Subject: Break the Sanctions
Morning John and Max
I realise you're in a sticky position with frantic days ahead, but here's an idea. Why not just break the sanctions thus avoiding GPB notification which seems to me like having a gun to POGs head. So pay GPB and fight the consequences through representation to the British government and through the courts. That would take time but it would more importantly buy time with maybe peace and sanctions lifted in the coming months.
Just a desperate and probably naive idea
All the best
Lawrence
Actually it was May. At that stage no one knew whether the BOD or groups like Hannam & partners had even tried for waivers , but my suspicions grew
And now we know the truth when the deal is done, the bastards
I met with Sally-Anne Hart in June/July this year
Exactly what I said to my MP Sally-Anne Hart. Idiots like the new foreign secretary James Cleverly replied to me in a House of Commons letter in a ten paragraph diatribe praising the effects of the sanctions and the last paragraph essentially saying people were stupid to invest in Russia. I want that $&nt accountable for his thick ill informed arrogance
Before the war started, many of us have invested our Pension money in the sanctioned Russian companies like EVRAZ, POLY Metals and Petropavlovsk. Now our pension money has become worthless losing all our years of hard earned money due to UK Govt sanctions. The sanctions are not deterring Putin to retreat from the war but the sanctions have certainly caused lot of monetary loss to UK citizens. Sanctioned Russian companies mentioned above did not promote the war rather it was entirely the Putin's own decision to invade Ukraine. It is clear that the supply of weapons helped Ukraine to fight Putin but not the sanctions as Putin continued his aggression despite the UK sanctions.
UK citizens became the victims of the war. Sanctions led to :
- rise in oil prices
- rise in inflation
- rise in interest rates
- rise in mortgage payments
We UK citizens are paying the price as a result of UK Govt sanctions losing our personal wealth. Penalizing Russian companies indirectly is destructing UK citizens wealth and welfare. Sanctions did not have any impact on Putin's approach since last 6 months.
How long UK citizens have to endure this pain ?
This petition to UK Govt is to remove the sanctions as they are not working and request UK Govt to find a new approach to counter Putin and request not to penalize UK citizens and others that are not involved in the war.
PS - Above is just a draft. Pls suggest the edits and let's submit the petition and spread the petition link to others as we need to gather atleast 10k signatures for the petition to be discussed in Parliament.
Yes the government laid down the sanctions and the BOD did nothing to seek waivers.....l;et that sink in.. they did NOTHING................... why? and not the lame excuses Opus give us in their FQA. The fact its even in their FQA says it all, that everyone was asking why no waivers
yes but the only russian crook is your hero Pavel and his team. I read the long winded panorama with interest. Yes, Bailey should appear at the old bailey. He was a known failure so they moved him on - to a better job. Seems more than hopeful to think the govt are going to help when it was THEY alone who deliberately targeted Pog and companies like it. The Bod let us down to but they were arm twisted and have behaved exactly like the brokers . Someone might have spoken out but no more soft jobs and maybe even some fear, justified I think.
This is the establishment and nothing short of a revolution is going to change that. Cressida D. led the op ,gave the order to murder mistaken !at brazilian man at the tube . Instead of paying the penalty she was moved aside to successive better jobs, ending with the topmost one. The PPE thing was a scandalous fraud involving cabinet minister(s) and other high ups. Not even the usual pointless enquiry.
Most of the people who lost their savings were using pension pots . It was not that long ago the rules were changed to make that possible-why ? Today kwarty is allowing the bankers bonuses again-why ? Most of the country`s dire situation results from bailing out those bankers. hey told you there was no choice -a big lie.
Even charities are inherently fraudulent- the income being paid out as excessive salaries to the bosses and other dodgy expenses. I actually remember the days when it turned out there was zero regulation and charities were used in tax mitigation schemes. In the panorama it appears the FCA did not regulate Black... and the people ought to have taken account . Still the failure to act on info is inexcusable.
This whole cesspit reminds me of thatcher trumpeting entrepreneurs so hard , I actually got the impression her acclaim might cover criminal activity.
What risks were they you cretin. The risk that your own government would actually hand over your money to Russian crooks and a corrupt BOD. A Bod and Administrator who now , but only now actually admit they never even tried to alleviate the causes of the situation that allowed bad people to use it as a smoke screen to steal a massive concern for peanuts leaving honest share holders devastated. Didn't you warn me once CWWX about libel, why were you so protective of a BoD who have now proved I was right about them all along.

>Are they actually going ahead with a lawsuit?
I don't know. I'd be surprised (you never know what has gone on) if corporate law firm would take this on. It is expensive
and definitely not a certain outcome. I understand the frustration, but it belongs, I think, with the BoD - they maybe could have done a better job, but that is over a period of years.
Are they actually going ahead with a lawsuit?
Opus aren’t aware of it if they are.
And to be fair, everyone knew the risks. Ok, blame the government BUT there were multiple RNS advising we were likely to get wiped out. No chance of any lawsuit standing up in a court of law.
IMO

Well, according to admins:
"An application for sanctions relief by the Company (i.e. to continue to pay GPB) would not have made a difference to the Company’s solvency ...
The Company was and remains unable to extract sufficient funds to pay its debts due not only to UK sanctions but also due to Russian sanctions and banking restrictions, coupled with a sudden and serious deterioration in market conditions for the operating subsidiaries in Russia.
.... the Company is still unable to pay the sums due under the Term Loan or the Facilities to the assignees of those debts (UMMC and Nordic, respectively), even though they are not sanctioned, in the same way that it was unable to pay GPB when it was the Lender. A licence would not assist the Company in this regard."
So, legally, that would be one side of the argument even if they did try to sue the government, the counter argument is - POG would have folded like a deckchair anyway. But the POG investors can hire a corporate law specialist to see if that argument holds true or not. My money is on it being very hard to argue against.

Lawrence<< Is there currently court action challenging this situation??? What is pending with administrators???
Sent you an email if it's getting through your filter...
So this ****** who is now the governor of the banks off England presided over the FCA and as shown in that Panorama video did sweet FA to save investors from known corrupt selling of ponzi bonds , The are laws in this country but only if you know they are there and have the clout to challenge and use them. That's where we are with POG now. It's blatantly obvious the BoD had no intentions of saving the company as they never once applied for sanction waivers . I've been right about them the last two years
