Do you mean he going to sell here tomorrow
That would be strange
Baron took, what we believe to be the case, a shed load at just under 40p, so wanting to 'shift' some, would mean he's looking at a price substantially above this for him to even entertain it.
Or, he could just be fooling others into selling for him to add more at the lowest price possible, as ''some'' could mean just a few thousand shares, who knows, only Baron in this case.
Either way, do what is right for your own investment.
I’m expecting 70p to be hit tomorrow and I’m sticking my neck out n saying another bidder will emerge. Reminds me of COVE ENERGY. Good luck but with 27th jan a while away and NO EXCLUSIVITY agreement in place .... Ophir are well and truley on the shop window and WILL be sold..... question is who to ? I think we will hear of another bidder by the weekend. Good luck guys. Finally after months of negativity we can afford to be over optimistic.
Well done, cat and mouse underway. Our board flushed out PT Medco with the latest RNS, using "..and is proactively evaluating the OPTIONS available to the Company to maximise value for shareholders for the rest of the portfolio".
Now, two points of interest.
Firstly, the ruse used to issue the RNS was "Further to the share price movement in Ophir, the Boards of Ophir and Medco confirm they are in discussions about a possible cash offer to be made by Medco" (RNS due to be issued 7 am tomorrow). Now, why with only a 7% rise ( achieved in the closing moment of the half market day) when only the other week a +10% mustered no response, should raise eyebrows.
Secondly, what are our "options", the board would not have engineered this without a firm belief we have another interested party sniffing around. They could have just told Medco, to do one !!
Interesting few weeks ahead, gla to all holders & lets hope for a very, very happy New Year.
I see Baron Day Trading mention he will "shift some" of his holding tomorrow, strange behaviour to make a statement like that in advance, he usually doesn't. Or perhaps I am reading his tweet wrong?
Unless the market knows the price that PT Metco come in at ( and that has not been mentioned yet then any possible fluctuation can happen between now and then making it uncertain for us investors to know the best possible action and when, that's the nature of the game.
ArielArrow- the price ophir settles at Tomorrow will likely be take over price unless a 2nd or 3rd bidder comes in.
pmo and ophir both living to fight another day but not exactly what I had expected here but I think the little house knew something about it don't you children.
The comparison between ophir and faroe has some differences, the main one being that ophirs share price is way off fair value for the assets, obviously any predictions at this stage are finger in the wind and depend on what any predator feels inclined to pay.
When FPM got a take over offer a few weeks ago it was only 21% above the closing price. Ophir should not be sold for less than 70p and fair value is 1 pound. 65m debt 70m oil reserves 25000 bpd current production 707m shares in issue. Be interesting on Wednesday.
If an offer is based on the value of the assets then I would expect at least triple the present share price, but that's not what will happen I'm Afraid!
There is little doubt about the value of the asset here ( at least double the present price) it really depends on the possibility of potential competitors creating a auction, how desirable is Ophir?
Munchbox I think your right about better investments out there! If I could get £1+ I would bite there hand off but I can't see that happening?
What makes this worse for me is I was about to average down with a sizeable stake but decided a few weeks back to dive into Premier instead, Timing has never been my thing!!!
*anything above 50p 60p
i dont see anything from 50p tbh faroe petroleum got offered 150p which is a solid company. times are tough. there are many cash rich oilers everywhere.
Not a coincidence this takeover news has emerged as the Fortuna licence about to lapse. Hopefully, that can be priced in now but fear it may be to late to save now. The offer to us the shareholders will reflect this once Fortuna status confirmed in January. GLA
Why do you think its worth £1 ? Seems unlikely to me, but WTFDIK.
Davstock. Maybe not. First of all it’s good enough to start negotiations. Secondly if you think ophr will sell up for less than £1 min then think again with Tanzania asset alone worth $1b + and most likely to come onstream in 2 years. Then you have 27k bopd paying good cash flow which will attract NEW buyers as they have given them until 27th jan with NO EXCLUSIVITY meaning we are open to anyone. I think if you can get £1+ mate then there’s other better long term investments that will get u more money long term. Head up ..... chin up ..... Wednesday will be a joy.
This is a nightmare for me, My share price is too high I fear!!!
Fair play to NewKOBT, called it early Monday....
“Does this mean what I think it means ... lets hope the price is right !
"..and is proactively evaluating the options available to the Company to maximise value for shareholders for the rest of the portfolio"”
