 2024!
You may be a nominee and have no benefit rights . Depending on the account at Trading212 you may not even own the share in a nominee account, you may be betting long on movements using CFDs
if you intend investing long term I'd transfer your business to decent broker who charges a very small commission and holds your shares in CREST.
Trade212 said they do not offer the discount voucher....
Going to be a slog before value reflected in SP. We’re sitting a lock-down levels - jokes.
Thanks
Yes, just contact your broker and ask them to send them to you.

Lets see what the next update brings. In the meantime we can feast on this Journos incredible insight, comparing cheap meat heaven MacDonald's to a largely Veg / Vegan Health conscious high end dine in? I often question myself why I despise journos so much... and then an article like this comes along.

"Frankie and Benny’s and Wagamama owner Restaurant Group has seen its shares jump 14% over the last month although year-to-date they have lost around two thirds of their value. Restaurant Group has done a good job of mitigating increased costs, having hedged its utility costs out to fiscal 2024. In addition, the firm has reduced interest rate exposure by arranging a cap on £125 million of gross debt from November 2022.
Despite the business showing resilience with like-for-like sales growth ahead of the market, the pressure on households’ budgets and consumer spending is likely to intensify. That raises the risk that families will switch from a trip to Restaurant Group’s outlets to a cheaper experience like McDonald’s (MCD:NYSE).
Shares believes it would be wise to avoid the shares given heightened risks of a consumer slowdown and persistent downward earnings revisions. Over the last year analysts have reduced their earnings forecasts for 2022 and 2023 by 20% and 50% respectively"

Ps - apologies for the poor grammar… bumpy London cab is my excuse
We may be approaching a recession but many visitors to the UK aren’t. They’ve already saved their hard earned cash for holidays and meals out. I was in London last week and the wag at Covent Garden was packed so went elsewhere… the next day we called in around 3 at the one in Soho… was about 80%. Used our vouchers there. Some may disagree, but I though the budget was better than I thought. Hopefully the recession will people over to my bus company lol
Sit on hands time!
Sorry I stand corrected 357Mil to buy Waga. Near enough 400Mil Tho
"The Restaurant Group plc ("TRG"), is pleased to announce that it has conditionally agreed to purchase the entire issued share capital of Mabel Topco Limited ("Wagamama"), the holding company of a group that owns and operates the Wagamama restaurant business (the "Acquisition") for a cash payment of £357 million"
They had a rights issue in 2018 that raised circa £275m (to buy waga), followed by a placing last year for another £175m. The average SP was circa 105p. I cannot see the institutional shareholders accepting a 70p offer as the underlying value has to be greater but you never know! A lot depends on how profitability is impacted in the next year or so as RTN deal with the headwinds facing it and to date they have managed well. Whilst we maybe in recession for some time to come it may be shallow so spending may not be impacted by as much as is being currently suggested, we will see! Hopefully the trading update provides some reasons to be cheerful!
The jewel in the crown was bought for 400M, current RTN Mk cap is 250M. so taking into account the increased revenue from Waga, and the protected state of the company balance sheet any bid ITRO 0.5B (70p) would be at the bottom end. Although massively below what i expected these shares to achieve i'd have to consider accepting it.
Suspect trading will be slightly sub-par (not massively … on limited primary research) the Q will be whether this couples with the energy and interest hedges plus rent renegotiations create a profit margin… who knows … I think it will be wobbly for 18 months but it maybe a lot of the competition falls by the wayside and/or and these levels a buyout is on the cards…
Tightly held . Not even 0.15% of shares traded on 765m in issue . Massive swings to stimulate trades . Don’t fall for it - Long game
Well this 9% down is annoying
Are we expecting a trading update soon, it was on Thursday 16th November last year.
Shares rallied 16% last year.
Good reports on footfall and Quality from Gateshead.
Yeah it is a bit annoying to see empty tables and queues . But it may be a directive given to stimulate interest and demand from passers by? i've seen it done in nightclubs back in the day. Making people queue spikes the interest gene in Humans!
