But isn't that human instinct to exaggerate in giving a forecast? I submitted my 'guess' on were I thought the price would be on WSG at the end of the year. I simply said 80p (currently 76p ish) and straight away I was asked what I based it on. There all saying £1.30 onwards to even £3.00! I recall a similar prediction for MTA when it was climbing and stood at the dizzy heights of 2.80p. Again, everyone was going on about 3p and above and what happened...... I don't know the reason why I posted this cos I forgotten :(
No problem mate. No offence taken. I enjoy reading your posts. We are, after all, only posting our honest opinions, even if they turn out to be incorrect. Unfortunately we don't know what's going on behind the scenes at MATRA. We have never known. I'm sure Peter Hind sincerely believed that SOKO would contain much more than 65MMbbls recoverable and that every well drilled on SOKO would initially flow at 1000bopd when he made those statements in that October 2009 investment magazine article. Unfortunately the A-13 results blew a coach and horses through his predictions. Goes to show that even those in charge of a O&G exploration company and with all the information at their disposal can get it disasterously wrong when forecasting future events.
I know of one person who has gone very quiet at least ;)
Usop went to plus then to GXG markets where it's being manipulated due to the type of market it's on..can go from 30p to £1 in a minute then back ..like here holding till the end game when you realise current sp means nothing..investing is what I do not trading so happy to hold as wrote the money off a while back in my head...honestly not sure how many I have here as been years since I checked ...will find out again when we are at 10p ;)
Moved to plus markets so what happened to your stake?
Talking of suspensions what happened to usop
Don't mean to insult so please if offended my apologies . I like provocation - that's why I like Feeds posts so much . However I always read and respect your posts . Always have done - your knowledge and insight pretty impressive though I don't always agree with your conclusions . My irk with your posts occasionally is their tone . So please continue to post and when INEVITABLY sometime in future - near future - provoke you . Just ignore. Oh my dieu am I sounding reasonable . What is the world coming to .
Hmmmm. Who are you??... ;)
Always enjoy your well informed posts. Ultra, your post of 13.46 was almost humble and I hope Stav appreciates the main thrust of your post. I think the tit for tat that goes on between you is generally healthy except when it descends into name calling. Theses boards are great for me and I have learned a lot from each of you and hope you continue to post from your different corners. Just on the pompous thing, don't think either of you are really but these boards maybe make it appear so by their nature and imparting knowledge or even opinion will exaggerate this. I reckon if the two of you ever met you'd probably get on like a house on fire!
One thing that has really impressed me about Barskiy is the complete absence of bull**** from him. I like his low key approach. No forecasts that turn out to be completely over the top. Contrast that with Hind and the interview he did with the Smaller Companies Growth tipsheet back in October 2009. He forecast at least 1000bopd from each future well drilled on SOKO and recoverable reserves much higher than the 65MMbbls best estimate given in the July 2009 RNS.
Aren't you also being pompous? Stop taking yourself so seriously, my friend. This is just a message board. None of us posting on here have a clue about what what is really happening behind the scenes with MATRA, just as none us had the slightest idea back in 2009/2010. MATRA has had a very chequered history since it floated on AIM as a cash shell back in 2005. The original investment in Hungary ended up as a complete flop. Then the Russian adventure, accompanied by the arrival of Laurel and Hardy, which promised so much, but achieved so little. Since MATRA floated 8 years ago the number of shares in issue has risen by almost 10 fold and the current, suspended, sp is a third of what it floated at. MATRA has been an awful investment over those 8 years. Anybody investing back then would have seen their investment valued at just 3% of it's original value. Only shrewd traders (unfortunately I'm not one!!) have made money out of MATRA over those 8 years. Traders who have sold into sp strength (there have been highs!) and bought when the sp has been at rock bottom (unfortunately all too often) True, I never criticised Spiritfinder for his blatant ramping in late 2009/early 2010, probably because he was basically only repeating the blatant ramping by our MD at the time. I believed Hind when he said every well drilled on SOKO would flow at least 1000bopd. I believed Hind when he said SOKO would contain much, much, more than 65MMbbls recoverable. MORE FOOL ME. If you didn't believe Hind, at thetime, that's to your credit. PS. By the way, whilst I never criticised Spiritfinder for his blatant ramping I never criticised de-rampers either. I never criticised your opinions either only the pompous way you made them. Don't forget you only started calling me pompous after I called you pompous first. Anyway this tedious tit for tat between us would stop if you didn't keep bringing up the past. Why you keep bringing up the past baffles me. You were right to be cautious in late 2009/early 2010 whilst I was wrong to be believe the bullish ramping by our then MD. Lets leave it at that, shall we?

What's your average here
Return to Russia in some form in future . Or as isolator has pointed out potential tie in with uen if or rather when MB gains control of board .
Once they are readmitted would have to outline any changes to company . This would be done in re admittance doc prior to re-entry. So in a sense no we wouldn't know until readmitted ! Good question . Lots of things going on behind the scenes . I see this going through no problems with due diligence procedure I was told highly unlikely would opt out after phase one or two . But who am I to talk as I was previously adamant that there would be no suspension and no RTO.. I also can't see MB going to all trouble of turning down many other companies he has previously looked at and done due diligence on and then opting for America unless great value
As i see it no news till the big news, and lifting of suspension,
thank you I was assuming it would have been a couple if days so glad I asked ATB
About an hour id say 7am RNS for 8 am start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can any of you guys tell me how much notice we will receive before we start to trade again or will we just burst back on the market without notice I know I should find out the hard way but we have many well informed posters here so thanks in advance ATB & GLA
Doh, but I had the best interests at heart..... This story keeps building and building regards the possible future of our beloved MTA. I could do with totally forgetting about it for 3/5 years and then register my wealth with Forbes :0 But unfortunately I couldn't possible forget about it.....
Considerable upfront value for shareholders = considerable value for Maxim! There's much more to this than meets the eye. He didn't register his investment vehicle in the Virgin islands to avoid paying tax on his investment if he expected the share price to drift around 1p.
off of the ADVFN boardthe_isolator 8 Nov'13 - 20:37 - 7157 of 7158 0 0 Poker, i emailed Oleg and said that Barskiy should distance himself from it someway either by issuing a statement or a press interview as it was damaging there attempt to gather support for the ousting of the current Urals board , he sent a reply back saying he would pass on my views to Maxim, that was last Saturday i have heard nothing since apart from he is getting Fire East website live. Personally i dont think they will stop till they get control of Urals the assets are the driver there at the very least 57mb P2 and then there could be an upgrade in reserves at Articneft he told me they could get anything between $3-7pb so that would give them a fair size war chest, and if then they took over matra or merged then the combined group would potentially be bigger than the texas merger which in turn would remove the need for a reverse t/o phase 3. Seems to much of a coincedence that mta suspension could be till some time in the 2nd Q 2014 and urals egm is 27th jan, Imho
Good morning to one and y'all. Pinched this link from MARL but it's well worth a read. Sorry if it's old news though. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/energy/oilandgas/7935231/AIM-oil-companies-take-action-over-bulletin-board-lies.html
Your post made me laugh out loud . Rather your posts than anyone else's here. We need more mischief and swearing.
