Mr Mattingley may well use the next interims to kitchen sink everything, and so bolster his own reputation. Selling a while back may have been the sensible option!
You've got to suspect some downbeat rumours are circulating .
The continued fall today is disappointing. The results last week were not good, but there were positive statements about US growth, and Mr Mattingley coming in as Chairman should see some reforms getting pushed through. There is, of course, still the possibility of a merger/takeover driven by the activist shareholders. On a PER of 20 this is not exactly cheap, but with so much potential remaining I am happy to hold for now.
I won’t lie the recent pull back hurt a little,, it’s had a good run so can’t complain
I took the 10% pull back to top up only £500 but every little helps
https://fxnewsgroup.com/forex-news/institutional/playtech-takes-e221m-impairment-charge-for-finalto-as-sale-looms/
Above link shows the wee mess they have made with what is now Finalto. Having said that, they have now booked the losses, so we should be onwards and upwards from here.
Fair results given we’ve had a pandemic, looking at the bigger picture they haven’t issued more shares to stay afloat like some companies, the loss wasn’t that huge, were growing in America , and were just about to come out of lockdown worldwide, sports betting will be huge in America and with uk shares looking cheap in foreign eyes especially America ready to snap up gambling ventures in what is a relatively new market this company and shares long term willlook cheap ,
I’m going to take today’s pull back to top up a little £500.
Had a glance before the market open and there were a lot of figures down from previous year. I will let somebody else read it all properly but the market doesnt look impressed so far. The BOD also needs to settle down and give a clear indication where its going. Think I'll stay with PLUS for the time being
The company continues to sell assets and make major accounting adjustments. This along with the reliance on "adjusted EBITDA" makes me very nervous. However the saving grace is:
"Playtech continues to be cash generative and delivered operating cash flows of €366.9 million (2019: €320.9 million), with adjusted cash conversion of 89% (2019: 79%)."
This could have been a lot worse!
Thar she blows £5 quicker than I imagined; with a good appointment today as well can only make playtech. Stronger . £10 by year end ! ? Yes I thought so to mildly stretched imagination there but. You never know stranger thing happen . But happy with the £5
Or perhaps this week?
No its a UT
Is that a big buy 3.5k shares bought(£2m), after hours?
Ha spoke too soon , perhaps this week....
Is tantalising close, and with the new revenue streams,2020 results expected to exceed estimates, what’s not to like about playtech, onwards and upwards,
Should a takeover offer come in well take a guess £6-7 area one would hope
Do not understand the muted reaction to today’s RNS.
Surely this deal opens up several more US states and could add million to revenue?
Progress, not exactly hitting the jackpot in Las Vegas but promising news.
Effectively they will get £90m, so not a great deal for PTEC. But it sheds a non-core part of the business, which may in turn render a take over of PTEC more likely. This has been rumoured for a couple of years, and is the aim of certain activist shareholders. This is OK if it leads to greater things!
A bit disappointed by this RNS, why sell off this part of the company? Are they paying a fair price?
sound thinking hope you got Entain before MGM bid
looking to double in 1 year my long term pick and also entain!!!
Great result , up we most certainly go. £5 soon I was happy at £4.50 my strategy to diversify away from boring but safe Tesco’s is reaping its rewards now,
A very positive operational update imo. Might well attract a bid or significant JV in 2021.
I think this is rising with all the takeover frenzy within this sector would be nice to think some big outfit is eyeing us up.
