sp just stuck at 168 is this because of takeover ?
Bruce gvc have completed the deal.
As I always say use a telephone broker rather than on line. he will deal with the jobber on your behalf and negotiate well within the spread! Eg Share Centre Aylesbury or Hargreaves Lansdowne
why such a big spread? 170 to sell 176 to buy?? chat on here is a joke i won't hold my breath for a reply !
aYesterday was most traded share!
Sorry did not see this as on hols, check RNS? This worth a read http://www.lse.co.uk/AllNews.asp?code=gx0sdw7t&headline=GVC_Prices_Debt_Financing_Package_For_Ladbrokes_Coral_Acquisition_ALLISS
easyp when was the cut off to be owning Ladbrokes shares to get anything from the takeover ?
Why I intend to hold and accept the deal: "GVCs strategy of betting on acquisitions to power growth appears to be paying off, with the online gambling group reporting booming revenues and earnings last year. The FTSE 250 company is close to completing its proposed 4bn takeover of UK bookmaker Ladbrokes Coral, but the group said its 1.1bn merger with internet betting firm Bwin.party in 2015 helps to explains recent strong trading. Im struggling to remember what life was like without Bwin, said Kenny Alexander, chief executive. But I dont think we would have got this rate of growth without the Bwin business.
Sorry for the late response, in my case 1300 in cash, some shares in GVC and a number of options based on future performance. I am inclined to do nothing and accept the offer as the cash back is a form or profit taking and I am optimistic about the future of the combined group.
In todays racing post regarding FOBTS, bookmakers noted as saying: They insisted they were best placed to help tackle problem gambling because they knew their customers so well. I dont know if the area I live in is different to everywhere else but betting shop staff regularly allow customers to play on two terminals at the same time. How is this taking responsibility? Even yesterday someone was doing it and there were two staff (including the manager) sat close by.
What does the message say?
Received message today from HL re the offer from GVC. Any thoughts from fellow shareholders?
unfortunately mate i bought at 185 !!
Shall be amazed if it does not. this is a highly successful company which managers taken over companies well. initially the div will be stopped or reduced but usually within a year will be a good player. Hopefully yield of 6% +
The CMA has set a deadline of February 21 for comments, with a decision expected to be made on April 6.I see the scheme of arrangement date for the merger is 29/03/17 between GVC Ladbrokes/Coral do they not have to wait for the CMA to be completed ?
bruce once the takeover is finished will this sp rise ??
Once the take over goes through see GVC a motor!!
will this ever get back in the 180's.?????

Material synergies? MEANS simply.....Reducing duplication ....always possible with a larger group. Reducing duplication? The irony, you couldn't make it up. You must be being sarcastic or a non member of the Campaign for Plain English. Talking of PPI, there could be a similar stain hanging over bookmakers with introductory bonuses that are impossible to cash out without playing through them x amount of times or when you try to obtain your winnings they want proof of id, bank statements, utility bills etc. They hide behind money laundering as being the reason but it's obvious they're hoping you can't be bothered with all that and leave your funds online and gamble them away. Why don't they ask for all this stuff when you try to place your first deposit if they're that worried about money laundering? Like I said, the whole industry is a joke.
The bonus led Bankers are far worst with their mis selling scams PPI was just one. Material synergies? MEANS simply.....Reducing duplication ....always possible with a larger group.
