Everes, i believe he is looking at the Canadian market for one of the spin-off. Am sure he mentioned this in one of his podcasts but cant remember which one. Sure someone can dig up which one
As I said yesterday Paul said a few weeks ago that shares are the only things people don't buy in a sale, saying he wished he could buy more.
Now he's allowed to he's put his money where his mouth is!
Yep and I rather suspect that the 500k that's just gone through could also be another from him. It's very encouraging.
Looks like PJ has taken a rare opportunity to purchase shares in between all the newsflow which usually prevents him doing so. He must be confident of the expected rise in sp from these levels.
AqSu, Worzel, thanks for your responses, very useful indeed. Do you know whether PJ is likely to target any other markets than the AIM for the spin-off IPOs?
500k trade just gone through
RNS: another SIPP buy yesterday from PJ... very reassuring that good news is coming
I did say last week that one of those large trades could well be a ISA trade.
Hi Everes. I am no expert in these things but Paul Johnson is !
Spin offs help the parent company and it's shareholders in a number of ways.
The parent company will usually retain a % share in the spin off or be given shares in the new company.
This has a double benefit for the parent company, it effectively turns a cash burning "liability" into a no cost asset on the parent company's balance sheet.
The spin off will be self financing and hence advance it's projects more rapidly than the parent company ever could.
The parent company can then conserve it's current cash reserves. This will help advance it's
own in house projects and possibly acquire new ones !
Once this cycle of acquire, spin out and acquire gets going, with the right management, the parent company could grow very rapidly with no need to dilute shareholders through share placings.
Shareholders benefit from a hopefully increasing sp, possible share distributions, dividends etc.
The one thing we do know is that POW management appear to have a great network of contacts in the mining sector. PJ has previously stated that new investment offers are constantly coming through their door.
Everes,
Worth a listen to the media on Power Metal Resources website where Paul explains his strategy.
https://www.powermetalresources.com
Points to bear in mind re the different eggs in the basket:
Paul has put a lot of his own money into Power and hence any decision he takes re IPOs and subsequent cash generation will be used to create most benefit for shareholders as he is a major shareholder himself.
The current sp will multi bag if just one retained egg hatches with a major find so using other eggs to fund remaining projects and hence not need to fundraise and further dilute shares sounds like good news to me
It does sound like PJ does have the right idea about maintaining shareholder value and not going through successive rounds of fundraising by placing shares, but does anyone here know what the impact of these spin-off IPOs will be on the parent company SP? It seems logical to me that if a portion of POW is spun-off via an IPO then would it not be to the detriment of the parent company? I have read though that shareholders of the parent company are generally given 'assured entitlement' to a stake in subsequent spin-offs but I'm not sure how I feel about having various eggs in various baskets.
For the record, I'm very new to all this so take the above with a pinch of salt, I don't know the ins and outs of how spin-offs work so please if you do, enlighten me!
Agree with all comments before, at the moment POW is my definitely the horse I'm backing for the long/med-term, I think it has a huge amount of potential and BOD's interest seem to be aligned with ours, which seems surprisingly uncommon.
2p per share in a few months could look a steal; Canadian Spring enabling Silver mine explorations, further exploration at Haneti, lab results for PGMs from Molopo Farm, Australia exploration/IPO, DRC Cobalt production license grant etc, and if anyone doubts what a gamechanger a major Cobalt find would be, have a look at the new presentation from the Anglo Pacific Group showing how they have re-shaped their portfolio away from Coal etc to Cobalt as their major exposure followed by base metals as they see the price of those commodities rocketing.

Totally agree with your post , and at 2p a share you can really load up on this as and when.
2p a share in a few years could look like the steal of the decade
Another great interview with PJ. My take is this is a mid to longterm investment and shareholders will be rewarded accordingly.Molopo , Haneti and Silver Peak
for starters could be huge , talk of possible dividends at this early stage is extremely encouraging as well.PJ has shareholders interests at heart and has more or less guaranteed placing discounts won’t happen.I have a great feeling about this Company and believe it will be a multi- bagger in due course. This is just my opinion , but I'm hugely optimistic.
