So? What happened to the pre-yearend MDA then?
songwe is central to the whole strategy. no way we're selling it.
not only that, but if we finally get an mda at songwe, it also boosts the potential value of our other assets in malawi and paves the way for mda's there too, if we choose to develop them.
i'm confident that funding is sorted for songwe, but hey, i was confident that ****nal would win today and i got that wrong!
hny to all the long termers - it'll come
Given the amount of time and shareholder cash that has gone into Songwe, I doubt many LTH's would agree with you.
I do however agree that I would far rather it be sold off, rather than us carrying it on after MDA approval. Unless we get an amazing funding deal that does not destroy existing shareholders.
But I guess the politicians meant the end of 2024, rather than 2023 for this decision?
Silly us for mistaking their words, but on the plus side, we have more time to play with I suppose :)
Looks good. If MKA can get first mover status with all the older Wind turbines there’s upto 400kgs of rare earth magnets in each nacelles. A big market over the next few years as we pass the 20year lifespan??
Gla
Thanks Gplaya
Will check it out.
HYPROMAG TO PARTICIPATE IN INNOVATIVE PROJECT - RNS Header from 12th September. Wind turbine project details included
Hi GLR1990
You mentioned earlier selected for a new wind turbine project, I must have missed this. What is it please
Personally not bothered about the mda. Mining is not an easy business and is capital intensive.
I would be more interested if they spin it out and just focus on recycling where we have less geopolitical risk and high chance of subsidies.
Last thing i want is a 20m gbp raise to support a low ROI investment in mining.
Thanks GLR1990
A very good positive overview. I think 24 will be a great year for Mkango, lots of milestones along the way. There’s still 3 days left of 2023 so you never know, It’s not over till the @@@ lady sings. As said in an earlier comment, we may not get to know anything until first few days of trading in 24.
GLA
No MDA a bit of a damp squib after all the noise
Well we end the year at £26m CAP
-18% return on investment
Still no MDA and another missed deadline / promise by Malawi Ministers, but we all have come to expect that now hence no real drop in share price or rise in anticipation (now 18 months on from DFS)
With the negatives out the way, positive developments have been made!
- Bought 100% of HyProMag
- Set up a new US sub with COTEC
- Selected as part of the MSP
- Selected for a new wind turbine project
- COMMISIONED UK FIRST RE RECYCLING PLANT (first production)
- Completed funding for German Pilot Plant
- EU made legislative changes in regards to recycling and processing (no action yet but all on paper)
So 2024 is set up to be a really good year
- first revenues
- start of German pilot plant
- scale up or production to 100t/pa from UK plant
- hopefully an MDA but not counting on it (yes would not be shocked if it doesn't get signed in 2024)
- Roll out of tech in USA / funding for pilot plant x3
- hopefully some movement on the Pulawy plant
- Magnet production and offtake agreements
All of which could again, easily eclipse our current cap - a strong 2024 awaits!
The 11627 is a buy, I wish it wouldn’t do that, very little trading today, think everyone waiting now for further news. Only a half day’s trading tomorrow so may have to wait a little longer. Remember the saying’ share dealing is for the patient taking money from the impatient’
Hello LW, yes a good read. I think I’ve seen this before but reading it again I wouldn’t be surprised if Mkango gets approached to sell the short loop HPMS technology for a huge financial gain. This has taken YEARS of research and this doesn’t come cheap.
Just bought a few more as I think it’s an overlooked biggy for 2024. Hope the MDA sends this into another gear, it should activate the Green for go button
GLA
Let’s hope so Bladey. My portfolio could do with a bit of good news. I would be surprised if they haven’t put this time to good use RE the bankable side of things.
Have to remember the BoD have been in discussion with financiers over last 2 years discussing and agreeing on all the outcomes from the MDA, so I believe the options have been set for the common cases. Which means the finance will be announced very soon off the back of the MDA. IMO.
BoD want to get things in motion asap now!
I agree it’s wishful thinking. Should be a punchy Jan though. Not that I think much will move until all the financing is in place.
Not too worried, think we might not get confirmation anyway until first few trading days of new year. If not I have a few funds ready to load up if the SP should slide.
GLA
Four days, Monica… or broken promises.
Thanks Bladey
A lovely message, same from me too!!
Kindest regards, have a good one
... Santa will be soon delivering all shareholders the best presents here over 2024 with many RNS's making all LTH's VERY rich indeed!
Spend time with friends and loved ones... and remember all those who've passed and no longer with us this Xmas in which their presence will surely be missed!
Merry Christmas from Bladey!
So many ducks lined/lining up - it's going to happen at some point IMO.
@bonkers99 "This thing's gotta end up at a quid at some point :)"
You're becoming such a deramper Bonks! lol
So, Wednesday then? :)
O MDA, MDA, wherefore art thou MDA?
Deny thy investor and refuse thy name.
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
And I’ll no longer be a investor.
‘Tis but thy name that is my enemy:
Thou art thyself, though not a MDA.
What’s MDA? It is nor agreement nor document
Nor arm nor face nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O be some other name.
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So MDA would, were he not MDA call’d,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. MDA, doff thy name,
And for that name, which is no part of thee,
Take all myself.
Mka have already said "the stars are aligning". This just adds to the perfect storm. Imagine everything come off here and then China completely pull the plug.
