Going in the right direction, discipline from the chair and new cfo seem to be feeding through at last.
One word of caution is on the use of ebitda which, in a company where the capitalisation / amortization of r&d is skewed, is still problematic from a cash perspective.
Would be good to sell all that Chinese stock which has been written off !
Agree dab808. Everything"crossed".. Maybe this time !
Positive stuff Ironknut.
Good steady momentum building. We've been here before but it does seem a little different this time.
Yes, "possibly" one small step. Please no comments of excellent news and the sp might hold at 7p.
We keep hearing the word excellent in the context of Kromek. It is never followed by other than a dip in the sp.There must be a lot of idiots out there failing to invest here OR !!!!
And in the same month sold a Kmk CZT Veriton CT scanner
to a cancer Hospital in Paris.
It's great to see these sales and looks a sure ongoing repeat contract for Kmk.
Looking fwd to hearing some news soon re the Philips and Analogic development progress and then my guess Fujifilm next?

Looks like Spectrum Dynamics have just installed their first US Veriton CZT CT scanner. hopefully many more to follow
I saw Thier adverts and news as they built up the sales team and service centres across the states last year.

Yes - nice to see further RNSs.
Key is what level of revenue is P&L (real P&L not EBITDA where they capitalise R&D and then take out the amortisation) breakeven point and cash sustainability.
Hopefully 100% focus on cash and bottom line. I can see Basu getting excited, loosing focus and mucking about with projects that suck cash.
Another very positive RNS and good to read about the ‘excellent momentum’, long may it continue.

We've had an interesting 30% rise in the last two weeks, on no news until todays release. I'm wondering if we're becoming a little leaky. That said, do I care, no. Not if the price is rising.
I am becoming more bullish here. Whilst none of the contracts announced in the last 12 months move the dial significantly, added up there is a significant boost to revenue. Re-reading the cavendish report (50p remember) I see no reason why we're not on track for this year. I move my own view from hold to buy and will start adding again once we drift down from this RNS. I own 0.1% here, and will move to 0.2 % pretty quickly.
With global equities at a high KMK should benefit from wider shareholders looking for opportunities (as should Newmark Security as previously tipped on this board at 50p - now 85p - I own 3.1% of that smaller business).
Good luck all.

Well BATTLE,[new kid on the block}. It seems you are naive ,to be polite. Define patient as you seem to consider ten years as not qualifying.
Your choice!
WOW! You really think that pIttance of a rise is actually going to get any LTH’s excited. You really don’t get it, battletech.
How long have you been pally with Basu?
I told you to be patient!

Nail, firmly and squarely on the head, IK.
Well Billy , i think we can agree, Battle is just a drinking pal on Basu. Battle will not even admit to investing in Kromek ,let alone saying how many shares he has.Patience he says. As you point out after10+ years of Basu failure. Patience=stupidity.
Patience!
What do you call 10+ years of frustration and waiting and watching the sp slide.
Patience.....
No response yet from BATTLE. I suspect he was not foolish enough to buy. Probably just a drinking pal of Basu . His share tip has yet to make any progress !

Or drop! As per the norm.
Wow, yet more excellent news announced by Basu. Expect the sp to climb back up to 6p very soon.
Indeed this is worrying. So far ,however, High -Roller this "excellent" news seems to have escaped the attention of investors. An imminent rights issue soon, well why not.
Oh no,
Herald Investment Management Limited increasing their shareholding must have been perceived by the market as "excellent" news.
Brace brace brace, imminent rights issue soon!
Say goodbye to another chunk of out hard earned cash.
Skid,
RNS of 6th clearly shows position after transaction was holding of 6.9%.
Can only assume previous holdiding was belew 3% reportable and hence didn't have to be reported on this RNS as Prior Position.

Well said High-Roller,however we never get good news ,only excellent news. This comes from Basu several times a year, in the last decade or from shareholders on this site who only convince themselves. "Say something often enough and it must be true".
Kromek shareholders must be the only group of people who sell when there is good news. Why is that? Because they are scared. Because Basu did that last time. There was some good news, then
he did a rights issue.
If Elon Musk said he would fit a Kromek radiation detector in all new Tesla cars, the share price would actually go down. Because Basu would probably say he needs more money to ramp up production. That's what would happen for sure.

Please, please explain tell me this is not more excellent news. The sp really cannot cope.
Fibonacci, potential support levels are 38.2%, at 6.4, and 50%, at 6.0. The previous major price peak , of November 2023, high price was 6.25, which provides an area of potential support. The current retracement was signalled, when the volatility based lower bollinger band first turned upwards. However the upper bollinger band moving upwards indicates the major trend is upwards, so the retracement, will end soon, likely with the sp, zone of 6 to 6.4. DYOR.
Must be the only outfit that sees a share dip after "excellent" news. That has become the norm at Kromek.
Trend line still in play. Short little uprise with bigger sells than buys and down we go again. Possible .0275 coming and not far away either.

Pedro, i respect your opinion. Question in your opinion why do Basu and the BOD not invest in Kromek at any price ? a bargain surely at 3p and hopefully you are correct in suggesting a bargain at 8p I wonder why they do not share your optimism, what do they know that we do not ?
It will get to 30p purely on demand for product and those with history of losing money need to realise the company is different to the cash guzzling company awaiting the point of profit.the point of profit has arrived, and the future looks increasingly good from here.Demand for product will only multiply in my opinion.
Hopefully it won’t go to 30p a share via 10 for 1 consolidation!
Pedro,
Investors are now realising they value (correctly or incorrectly) this is valued at 7-8p. Next week it might be 10p, it might be 6p.
If you are correct pedro why do Basu and his chums not invest As for 30p well that is the stuff of dreams Do you predict this outfit paying a dividend also ?

Dumbolina.
The new CFO seemed to have forced change to a greater focus on cash and costs, standard but missing under Bulmer.
Interesting the use of ebitda, Buffett correctly believes ignoring some costs in a business doesn't represent reality.
More importantly there is a real issue in not treating capitalisation and amortization in the same way and taken out. So include capitalisation to increase profit and ignore amortization to increase profit.
With loan note holders having the opportunity to convert into stock it is absolutely in shareholder interests for Basu to be talking up our stock!
The momentum is with us for a change. Long may it continue.

....
Stephen Gunnion (SG): Arnab, Kromek's interim results indicate a strong first half with notable financial improvements. Can you elaborate on these achievements?
Arnab Basu (AB): Absolutely, Stephen. We've experienced a period of positive momentum, underpinned by a significant improvement in our EBITDA position and reduced pre-tax losses.
This success stems from our unwavering focus on profitability, achieved through diligent cost control and enhancing our business margins. Our growth has been particularly robust in the advanced imaging and CBRN segments, reflecting our alignment with market demands and our strategic initiatives in these areas.
SG: Could you dive deeper into the growth drivers within your main business segments?
AB: Certainly. Our advanced imaging segment, especially in SPECT and CT modalities, has seen increasing adoption of our CZT material, revolutionizing digital spectrums and enhancing diagnostic capabilities. This trend is underscored by new product launches and significant partnerships, such as our collaboration with a CT Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Spectrum Dynamics' launch of a new product.
On the CBRN front, global security concerns have spiked demand for our handheld radiation detection tools. Our contract wins and robust pipelines in this segment, alongside partnerships for biosecurity projects with the US and UK governments, mark our strategic advancements and readiness to meet evolving market needs.
SG: With the momentum built in the first half, how do you anticipate this will impact Kromek's performance moving into the full year 2024?
AB: The trajectory we've set in the first half is expected to continue, with the second half traditionally being stronger for us. We're on track to achieve record revenues, a testament to our growth strategy's effectiveness.
Our focus remains on cost control and margin improvement, positioning us to report not only significant revenue growth but also a positive EBITDA for the year. This marks a pivotal step towards our long-term profitability and underscores our commitment to delivering value.

Secular downtrend from 30/7/21, broken which is bullish, and sp, has broken above previous two price peaks, which confirms the bullish scenario. The RSI(relative strength index), is approaching the overbought region, of previous RSI, highs. However volatility based Bollinger bands are separating, signifying a fast sp, movement. If the lower Bollinger band which is currently going down, begins to turnup, expect a possible retracement, in sp.

Another bit of radiation detectors news and recognition.
At the Kmk webcast last week it was stated the Kmks handheld detectors were the fastest and most sensitive commercially available.today and that they have had an AI dept for some time working along side others depts.
All good news and recognition of Kmk advanced tech.
"Sedgefield-based detection technology developer Kromek has won a £1.3m grant to develop an AI-powered radiation sensor."
Led by DTU Space, the i-RASE project is a collaboration between industrial and academic partners in Denmark, Germany, Norway and Italy to design, build and test a new class of radiation sensor based on cadmium zinc telluride and other advanced technologies.

Dear me Mike.
You really do need to read what you have written.
I have stated absolute facts, stating an unweighted pipeline that is open to a win rate and time execution (all of which is outside the current year time period I posted about) as a counter argument isn't a fact.
you don't half talk some tosh skid,
did you bother to listen to the company webcast ...i guess not..as you couldn't be ****d last time for some reason.
so you aren't aware of the 100 million live tenders out for d3/5 handheld detectors. i'd have thought if someone was going to endless moan about the company and its management it might be wise to have all the facts.
Mrlofer.
It's interesting that the chairman bought at a much higher level when he had just joined. Now he's in and knows basu and the company he not ?
We are outside a restricted period so why not ?
Whilst there are some positive signs in the numbers there are still a lot of red flags (the simply ridiculous stock levels, the aggressive accounting on intangibles etc).
Top line growth (and the mix to r&d from product) in H1 not where it should be to scale the p&l even on the lower cost base. H2 must be hit, in the past we have had basu stating h2 was in the bag only to come up really short with excuses - we can then look at the year in totality (and with the detailed notes in the annual report).
Jury's out.
Another good day for kmk. The leader of the armchair saddos on advfn is not moaning that directors have not bought….sometimes there are perfectly good reasons all imo dyor …..
The biggest buy signal has to be the guff written on the advfn bb, a full deck of armchair saddos who believe the end is nigh.

Just a reminder, the big talk up from Basu back in 2016/2017 produced an sp in the 30-40p range. The sp in that context "remains in the gutter" when below 10p.. Promises and boasts from Kromek now are therefore treated with little trust by those of us who in the past accepted the "claims" coming out of Durham.
If timed well with a positive RNS at 10p then 25p will arrive quickly
Next stop 10-11p
Hold on to hats

Correct in every detail skid35. Wonder if mike33 is backing his claims ? Wonder also why Ourknob Basu and his fellow Directors are not buying any shares on the market ?
Important set of results.
Forget the general fluff on strategy - kmk have to show through the financials they have operational control of the business.
- Good and expanding gross margins
- Control of flat operating costs for leverage on higher revenues
- No stock / debtors write offs
- Stock and debtor turns down
- from the above a clear cash focus
Always thought kmk and basu considers the financials and operational execution a bit of an inconvenience, preferring just to strategise about the future and complain to the Times how downtrodden he is.

And???
Mars a tier 2 diagnostic CT manufacturer previously mentioned by Kmk as being engaged with, talking about CZT Photon counting CT
It's very likely we will hear about other tier 2 OEMs contracting with Kmk, some of them are already I think such as Fujifilm but under Non disclosure agreements.
"Spectral photon-counting CT measures how specific x-ray wavelengths are attenuated, which is used to determine material composition. For example, if iodinated contrast is administered to the patient, spectral CT can distinguish iodine from body tissues (bone, fat) and determine the amount present.
The combination of a color spectrum with extremely high spatial resolution means spectral photon-counting CT contributes significantly more information compared to conventional x-ray imaging. We aim to revolutionize medical imaging and significantly improve healthcare worldwide. Spectral CT, bringing color to x-rays, is analogous to that of the complex technological innovations that enabled the move from black/white television to color television. "

Another small step £1.6m in the right direction, still in good uptrend buyers paying more.
Mrlof, I would so love for you to be proved correct. Sadly Basu has been making claims for close on a decade. The story of crying wolf, does of course end with Mr Wolf finally arriving. In this situation hopefully a happy ending.
No medication just not looking backwards! This has been a shocker but that’s why it is where it is, cash burn is reducing and the czt business is extremely valuable. Not a fan of basu but he has built some decent tech which is only now seeing the benefits which is typical of tech it always takes longer to monitise than investors expect. Can’t seeing it staying private with such a gap between stock market value and business value. You only have to read the guff on advfn to see investors are all one way ….there lies the opportunity as most pis don’t spot the change! All imo dyor
