hi terry' , I know , I know , I know ! yes i'm annoyed as hell too , got a goodly sum ( for me ) invested here , and never like selling at a loss !! I have got other stocks doing ok at the mo' so am prepared to give this the long hold treatment , BUT a line has to be drawn somewhere , do I take it from your post that your nearing the end of your tether ? We are due the interims soon ,right ? (next month is it ?) But i'm not holding out much hope for a lot of good stuff in there !! I hope to hell not but I feel this may get a little worse before it gets better , OR they may rns Monday am with a mega deal !!! who knows , but I think i'm gonna keep the faith a while yet .
I don't know about you but I am getting a little annoyed now by the lack of news flow from the company . will set them a target of news before interims as I am worried that after all this time they still have nt managed to strike a deal . scientists are renowned for being bad at business ,its been over two years now and they have had to shelve one discovery , had people trial the one they are most optimistic of , and still no deal or news . I am beginning to think that maybe there product is nt as good as they believe .
LOL. yea I saw that one share myself terry' , wonder if mr gamgee's press piece (good work by the way) was it , or whether there is something else on the way ? we are defo' due some good news here ?
mr gamgee
http://www.oxfordsurfaces.com/content/press/press_archive/2014/290514.asp 29 May 2014 Oxford Advanced Surfaces Group (OAS) announces that it will shortly make a new adhesion promotion product available for customer evaluation. The Onto™ EP1010 surface treatment is part of the EP1000 series of adhesion promoters and has been designed for application to a substrate specifically using dip coating equipment. Onto™ EP1000 treatments provide adhesion promotion of polyurethanes, epoxies, silicones and siloxane-based epoxy coatings to the substrate surface. Due to the highly reactive nature of Onto™ materials, the treatment can bond to even the most difficult substrates including engineering plastics and thermoplastic composites. This enables materials with excellent bulk properties such as UHMWPE, PET, PEN, PEEK, PI and other semi-crystalline materials to be used in applications where the adhesion of the coating even under harsh environmental conditions is crucial. Sarah Vickers, product manager, commented "The EP1000 evaluation product for bar coating applications has proven popular and many customers are evaluating the product on flat sheets and films. Onto™ EP1010 is specifically designed for dip coating systems so it also enables customers to trial the treatment on three dimensional substrates such as moulded parts and fibres. Users from industries that typically apply their coatings by dip processes will be able to test the effectiveness of the novel adhesion promotion treatment in more production-like conditions." We are now taking enquiries for Evaluation Packs of Onto™ EP1010 - the packs will contain all the required components and guidelines for a small scale assessment of the treatment.
noted this morning , lets see if we get an rns in the next few days

High performance materials are often difficult to bond. Sarah Vickers of Oxford Advanced Surfaces explains adhesion promotion of polyurethane and epoxy coatings to difficult to bond substrates and introduces Onto™ surface treatments. Reinforced thermoplastic composites are increasingly being used as replacements for metals in high performance products because they combine strength with other beneficial properties such as light weight, flexibility and chemical resistance. The excellent solvent resistance and heat stability exhibited by many engineering and speciality plastics used in such composites is a result of their semi-crystalline nature, and whilst these features provide excellent bulk mechanical characteristics the lack of reactive surface chemistry can cause bonding difficulty at the material surface. Coating durability and component adhesion Coating durability and component adhesion is important in many high performance markets. In many applications the substrate will require a functional or decorative coating that must be durable over the product lifetime. Weak bonding at the substrate-coating interface will be catastrophic to product performance and this is particularly exacerbated for applications where there is a large degree of wear and tear from environmental weathering effects and repeated usage. Similar issues arise if the substrate needs to be bonded to another component using an adhesive because weak bonding at the substrate-glue interface will result in delamination. Clearly, delamination is unacceptable in applications where durability is crucial to performance. Surface modification methods Often to achieve good bonding to thermoplastic-based substrates, the surface must be activated or modified in some way. In many industries, corona or plasma processes are used for this activation process, but such treatments are not always suitable owing to specialist processing equipment being required at the point of manufacture. Etching processes like plasma or laser ablation as well as mechanical roughening techniques such as sanding are common methods of surface activation but they are sufficiently harsh that in some cases they can cause surface damage. This can be particularly problematic for materials such as fibres in which the surface area is large in proportion to the bulk material because it can cause weakening in of the substrate and may lead to diminished product performance. Primers are often used to improve bonding to engineering and speciality plastics. However many of these treatments use a combination of aromatic hydrocarbon solvents and chlorinated polyolefins and, owing to the regulations surrounding such harmful materials, much effort aims to reduce or even completely remove these chemicals from manufacturing. Onto™ surface treatments Oxford Advanced Surfaces (OAS) develops surface modification treatments for adhesion promotion of coatings to difficult-to-bond substrates based on its pr
but I am guessing the article is offering nomore info than what we already know . bit long winded for me to register just for one article , but I would have had no problem doing a copy and paste . oxa really need to shake a leg , don't understand what the hold up is . either the onto application is networking as well on the different surfaces , or they are asking too much for the technology license . they will have to let us know shortly , so lets hope they offer a clearer picture of were the technology is at , as commercialisation is way over due .
no worries , mr gamgee ,good work finding it any way . GL .
Sorry, but I won't infringe copyright of the magazine. It's pretty simple to register & you get a PDF version of the issue with graphics & all.
is that a no then !!
you could copy and paste article mr gamgee ?
Brilliant article in the May/June issue of Reinforced Plastics magazine. Will need registration to read, but it's free... http://www.reinforcedplastics.com/view/38407/adhesion-promotion-of-polyurethane-and-epoxy-coatings/
just been reading it now , I look forward to a good day . atb
On ALO THAT IS
Good news tomorrow mate
cheers mate , back in alo , I will give the other one a watch for now .
You did ask about ALO did you buy in as there is good news coming soon. Also one to look at is HAYDALE HAYD just floated and the price is good and news to come.
will look into it , I shall be on this board until we strike a deal , could be along time as a deal is well over due and still not forthcoming . take care and speak to you soon
I came out the day of the placing as I had been told 5mins before the end of trading but went back the next day so well down at the moment. Don't know if you can trade on OMX NASDAQ company called Interfox hit oil in Russia good results on there way. Will keep in touch on here. Good luck mate
good to hear from you , I thought you might have moved on . hope all is well with you and look forward to having a chat . atb . ps you still in alo
Hi Terry have been looking on lots of boards for you just hoping SLME did not put you out. But you can't keep a good investor down. I still have contacts and as you know not all tips are good but I usually know what is happening before most. Will keep an eye on this board as I haven't looked at it for a couple years.
for just a few hundred quid I could get my average down to about 6p but should I ? been waiting here a long time now and have averaged down a couple of times already , this lack of news and progress is annoying and worrying , I too hope this year is THE year but I say that every year with this share !! patience , I know is the key , but for heavens sake lets just have some good news , please !!
Yep commercialisation delayed and I think the finals will show another loss so may get worse before it gets any better. Excellent potential though considering the markets it can offer its product.
