Hi Mr Rob229, unlike youself and Libero, I unfortunately do not resarch thorroughly all stocks I invest in, but liked what I read about graphene and its uses, but I sold out after a loss due to the diredtor declaration and a prevvious failed business. I may buy in again, biut there other stocks like PEBI and WEBIS holdings, (WEB). If across the pond means the USA, you might find both of the mentioned stocks of interest. I notice that you follow CTFA. Before making an investment in CTFA, I am trying to decide whether graphene is a material that is likely to gain acceptance in the marketplace. I am posing a polite question. Perhaps you will tell me how you became interested in graphene and why you are optimistic about it. Maybe it is a substance with which you are acquainted by reason of either your education or business experience. I would be the last person to criticize anyone for getting interested in something new on the basis of mere impressions, but I am hoping that you may have some insights which you are willing to share re graphene. As has been pointed out by others, the word "graphene" is not even recognized yet by spell-checking software. For me, being ahead of the crowd has sometimes been a good investing plan, but on the other hand, one should probably mindful of the possibility that the arrival of the crowd may take a very long time. Thank you for your consideration of this message. Regards, Rob229
did not print. "invest" means "investors." Then I signed my named!
I appreciate your generous thoughts. What to say? I suppose that, to me, the community of investors [including helpful people who are situated in different countries] is a community in which I cheerfully participate. As mentioned perhaps a week ago, a post by you re MONI helped me to conclude that MONI in the 70's may, in relation to its revenues and foreseeable prospects, have started to get expensive; and I stepped aside. In your way, you were motivated to help others, and I like to do the same. Not a particularly unusual way to conduct oneself, and it suits me even when rewards arising therefrom are hard to find. Sorry to read that you are, for now, a spectator re OMIP. I have made similar decisions, i.e. remaining a spectator because I felt that I had missed the low. No unchanging rule applies in all situations. As concerns investing in shares, one of my favorite sayings [apart from the one that I typed last evening re "pay" and "play"] is as follows: "The only rule is that there are no rules." Even the early securities analyst, Benjamin Graham [who was, as you may know, born in England and who, while a child, emigrated with his parents to NY], missed some opportunities because he failed to buy at a low. I know this because I have read books about him. You may know that, while at university, Warren E. Buffett studied under Benjamin Graham. I hesitate to say whether it is still early in the rise of the OMIP share price. For now, I am content to remain involved and to have a look at the OMIP share activity each trading day (or each "dealing day" as I think is, in your part of the world, more generally said). Incidentally, I have visited England a few times, mostly London, but I do not claim to know each of the differences in the way English is spoken in your country and my country. In England, share traders are called "punters." That word is used only in some sports here; it is never used here for describing a share trader. I was clicking around a bit, and I found that you liked REDT a few months ago. I wonder whether you liked it enough to take a position. As I think I have mentioned, you seem like a serious investor, especially for being 22 years old. At 22, many people here seem more interested in video games than shares. I will mention another little company that interests me, Arcontech, symbol ARC. For a very low-priced share, it seems to have good prospects. As mentioned by me to a poster on the ARC bb, the ARC website seems quite good. I am impressed with the way in which potential customers can find on the website the ARC telephone number for each of the countries in which ARC operates. Plainly, ARC shares are speculative. Caution and independent study are urged. Regards to CP22. I still hope you will say how you decided that 22 and 29 are good numbers. Plainly, I am in accord. With good wishes for a pleasant evening to all OMIP invest
OMIP was one of the first shares that caught my eye somehow, I looked into it and loved the business model. However the share had just risen from 10p to 16p and so I couldn't bring myself to buy it because of that whole missed the boat feeling. I stuck it on the watch list, watched it closely for a while but eventually lost interest and went elsewhere. I only came back on here because of that superb rise yesterday but I am unfortunately not a holder. You're certainly an astute investor but I think it's funny that you seem to have taken that as more of a compliment that saying what a lovely chap you are haha! Investing is a continual challenge and I love learning about a company when I find one that really catches my interest. "Sometimes you have to pay to play" - I like that saying and I think that's very true. I recently set up a virtual stock account that mimics the LSE but it just isn't the same because I can't get away from the fact it's not real money therefore I take risks or take profit etc when other times I wouldn't, etc. And obviously just watching the stock market and saying I'd buy then or sell then just isn't the same as being there with skin in the game. I hope you have a great weekend too, Rob, and also to you CP :) Kind regards, Dan
A pleasure to read the late-Friday posts of the above-named OMIP investors. It is still Friday evening for me, and I will get myself away from my computer as soon as I have finished this post. I had no idea that you, Mr Libero, have an interest in OMIP. My impression, as mentioned to Ms CP22 on Friday afternoon (or evening), is that OMIP is an underfollowed share. My recollection is that the free float is limited, although I haven't the percentage figure handy. In any event, a nice surprise to see you here. I appreciate your having characterized me as an astute investor. Investing in shares has been a hobby for me for a long time. I suppose that, to me, the evaluation of shares for pleasure and profit is a continuing-education seminar. I seldom get tired of attending this seminar. At certain points, I devote time to quiet study of financial statements, news releases, charts and so forth; at other points, I am thoroughly receptive to the views of knowledgeable people like Mr Libero and Ms CP22. I like to think that profits arise from a careful combination of (a) the study time and (b) the receptivity to the views of knowledgeable people. Perhaps you, Mr Libero and Ms CP22, feel similarly. One thing I do know is that investing in shares is a continual challenge because it is both art and science. Regarding the paper loss at MOS, no one understands better than I how you probably feel. But [as mentioned on the EBQ bb], the Argentine news, i.e. peso devaluation, is an exogenous event, an event that could not reasonably have been foreseen. I think I should withhold any advice about what to do. Apparently, the political scene in Argentina is volatile. I wish I could predict the future there. MOS looks like a bargain in the 30p range, but I lack the knowledge that might enable me to estimate the long-term damage that the political volatility and the currency situation may inflict on companies in Argentina. Although I concede that my crystal ball is perpetually cloudy, your positions in SYQ and OMIP are likely to yield profits far greater than any loss that you may sustain at MOS. I leave you with this enigmatic notion: If it were not for your being invested in MOS, you would probably not have found your way to SYQ and OMIP. I sometimes crystallize this idea and resign myself to a problem trade with this funny line: "Sometimes you have to pay to play." Wishing a fine weekend to CP22, to Libero and to all OMIP holders. At some point, I hope that CP22 will tell me how 22 and 29 became your roulette numbers. I hope that 22 and 29 continue to bring you excellent results. Rob229
if you like you meds then research SCLP. .good news and undervalued .. DYOR
Shame there's an ocean between you guys, eh? And yeah I get around. Often finding shares I like but can't afford to buy into. And then when I can spend I stick it on shares like MOS before it's epic 70% collapse haha! So no my investments are not going too well at the moment but I'm still learning and still reckon I'll be in profit this year so I don't mind. (Although I am beginning to wonder whether I ought to become a bit more inactive til the summer when many AIM shares become much cheaper) Btw, having read my previous post back I realise it was a bit unclear. But basically, over Wednesday and Thursday, I spent 30 hours in London! Mostly cos I work there of course but also because my parents went to a wine tasting event and needed a designated driver (me) and, despite reassuring me they'd finish at 9pm, they didn't finish til gone 11pm! Haha Tbf though it wasn't all bad. I was with my girlfriend whilst I waited, which was nice. AND I saw Alastair Darling* outside Lloyd's of london / the cheese grater that night which - as a political nerd - made me stop in my tracks haha! * former chancellor and proud owner of pitch black eyebrows and snowy white hair. What a combo!
Lol. Hi Libero, hoping you are doing well in your investments, see your name a lot on shares I have on watchlist.
I think it's dead sweet you've found out you both have a mutual love for the numbers 22 and 29 haha!
Rob229 has to be one of the most astute investors I've come across on LSE and certainly the most polite. He's an absolute gent. To rob, I am sorry for not yet replying to you on the EBQ bb. I've had a busy few days. Including one day where I was out of the house from 7am til 1am the following day, before having to wake up at 6.30am after a lousy 5 hour sleep to go to work the next day. I felt awful and haven't had the time to research shares or reply yet. Hope you're well mate :)
Bought in to PEBI, which both SUMM and PLE ARE PART OF PEBI'S bio portfolio. Have watched SYQ and reguarly read bb, unsure at the moment, have seen price fluctuate between 60/70p, its on my watchlist. You seem to have a good diverse range of stock picks, more interested in your stock picking than your spelling and seem to astute in your choices. No apolgies needed about your assumption about gender, very few posters are aware that I'm female, it was merely your politeness/courtesy calling me Mr CP22 that I felt I should bring it to you attention. 22/29 are my roulette numbers. Anyway good to see and hear from ther posters on this bb, as sometimes it is quite desolate with very few postings. Wishing you a great weekend and a successful investing policy, may touch base next week.
Good evening CP, Sorry for assuming that every poster is of the male persuasion. Just a generalization, with some important exceptions. It was my mother who got me interested in the market a long time ago, so I know better than many that there have always been competent lady investors. 22 and 29 are my lucky numbers (hence my pen name); so I like you very much already! I too have a position in TLDH; seems quite promising. For medical shares (beside the inevitable PLE), I hold among others SUMM, which likewise seems promising. I see much discussion on this website about COMS, but I am not invested there. I will have a look during the weekend. Thank you for suggesting. Today, I bought a small quantity of EBQ shares and a small quantity of SYQ shares. EBQ is a quiet share, no trading some days; but there have been some recent institutional purchases, and I like the niche occupied by this company. I had been looking at SYQ during the first four days of the week; I missed it when it was on the "bargain table" in the low 60's. Thanks to a pleasing trading update this morning, it jumped to the higher 60's; so I had to pay up. I sensed that the train is about to leave the station, and I decided to get onboard. Disclosure: I write from across the pond. I like to mention this so that, if I spell (for example) the word "favorable" without the "u," people won't think I am a poor speller. I wish a fine weekend to you. Thank you for writing. Rob229
Hi, Think you've made a great choice in OMIP, profitable company, pays divis twice a year and has constant growth since it was on old PLUS MKT, which I think is now ISDX. Check all RNS'S there about OMIP, have liked this stock for many years but only bought in when it finally listed on AIM. Excellent management team and has not failed to deliver. My other stocks, mostly high risk and very speculative, have made loads of money and also lost loads of money. One stock I would feel comfortable suggesting you look at is COMS. Today a placing of 6p took place so lots of differing opinions on the board at the moment, but once the price settles down Mon/Tues, I think it would be a great long-term investment as got a brilliant CEO at the helm and who will make it a very successful company. TLDH might be worth reading up on, as it is in the internet domain sector and has also done very well over the last few months. CRV is another stock that could reward you well, but best not to check that stock daily as it can make you a little stir crazy. All stocks mentioned are only in my opinion. The info regarding your reseacrh in to Helium was informative, thanks. Re: CP22 username is always assumed I'm male, but not so, I 'm female, but at the time of joining lse share chat, I was not very imaginative, so just used the initials of my name. Anyway rob229, I wish you good luck in your investments and may catch up on another board. GLA
I too had gotten tired of looking here for weeks and seeing no activity. On many days, there were neither trades nor posts, but I have stayed involved. I got a little more interested In this company perhaps a week or ten days ago, when I decided to research an investor in OMIP by the name of Helium Special Situations Fund. That fund is managed by a hedge-fund group in Zurich named IS Partners. To me eye, IS Partners is a small group of highly qualified, well-credentialed people. This group made me more confident that my decision to be involved in OMIP is a good decision. Nice to see these shares participate today. I probably should click on your pen name to see the other shares that you follow. Perhaps you and I have in common a leaning towards some of the companies that are not well known yet. In any event, I wish all OMIP holders well. Rob229
you can pop over to DQE if you interested in media companies.
I use to look in daily but got tired of posting yo myself everyday, so stopped bothering. But have noticed all week continual rise, but no fun posting daily to uourself
every day i pop in here and only now is this share getting the attention it deserves..
Excellent, continual rise in share price all week, fantastic company to be in. Wish I could have bought on old Plus mkt at 3p. Well done to those who did buy in.
OMIP, is a real gem of a stock on Aim and also one of the quietest bb;s. Fantastic rises over the last few days, hopefully followed with some news relating to the rising share price, as long it is not a death knell RNS, saying we know of ne reason etc. GLA
another purchase to increase the portfolio of music. and financial results due 19th feb .. all good here ..so that also means there was a leak a few days ago, and shows how corrupt the MM's are.
Love this stock. Wish I would have bought more between 8 & 10p when this first came to my attention. The CEO is seems really passionate about his company and seems driven to create shareholder value.
a rise in the sp wasn't really expected, news reported already or a leak ?
Results next month. A handful of buys and it's looking like the opportunity to buy under 15 pence won't be available much longer.
Lol
