Correct me if i'm wrong, but was it Costco they were supplying not Walmart
***UPDATE*** Still looking for some replacement parts since the bus got wheel jacked. While going nowhere at the moment there's been opportunity to spend time chatting with customers and interested onlookers. After our street Braai (BBQ) this weekend, there was a fishy smell near our bus. Strange, as we'd had an ostrich braai. Turns out someone had tried grilling a Lonrho fish. It was so small it had slipped down the grate and got stuck. Conversation turned to the company's efforts to export "plankton" to the Americans. There was much fervent Lonrho brouha in mid-2011 about 'Oceanfresh's' contract with the mighty Walmart. However, Oceanfresh doesn't seem to appear on Walmart's product list presently. They do sell frozen 'hake' but it comes from China. Oceanfresh's local brochure doesn't show any products for Walmart neither does Lonrho appear to mention the company anymore. Fishy. kibu
SA hake and chokka fishing closed for 9 months. May be Namibia can keep the fish flowing.
well done on vod - i'm nervous about it...ex growth imv...but wtfdik as plenty of posters on here think!! oml - never looked at it; will now vlx & sdl: any interest (again)?
yep (in part) lol
I too jumped off this and zincox not so long ago. Been putting my money into high yielders of late and done well so far. In VOD so that was good today, but also in QPP (smaller amount) but not so good ... What do you make of OML as an africa play? I'm still at the bus stop on this one.
No doubt you jumped of the zincox bus in time as well. You are very astute
I boarded and left this bus in orderly fashion...letting all u other passengers know... if you had followed my departure u would have saved more than 30% ...I am waiting for this bus to be ok to re-board..passing the time.. ..tks for yr kind attention
I have been on many buses/taxis in over 40 African countries. Jollyspeculator is an odd name for someone who appears to delight in shares going south. But to be fair to him as he announced he does not hold any lonr shares, we can perhaps understand his nature. What I find patronising is him telling Kibu "Allez au Secours" I do not need guidance from Kibu nor Jollynonspeculator who appears to be in awe of the aforementioned gentleman.
pls return.. ...yr passengers need guidance
agta or zam?
a few times... ..preferred to hitch hike lol
There may be the odd noise emanating from the transmission area, but as its one of few transports available in Africa, i for one am very much enjoying the scenic beauty and...... well worth the ticket. B/W
it needs a change of oil. The cranky bus anology has been going on a while. I must apologise to Kibu. He was right in his short term predictions. Whether he is right in the future is anyone's guess. I for one am sitting on the bus and the ride is somewhat uncomfortable.Ever travelled on an African bus before anyone?
....bus clanking alarmingly
I thought so !!!
to post
Why do you revisit the clapped out bus on a regular basis. Do you still hold shares?
..more than can reasonably be said for this clapped out bus imv
Are there better places to invest in Africa for the long term ? -From a low start ? I once had an enthusiasm for VOG ! But pennies sometimes kept in your pocket.
With the Rand appreciating against the £ this is well worth hanging onto.
life, Jim...
There's still some life in the driverless clapped out bus!!!! Maybe enough to leave under one's own volition rather than being chucked off.
i'd ask the driver, Kibu, before you board this clapped out bus... ...where is Kibu? Kibu? Driverless bus...oh, dear
6.8 is a lot cheaper than I paid for them, and I've bought them three times. Well managed atm? Disorganisedly managed would be the kindest term I can think of, if the term exists.
