Where will we finish?
All such issues should be reported to the Company from a shareholder perspective and any responses shared.
Maximas, if you are a Royal Mail employee then it might be worth putting a post on Workplace regarding this issue, or you could mention this on the employee survey?
This is just one of many areas where RMG could make savings. I have already highlighted the issue of lost revenue as a result of mail centres processing DSA using the wrong machine family (circa £6.5m per annum repaid to businesses plus we still deliver the mail) and the business even distributes a weekly spreadsheet to around 700 employees yet nothing changes.
There are many savings that RMG could make which are easy fixes, however there doesn't seem to be the will to do so.
Hopefully the postage scams that have been going on for years will now come to an end now the new sorting system has started to come in,Royal Mail should now make a few million more, but they also now need to sort out the underpaid post system and how it’s implemented.
As the sorting office does not weigh anything, every business I no near me uses click and drop, they send everything tracked and we’re paying £4.74,but instead of items being upto 2 kilo, everyone way sending item upto 20 kilos.
Printing out labels and taking them to sorting offices,as everything was hand balled nothing got double checked.
Now items are being auto weighed,on tracking there coming up as underpaid, not all but some,as the system is going through final checks, soothing the teething problems.
This is great,so end customer is supposed to then get a card, telling them the extra they have to pay.
Now as the system isn’t working smooth,it’s taking weeks for any card to be processed,if any card at all,so the sender puts in a claim for the item, the claim then gets paid out, then the item just gets sent back free to the sender,no card sent to the customer…this needs sorting ASAP as it must be costing Royal Mail a fortune.
Any bigwigs from Royal Mail on here read this and do something about it please.
Several months bk we had to send are unleaded vans to London and get there old diesel vans in return.
It's obviously very important for RMG to update it's fleet although I suspect it will be another decade before the fleet is 90% electric as some of the more remote rural areas ( Highlands and Islands) will probably require hybrid technology or even current technology?
I have no idea what tax concessions that RMG have regarding fleet and electrification but it's probably not a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to fuel choices at the moment?
Personally I think RM should have kept a few cycles in every office as would be very handy sometimes
Brilliant..cant wait till there's a power cut ...
Maxi, Good to hear positive news and electric vehicles are an improvement. If you believe someone is listening to your complaints. Why not try complaining about the SP.
Who knows you might be correct in your thinking :-)
Well, someone must have be listening to me whinge about there vans being petrol.all vans in Stockport are going electric, all the electric points are being installed today,so at an educated guess Manchester and the rest of the uk will also be changing shortly…this is whatI like to see….the future is bright.
... For tomorrow we die?
(Well, Monday)
Bloody hell,it finnished up 6p…
Despite the shorts she is doing her best.

Oli. I presume when their on the cusp of the threshold any adjustments to the holding is more coincidental than a deliberate attempt at scaremongering.?
Current situation :-
BlackRock 0.70% 0.09% 31 Mar
Citadel 0.74% 0.12% 6 Apr
GLG 0.52% 0.15% 4 Mar
Marshall 1.71% 0.03% 28 Mar
Total 3.67%
Citadel have slightly increased whilst Millennium look to have dropped below the reporting threshold again?
AngerSharkz, confidence is everything here. You know as well as anyone that if the market isn't confident about a stock then the SP will drop regardless of the fundamentals.
What could totally throw a spanner in the works would be a ballot for IA by the CWU should pay negotiations break down. Conversely, should the next trading update look reasonable and the workforce are content then the SP should start to rise and the shorters start to disappear.
The question is, do you want a bit of discontent and therefore potentially a lower SP in order to increase your holding?
Angerz - As you say a market cap of around £2.7bn is ridiculous, I suspect just the property that Royal Mail owns is worth close to that alone, never mind the the value of the actual business as a cash generative going concern.
AngerSharkz, nobody has said that RMG is valued at £2.8bn and we know that the SP has never truly reflected the fundamentals, however, anyone who has been holding or following this stock since the beginning will verify that it has been the subject of some very heavy manipulation.
UNITE will not be holding a ballot. The managers are already running scared. I have it on very good authority from several sources that the ten newly appointment RODs (Regional Operating Directors) are already ripping into mail centre managers for poor key performance indicator figures. One in particular in south central was given a dressing down on the floor in front of the workforce.....brutal.
I have been informed that Ricky McAulay is handling the pay negotiations this year so unless Terry Pullinger has an ace up his sleeve...
for Managers lol no the RM don't need them anyway.
Have seen something about volumes down 6 percent. I'm sure it will hit the market soon. Be about 3 quid or less.
As for shorter working week , that is not happening this year as looking for a pay rise for posties of between 5 and 7 percent. And it will be met for sure. As without them no RM.
So when is the ballet result ???
Newd. "Happy to hold or add more if it drops"
Agreed, my thoughts exactly.
Maxi. 4 now that's good news she should be flying :-)
Sadly RMG tends to fall on good news. Let's all 4 take a comfortable seat and watch.
