Being set up for a t/o well north of 12p probably going to sell off Mozambique business first, that’s my take and I think it is being held low to allow others to buy in cheap !
Half year results out... thoughts ?
Just a shame this jiggery poker isn’t resulting in a share price going upwards! Many other shares would but this seems to be a form of manipulation. Held since 9p levels so want 10p and above as a minimum.
Well despite the negative posters and the share swapping around by Pelham another ii has increased holdings to above 3%. Was not so long ago Pelhams right hand man added a large amount. As they say, buy when others are getting nervous and selling. I have. Atb
Ah, great to hear you're enjoying 6.3p bottmburp.
I absolutely did warn you but if you're committed to handing over your cash to smarter folk then I can't stand in your way.
There are so many good stocks out there so there's no need to lose your shirt on garbage like this.
Oh well, there's something beautifully Darwinian about the flow of cash to smarter folk.
Enjoy your losses.
Some large ones today. Perhaps a rollover of sorts. This is at almost half of the placing price from earlier this year!
This does look like ist being manipulated but certainly a lack of volume at the moment.
Looks cheap at the moment but BOD dont seem to be that bothered about the share price which always worries me that something is going on and the PI is the last to find out. GLA
Yet another insightful post from sharedeal1 . . .
Could be the start of the rise
Did I miss something..has OBT gone bust??? I don`t think so with the huge increase in revenues.
Anyway, I can`t be on here all the time as I`m out in Africa on a Safari, shooting the local wildlife like Rhino`s and Gorillas...ha ha!
You`ll soon disappear when the takeover comes...all these big buys disguised as sells don`t frighten me...just AIM market shenanigans as usual with the big boys picking up cheap shares off the weak.
So I`ve got the guts to reply when the sp falls, will you have the guts to speak when it rises again, which it inevitably will!
Somehow I think not.
...bottmzup for example?
It's as if he disappeared up his own...
Therein lies the abuse.
BOD know its worth say 30p, bugger up the sp on thin trading and mysterious RNSs and peeps just want out even though they know its worth more - because its all controlled and contrived and it should be looked into but it won't .
See DARL as another rip off.
Jimzi, I think you are right. The obt ords are becoming increasingly irrelevant. The Argento pref shares and the internal trade finance loan show that the focus is much more on off-market finance sources. Current MCap at 20m is too low even putting a hefty discount on the official NAV of GBP100m. I expect any buyout from whatever direction will need to be pitched at about 12p to be successful. Worth holding for that possibility but I expect there will be plenty of PIs happy to be out at 10p.
PIs are about to be shafted by some cheap privatisation.
Net assets of 135m?
CFDs have been closed for 3 months now?
The bod have used the market, don't need it any more, go private and make a fortune.
Great world isn't it?
did you know there's an investor group that shorts his recommendations? Says something!
TW is a crony of anyone desperate enough to take a stand at his investor show - he is by far and away the worst tipper out there, even including Woodford, who he hates (but also loves, as his fund is doing almost as badly as TW's own). Some of his great tips have been: Concepta (as you know) at 18p, Stanley Gibbons at £1, FOX at 20p, OBT, and the list goes on. Once in a while (about 1 in 10) a tip makes him profit - such as OPTI. Even then he advised a sell at 50p before jumping back in when it was clear he'd made a mistake. He's a bit better at shorting, because of the pessimistic and unpleasant person he is, but even then there are glaring errors, where he's blinded by his own right wing prejudice.
Yep another shixx tip..
...it's just another Winnifrith / sharemuppets AIM cash pit. Why some people would pay that guy to access his so-called expertise is incredible.
Winnifrith has benefited over the years from OBT's attendance at his shows. He tips them. All very cosy - like so many other disastrous stocks he's recommended.
What the hell is going on here
New lows here and Pelham plays games with the SP.
everytime a pop back here it seems this share drops another 1p...so that's either a big shareholder not trusting the board or lots of pi's seeing that obtala is deforesting african forests just to pay the fees of the board and management. How Pelham and is merry band sleep at night is beyond me...keeping him in oyster, champagne etc, while species get wiped out and africa is desertified. You lot that remain here (there can't be that many of you) are just as bad! you'd think twice about investing in a rhino horn /elephant tusk harvesting operation but you are happy to see elephant and rhino habitat be obliterated all in the name of keeping busy - surely there are better places to put your cash? Note 25% of the worlds gorillas live in Gabon where Obtala is happily deforesting 100kha (and replanting less than 1% of it....)
Think you've hit the nail on the head Craig
Perhaps, there still seems to be a seller to me. Once they stop/clear I think the path through 10p+ will be smoother.
After 2 buy recommendations at the weekend PIs are buying, will miles buy more too??

By Nigel Somerville | Sunday 29 July 2018 If you like this, please share this article using the buttons below Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from *************). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article. I note the piece from Hotstockrockets which explains part of what Miles Pelham has been up to. Essentially he has been offloading AIM-listed Obtala (OBT) ordinary shares and picking up convertible prefs (which pay 5%). We are told that the trades are notional in that he was facilitating a switch for a holder. Fair enough – I was a bit confused and this sort of clears the matter up a bit. But I also note (HERE) that he has bought a stack of warrants – 5 million of them - exercisable at 20p and which expire in February 2020. Mind you, he only paid 0.01p each for them so the purchase will have cost him the princely sum of just £5,000. Is it all a big spoof? Compared to his salary, it is a pretty insignificant sum. But he has put up a fair old chunk of his own cash into Obtala, and why chuck £5,000 down the drain on out-of-the-money warrants if he doesn’t expect to make a return on them – it would have been better to buy the ordinary shares for at least then he wouldn’t have nasty people like me pointing out he’s lost five grand in a year and a half: he would have proper shares in his hand. With the shares trading at just 7.1p there is a long way to go to reach 20p. I am minded to see this as a positive move, therefore, that shows he expects the shares to beat 20p in the next 18 months – or less. That would be good news for Obtala – which would see a Bernie coming its way as he exercises the stock. But it would also be very good news for Obtala shareholders as they would have seen a (nigh-on) three bagger from here, also in just eighteen months. As such, I am very tempted to follow Hotstockrockets’ tip and pile in for a few in the morning. Filed under: 20p hotstockrockets miles pelham obt obtala warrants Never miss a story.
