Forward pe is based on analyst expectations, usually over next 12 months. Different analysts or time periods could account for the 12-14? Debt looks (and is) heavy due to the large pension liabilities they are carrying, exacerbated by low interest rate environment which pushes up the accounting value of the pension liabilities. I think this company is interesting, and price has fallen since I last looked, but am waiting to find out a bit more about how the new CEO will run things before diving in.
The role of COO has been removed following a review. Regional Presidents report directly to CEO now. Wonder if more management changes are on the cards from the new CEO?
Looking at MGAM today I notice huge variations in the PE Ration cited by different authorities - far larger than any sort of "normal". LSE here, and ADVFN agree on 124.07, Google Finance reckons 58.7, while Hargreaves and Lansdowne give a "forward PE" of 12. The London Stock Exchange cites 14 as of 31/12. If I need a lesson in how the sums work - I am happy to receive it! If it's in the 12/14 area I rate the stock, in view of all I have just read as a buy, though the debt looks heavy.
...starts soon i think. The FD seems to have done a pretty good job as interim CEO, wonder how easy he will find it to step back down. Interesting company, great products, but i wonder whether there might be a lower entry point later in the year.
over on a tung RNS today relating to this company (payment systems)
I said in December you should be looking out for this one. Back then you could have bought for 3.00 now heading for 3.50 with plenty to come this year. This is the sort of ft 250 share that is going to be in my PF for a very long time to come. Do some research into their technology and you will see what I mean. World renowned for their products and still flying under most investors radars. You might guess I am a big fan and rightly so with the returns I am getting. Regards and remember DO Rich
Share price up 15.9p today following new broker target price of £3.90
Like I said in my last post this company deserves a bit more attention, high class operation and giving a very nice return over the last couple of months. Gains like this from a world leader in its field have to be taken seriously. Morgans have just spent money on their new R&D labs in the Midlands which are a world class facility. This is one of my banker shares which just keeps giving me nice surprises. Plenty out there for you to research so I would advise you to take an hour or two to see if you see what I do here.
Things are afoot here and I would say put this on your watch list now.
Managed to snatch a tiny profit here when I sold a while back. Didn't know what to make of the news that the Chief Executive was leaving to join a private equity venture. Investec among others still calling it a buy and a new institutional investor on board but loads of main indices shares looking cheap at the moment so spoiled for choice. Give me the boy till he's 7 and I'll show you the man but others can do that and often with better results.
Queenie, definitely recommend Holland for a break - used to have an office over in Rotterdam so spent quite a bit of time over there travelling around. Mind you for flowers nothing beats Pikes Place Market in Seattle - huge bouquets for 10 bucks. The £3.066 was the price I managed yesterday morning - never caught a bottom before so quite chuffed. Looking on bright side at least yours managed to know where his phone is, my youngest managed to lose her iPhone 5 somewhere between Vegas and LA :-( Nice to see another little tick up here but hope for more as the MM's are miles away on level 2 - 326 to 329 before there is any real volume available to buy.
Home of many pensions! The worry is that they have announced publicly that they may relocate if Scotland delivers a yes vote. However, if it's a no vote then that will be more temporary good news as far as that share is concerned. Only ever bought once in £3.50s or £3.60s last August and came home from a weekend or day to Alnwick to find it sold at a nice wee profit. Had a bit of liking for oml last year - nice and steady with divi and few sudden movements. Good for the ticker.
I checked last night - I first bought 4th July. Never got any as low at £3.06 I don't think. I was saying to somebody last night that I used to have a photographic memory for details of buys and sells but I can't remember anything these days without checking. That average is quite high though but divi still to come from memory. fres bobbing about all over the place. When it took the big fall on Friday, I got a nudge about it and saw it being quoted elsewhere on the bbs as one where the ta was suggesting a hike. Sixth sense told me a 5 per cent plus fall doesn't always result in an immediate bounce up - especially when precious metal prices are tumbling and nearly another 2 per cent down yesterday so it might have been fortuitous for us to steer clear. I missed a best price for something else on Friday while gassing on the bbs but that's life. Only driven through Holland en route to Germany and stopped for an orange juice. Was struck by the amount of heavy industry still thriving and the lights under the flowers. Might go in Spring time to see the tulips. Think they have a lot of the flower business sown up. Most of the flowers we buy in Britain come from Holland even if not grown there. Shame because scent and ability to open up fully are sacrificed in the process of securing longevity. Better to buy British if you can. Hope the girls are working hard at school. Collecting my son's repaired phone later - fell down the wc. Son gave me two minutes notice of his go karting outing at the weekend and daughter one night's notice of an invitation to birthday party at a farm for twin boys. Had to scurry about looking for two cards though you can buy a twin card and, though I don't like to, put money in the envelopes as no time to shop for gifts. What would we do without them though. x
Eventually chased them back to school on Thursday, now have several weeks paperwork to catch up on. Spun my coin and these won over FRES today and I grabbed another 970 at 3.0666 this morning so now have 3,370 @ avg. £3.44 with fingers crossed for a nice little run up towards £4 over the coming months. Still not got my TB's yet as rest of portfolio really hasn't done much over the Summer so nothing jumps out as being a good time to sell. RNS's and my portfolio are like red buses at present and definitely in a drought. I don't have them but the daughters have good holdings in Std Life so I keep an eye on them. Any thoughts on the distribution? Pleased to hear you've got a few breaks planned, must get myself better organised as we've nothing till end of Nov when we go over to Amsterdam to see the Spanish Riding School.
I first bought these on the day Andy Murray went out of Wimbledon this year I think which was the only day there was rain on my fortnight's holiday in Scotland. Have to confess to trading them well a couple of times since then. Can't remember where the original funds came from but sports direct I think when I heard Mike Ashley was supporting the Rangers cause lol. I think that was the week we had the guy come on the cup bb complaining about off topic and I was waiting with baited breath for his or her insight - ended in big anti-climax as usual with these moaners on the bbs same at dge, bby etc. etc. LOL denis joined us on the bb to talk about his property near Disneyworld lol. You were mentioning Etal I think. Nice part of the country and been to there and Norham Castle on way to Lindsifarne or Harry Potter castle - gardens amazing. Hope the girls are enjoying the school hols. Schools back up here for a couple of weeks now and nearly half term already lol. Couple of breaks lined up this and next month. Son wanted to be left at home but not responsible enough for that yet whereas I'm sure his younger sister would be fine. He was okay when I said it was Paris rather than another Scottish island lol and their cool auntie is coming with us. Kids do seem to enjoy the buzz in cities. Didn't manage the Edinburgh Festival this year as a bit too busy. Tell the girls, I'm just about to finish my Ted Baker scrub and handcream. Beautiful scent and packaging all pink with butterflies. More on topic, son off with school mates to don their white coats for a day at a taster lab session at Strathclyde uni. Wish I'd done something practical like that to begin with rather than mincing around Gilmorehill. Was supposed to attend a talk later on the history of Scottish independence but think I'll just stay in and watch Murray instead. atb.
Hi, I'm here though it's not been too exciting as I'm about a grand down (approx. 10%), however pretty sure bought the same in XCH on the same day where it's the opposite way round. Going to keep hold of them though for pretty much the same reasons you've identified and also as can't really see too much wrong with them other than being nice and solid and with a reasonable prospect of a run up to £4. Hope you're keeping well.
that has set the heather on fire in my pf but some pieces of good news coming through of late and a good rns this morning on partnership with Manchester Uni. Is there anybody there?
Even bigger yesterday too! £500k plus.
Something would appear to be afoot following purchase of £185,000 of stock in one trade at years high - hmm, very interesting !
What will be interim results of Morgan Advanced material tomorrow? Any clue from any one? Looking for some advice to hold or sell today.
A company going places I now I work for them
