100% agree JG would have spent the last year ( and the year before ) perfecting the filming of musicals , UK / USA will be at the front to open up and the rest of the world will want to consume the content , Will the Napster App include Broadway or is 2022 more likely , either way i speculate its happening . GLA .
CB,
A previous announcement from Napster stated the May PR commencement. GLA
Robidicus Oh yes i can great growth from what they have been doing, just in the last year alone, getting their ducks in a row, i have invested very heavy into this, as i can see there vision and in my eyes puts them ahead of the big boys in this game if done right fingers crossed and might even be a buy out coming along from one of the big boys, just on the business deals alone they have got
Thanks, CroydenBoys, I did suspect something as such.
In that case Mel5, no need to answer my question ;)

CroydonBoys, I dropped Spotify and moved to Napster when the RTO was announced. Its not a patch on Spotify, it does everything that Spotify does a bit worse and for the same price. I see this as a really good thing, they've acquired a successful business that has a poor product proposition. Imagine what will happen when they sort the product out and, crucially, make it different to Spotify.
thanks to all those that responded.
Still hoping this comes good.
I actually thought Spotify was loss making still. I think the odd quarter may have made a profit once.
"TheSkull" i think there are a couple of posters on here, that are getting info early and know whats going on behind the scenes as it get mentioned that this week would be a boom week ummmm and info came out :) keep the info coming guys and girls pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Mel5, you have repeatedly said the PR machine will tkae off in May, I hope your correct and I'm not doubting your word at all just curious why your so certain of this. Appologises if I've missed it in either written or other form as Im too busy working for investment funds.
TS
so as a shareholder i have looked into signing up to Napster, website is pooh and not sucking new customers into signing up with the info their have on there, what you get / family discounts etc no selling info , and advertising @ £10 a month, so i downloaded the app on my phone, and the first price that comes up is 12.99 a month https://prnt.sc/11kf9z2 how many people went nah and deleted the app straight away, there is a chat option for the app when signing up so i pointed that out to them last week that the first price i see is £12.99 , still nothing has changed on the App then :(, i understand the new website / app is coming is and from what we have been told and seen good things are coming as this part of the industry is going big time :), the app store online is showing different prices https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/napster/id585858244, also it been around for a little while but not many people know about it 8D music that you can only play through your head phones
Absolutely it scuppered 2020. First mover advantage and USP negated.
We had stolen a march, but Covid just provided the time and space for others to 'look at Melody's engineering' and copy it.
But we have two other USPs waiting in the wings.
1. A hybrid service - everyone else either does on or the other.
2. The Broadway musicals. It's just as well JGO have had to stay quiet - they can't do any work, otherwise it's end of furlough money. But hopefully Melody and JGO have been completing the foundations - under the radar.
excellent post Kof K. i particularly endorse your comments regarding lockdown. i never subscribed to the view that it presented an opportunity, which view i felt, was a little short sighted and superficial. far from being an opportunity for long term growth, i think it pretty much completely scuppered MVR's business plan for 2020 and in effect they have had to regroup and refocus.
Agreed KoK, a very reasonable assessment, another couple of weeks and the May PR machine will commence, leading to an APP that will be the re-reinvention of Napster!
The SP is what it is due to the market wanting continuous growth and market gain, as soon as this is proven the SP will continue to accumulated.
GLA
Perfectly summarised KoK. Could not agree more.
Bax123 - becoming cash positive by the end of 2022 will be done by expanding the B2B side of the product as already RNS'd, reducing overheads of the company by streamlining the staff during the merger, and by marketing the new combined app to all four corners of the globe whilst rolling out regular live concerts, interviews, archive concerts etc on an incredible new Netflix for music subscription service. The answers are all ready out there... look at how long it took Spotify to generate profit, if we can do that by the end of 2022 it will be nothing short of outstanding. I like the target of 400m revs by the end of 2023 - growing the business 5x in that period with a revolutionary new app appears very realistic without resorting to hyperbole. Personally I think it could do better but that is a very achievable and good target to aim for that if achieved or bettered will see us all very nicely in profit with regards the SP which will take care of itself. People keep mentioning lockdown was a wasted opportunity but do you know how much artists were demanding to play virtual gigs? No? Well trust me it makes you sick! The greed on display was obscene. Melody could not afford to be throwing money around like that with cash for the new app development so obviously tight... especially at gigs that came across as a bit bland anyway with no crowds allowed, it simply wasnt worth it in terms of the potential revenue coming back with the limited money available for marketing. It's ok moaning at the company as to why didn't they do more but once you know why they didn't then it becomes very obvious. Once the app is combined and we can market direct to 5 million + subscribers then the gigs will become a lot more profitable. I'm very relaxed about the current SP it is obviously manipulated and the company is grossly undervalued - we are a matter of months away from exponential growth imo - all very exciting!
'it looking slightly alzheimery'
If you'd ever had to deal with it (not that I imagine you could), you wouldn't be so flippant.
Who do you think you're trying to impress?
You're not funny. You're not clever. You're no use.
And nobody takes you seriously.
bax123 must be rikki with all that amount of text
"Out of interest, I wonder how many people on this discussion board have stopped using their own musical streaming service (Spotify, Apple etc) and have signed up to Napster."
No, not a chance. Spotify for me. Once the new service launches (in theory later this year) then I'll definitely take a look and weigh it up against Spotify's offering.
Your other points are all valid. They have, as you say, squandered all of the opportunities presented by lockdown. Some of our more enthusiastic posters here claim that there were no such opportunities, which I'm sure the backers of Driift would disagree with. (Launched during lockdown, already generating more revenue in year one than Melody ever did in its entire existence.) That view also ignores the 30+ livestreams that LiveNation/Veeps have scheduled this weekend. Everything from live concerts to documentaries and 'a live conversation with Alicia Keys' etc. etc. There was a big opportunity there - others have capitalised on it, but we haven't.
Just today we've had a 13 year old article being posted here, which gives you an indication as to what we're working with. In short, this new app needs to knock it out of the park, because right now we're behind and we're losing ground by the day.
I’ll step up first Bax (why the hell not). I have tried the current Napster app and it is ****. Yet they have a small, loyal following. What excites me is the endless possibilities that a decent, dare I say ‘killer’ app (similar /better to Tidal’s which is slick) would offer. Get the new app right, add the relevant and exciting content and kids / adults / and I will sign up and follow. That’s the real opportunity here to get to $400m revenue
As a ~LTH (3 years) I've thought this company has (had) a great offering. However, doubts are really creeping and this presentation has me concerned. Whilst it sounds very exciting all the work they are doing, there appears to be very little in actual numbers to get this share price moving. There's only one statement of getting to cash flow positive by end of 2022. (right near the end of the presentation) Where is the cash coming from if is not from rights issues, loan notes etc? I can't work out from the presentation the jump from "this is the hard work we're doing and why revenue is/ will be increasing"..... then a void that really needs to be filled by how that revenue is affected by costs...... before "and then we'll be cash positive in 2 years time" Its verging on baffling with science.
I admit I could be watching this with negative goggles on. I'm frustrated by how little my kids (teens) and their friends know or even care about the "Melody VR " offering; I'm a big Liam G fan, but was the concert last year that great in terms of user experience? I was excited by it, I enjoyed it, but felt like "right, that's over what's on Netflix?" I'm worried that the management of the company see Napster as the way out and the Melody VR will be dropped. That may well be the right thing to do. But what a waste of a global lockdown not to push awareness of the product.
Why weren't Melody using those studio times to get people in and doing their version of "MTV unplugged". They had all the right setup but no one wanting to implement. Why weren't they using the space created by festivals cancelled to launch 3 days studio sessions.
In general I'm worried that all the great that NAPS/Melody has going for it, isn't producing enough income to warrant existing shareholders being rewarded. Shareholdings will keep getting diluted.
The one positive interpretation I've taken the presentation, that I feel I need to get my head round, is that the company is concentrating all its effort on Asian growth. So maybe my kids don't need to hear about it. But kids in Singapore, South Korea do. And maybe they will be using it.
All in all, I hope I'm wrong and just frustrated in my response to this, and using this discussion board hoping to be pointed to the positives I've missed.
Out of interest, I wonder how many people on this discussion board have stopped using their own musical streaming service (Spotify, Apple etc) and have signed up to Napster.
Hi Albert
i watched that presentation twice and believe in the business model going forward , that has got to give us LTH a lift , but i feel the losses and frustration as well so i would like to see that share at its fair value 5 ?? -------------- i think its going to be a bit of a slog for this share for a while and i cant see what media campaign will be starting in May which will have any proper meat . good luck to us all until the App release :)

Free set of AR/VR lightweight glasses with every 5G contract .
I agree lordfont it's just when I read it I thought it was a recent article or RNS that I've missed
DC i am not interested in 5g myself i still use a land line :) and i did not realize how much this 5g offers ( and i dont understand some of it ) but its given more confidence long term , nothing wrong with old information if the point stacks up and hopefully will give some positive thought for us LTH -------------- and of course can be debated which is why we are all here . GLA .
Rikki
5G is the next big mobile revolution , we have the potential for our new APP to be on a percentage of 1 billion existing customers with Singtel/Telefonica etc , and yes i would like to think JG will like the viewing numbers ? i will admit i personally got in to soon looking at this in hindsight but thats my issue .
Lordfont I didn't see the date till after I read it
Might be better to say it's old (13 years old) in your post
Nearly got excited with the numbers :))
