Not just you and me parkez, I am in touch with a few shareholders who share the same beliefs, I do believe this is going to be a hit BIG or go home.
Personally, I think it’s the former, particular if you watch the video in the link below.
Given we were not hardware manufacturers, we were probably waiting on others.
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=2ahUKEwjJ4qb5v8TnAhVUhlwKHRakCGkQFjAAegQIAxAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.proactiveinvestors.co.uk%2Fcompanies%2Fnews%2F304530%2Fmotive-tv-s-product-line-complete-with-tablettv-plus-launch-4530.html&usg=AOvVaw0EGW01iHjD3aBkyi_QCzSN
Blimey. A blast from the past. I had forget all about these. I held at one point 2% of the company and chatted to Len now and again. Sold out on a spike some years ago as I wasn't getting the progress I wanted. Didn't make much for the misery. I even visited the offices.
Seems its just me and you shaa...living in hope, still wondering after all these years!!
Are we dreaming? Maybe and probably...but while there is a glimmer of hope then why not keep researching and learning.
Thanks Shaa but believe me when i say i know nothing about tech, i am just reading and trying to piece things together...dont really know why. Motive and what they were developing just seems too coincidental. Not really sure but as time goes by it just seems to be coming together.
We could have hit the jackpot here...or we could be sat here in a few years time with MTV services still active and still trying to figure it out.
Fingers crossed its the former.
“Firstly i wish i was more tech savvy!”
I don’t think there has been a more technical person on this board Parkez, impressive.
I remember at an AGM Len saying MTV are not hardware manufacturers, “we are only interested in Licence fees”, so as you say they were already thinking along those lines, similar to their BYOD Tech.
I remember Dr Glenn Craibe of MTV writing an excellent blog about Gateway which was almost word for word has you described.
Also, Len did a blog as well, it went something on the lines of he was in his flat and plugged/connected something into his TPOD and got brilliant free TV.
Unfortunately, both were on MTV website which is no longer available, will report back if I find them or something familiar on the web.
Firstly i wish i was more tech savvy!
So if these tuners are installed in the same manner as described (exactly like tablet tv i pod), it has cost Motive years of development and millions to develop this tuner and app...surely the easiest way for future MANUFACTURERS OF THESE TUNERS would be to simply licence the Tpod tech?
"The most interesting thing about this setup was the tuner had no HDMI output. The antenna (RF) cable went into the tuner, and out of the tuner was a single Ethernet cable. This was connected to an off-the-shelf router, similar to what you have in your home now for Wi-Fi. Because Next Gen TV is IP-based, it's very easy to send around a network. So in this setup, an antenna and tuner receive the signal, and then it gets sent out over your home network to TVs or other devices."
https://www.cnet.com/news/next-gen-tv-is-free-4k-tv-with-an-antenna-and-its-coming-this-year/
Hmm that sounds very familiar to me. Replace "tuner" with Tablet tv and its an identical set up.
Scroll down to free tv onto your phone..interesting
"It's highly unlikely the FCC, current or future, would make any sort of tuner mandate for mobile phones. There is talk of "gateways" that would receive the ATSC signals, and then send them over your home network via Wi-Fi for you to watch on any smartphone or tablet. A sort of Wi-Fi-enabled external tuner. In all likelihood these same "gateways" would also let your current TV see ATSC 3.0 signals."
Remember Len saying in one of his interviews "we will not be the only ones but we will be out there first"....interesting.
I know at an AGM Len said that they were using the Aegean Cruise ships as a beta for BYOD so maybe the Dongle was a Beta for ATSC.
Why MTV services still active, one of our eagle eyed shareholders spotted that MTV made a statement about going into Administration to ‘minimise the uncertainty around the company’, so maybe it was to keep creditors away and ‘finish off what they were doing’ as when you are in administration it gives you a certain degree of protection.
As always, just a matter of waiting and seeing what materialises, if anything.
Hi shaa, it says that the application for patent has been abandoned. Atsc3.0 and the chip that will fit into a mobile phone and receive makes the MTV dongle obsolete.
Len will have been aware of the forthcoming Atsc 3.0 development....so we have either been taken for fools (but why is mtv services still active) or the "dongle" was just a holder for tech (to test) and will be employed into something else.
Who knows! Time will tell.....
It’s the third one down, if you click it gives details.
ATSC 3.0 Patent.
If you look at Patent Citations (16), it says Motive Television.
Don’t know if this means anything?
https://google.com/patents/WO2016149163A1?cl=ja
I thought this had died long ago.
Was always a jam tomorrow share , giving the BOD a free ride at our expence.
Administrators use a industry standard line ‘little or no value for shareholders’, as this wasn’t used by Begbies, we are all entitled to have our thoughts.
Certainly a lot of things MTV talked about are coming to fruition now - strange, as is the fact that the last couple of days the Eyetime website is down, due to maintenance.
That should read "Apple could develop their own ota mobile tv service."
No data usage...
shaa,
Content Express to me is the confusing part,What MTV have developed appears to me to be a replica of ATSC 3.0.All the chat and write ups about it being a "bridge" between the internet and OTA. Yet Len Fertig will have been well aware of the ongoing development of ATSC 3.0. Very similar development timelines.YET as far as i am aware ATSC 3.0 has been developed by a consortium of developers, each doing there own little part.(he might have been gambling on it failing?) ATSC 3.0 in reality makes Content express obsolete.(but maybe not in an individual service to mobiles)
Tablet Tv received the signals from ATSC 1.0 so was obsolete on the introduction of ATSC 3.0 without new receivers. Its the licence agreements ...That can be the only thing of value, the reason while Mtv services is still active, i can see no other reason myself?
The licence agreements are for MOBILE receiving through MTV software...
"The Base Technology Licence Agreement provides for the Motive Technology platform which enables the provision of linear and video-on-demand services to mobile devices"
My understanding that a chip has been developed for mobiles to receive ATSC 3.0.
https://www.tvtechnology.com/equipment/silicon-tuner-maker-situne-ships-3-0-receiver-chip-for-mobile-use
Whether MTV software is inside we will have to wait and see.
I am at a loss...i dont have a clue really , clutching at straws but still wondering why there is still life in MTV...surely there has to be a reason for that?
This is interesting ..
This grand vision for ATSC 3.0 would use the new architecture to pick up the slack for certain Over-the-Top (OTT) services and applications in some interesting ways. For instance, it could theoretically lease the digital air-waves to companies like Apple, Google or Microsoft for certain cross-continental transmissions, like software and operating system updates. In theory, ATSC 3.0 could be a cost-saving alternative to quickly distribute redundant transmissions that could choke the “last mile” of today's Internet service. But this will only work for phones with an ATSC 3.0-enabled communications chip.
https://www.audioholics.com/hdtv-formats/atsc-3.0-next-gen-tv-hits-us-markets-2020-1
IF you bring the highly rumoured Apple connection (lets not forget the Apple patent which WAS IDENTICAL to the Content Express developed by MTV) ,once these airwaves are freed up Apple could develop their own mobile tv service.
Just thoughts...same as everyone else.
I guess you are thinking along the lines of ATSC 3.0 parkez, if you click on the link below and play the video, all is explained perfectly, even mentions the words Anytime Anywhere.
ATSC 3.0 uses OTA and the internet combined, Content Express Solutions Platform?

adding a post!
Still active, any relevance?

It’s what Len mentioned at an AGM once, also he and Tony Combe are who the patents are registered under, including, if I remember correctly the Datacasting Patent
Only reason I can think of is motive television services have non transferable agreements.
Forgotten most things but this sticks in my head no mtv services this agreement is dead.
Acorn
Acorn television streaming service, from America.
Didn't someone mention Len had connections with a company with Acorn in the name?
A few of us are following the same articles etc as Parkez and are left with the same observations and questions.
Hi Bing Happy everything to you and yours. I this finds all good with you.
Hi Bing, it’s what Parkez was referring to, Eyetime owns the IP, why not shut MTV Services down and take the company private and be done with it.
