may as well add Marstons - up 200% - another large spend
T
If you want to play games.....
Its not all about a percentage, its also about the amount invested, like a 5 figure sum into both Apple and Amazon over 20 years ago.
Did I forget to mention the 50% increase in HSBC from a purchase near the low ,
and the 400 % in Halfords
and 130% in Saga
and 40% in BP
and 50% in Shell
and 40% in Aviva
and 50% in lgen
etc
I have a fortune invested in Lloyds and HSBC so every 1% increase is a lot of money
All apart from Halfords, were big money spends.
T
For your information
My lowest priced purchase was a bit under 24p on 21st Sept 2020 along with a purchase of HSBC shares on the same day at 285p
T
''bought at the low of 24p which is possible and if you doubled down your overall average would still be 40p. Still down over the year by 5%...''
Incorrect = you should be following more closely. I bought large amounts in the 30's and 20's.
All shares purchased in the 20[s were sold at an average of 36p . All shares in the 30's apart from a 39p purchase were sold at 39p.
In addition I made about 25 SB's in the 20's with a VERY large per point investment.
My average now on my remaining shares is 24p .I still have over double the shares of 4 years, so have the option if I so wish, sell half my shares at 48p leaving with about the amount of shares of 4 years ago which would then be for free.
So as things stand Lloyds for me is 60% above my current average.
Lloyds and HSBC are my largest holdings - therefore both being large sums.
Where do you play golf, because there isn’t any allowed in England
"I played golf the other day and on a 180yd par 3 played this amazing shot that landed 6 inches from the pin. The bit I didn’t tell you that it was 5 off the tee as I hooked the first two out of bounds."
I'm guessing you have sympathetic neighbours then?!
I am only interested in my own personal gaps.
I now have no gaps between 24p and 39p
BrassGemini -
The list is of historic gaps left by day-to-day movement on the SP chart - Gap theory suggests those gaps present a draw and so 'will be filled' at some stage - very reassuring to see all current gaps are above today's SP
One might consider a gap is like an annoying itch that needs to be scratched
