Very good RNS, very good outlook. With new products on the way (uranium pellets) and YCA purchasing more ore this summer, the outlook looks great. Way to go!
Looking also at today's Yellow Cake YCA RNS: march preceding completed purchase of over 3.45mln lb of uranium ore under 2021 contract, whilst they are looking to invest their June preceding to procure 2mln lb more from KAP. This is brilliant news
Completed sale - confirmed, this will be included in the dividend
It's almost time! The deadline for shareholders list entitled to 2020 dividends is 14th July. Then cash in bank within 1 month: 578.67 KZT per ord. share. Rounding up nicely to 98p per share at current rate.
And here we are - Superb RNS!
Sorry! Should say existing contract fulfilled with KAP (not KAZ).
YCA RNS Number from last week : 1501C - KAP referenced multiple times with regards of new fundraising for procurement of uranium. Also confirmed existing contract fulfilled with KAZ. Great stuff.
I think a lot of people is concerned about radiation pollution and incidents like Chernobyl or Fukushima. There is a lot of fear associated with the terrorism and the nuclear plants as well as corruption driving cost savings where safety should be looked at first. But sooner or later there will be technological breakthrough through inventions (like the one in Czech Republic) where uranium rods will be made safer and more eco-friendly options than burning fossils or plants. Solar, wind or water will not suffice in today's power hungry world
Well, also KAP decision to limit its production in 2021 is interesting - instead of "flooding" market with cheaper ore, they are going for quality rather than quantity. Once cooperation with China is set going (i.e. production and sales of pellets instead of crude ore) it should also strengthen business proposition and reflect in SP and uranium price. I am really looking forward to this.
YCA has also a few days ago passed resolutions at it’s AGM to allow it to raise a further $100m in shares to purchase a second batch of u308 (probably from KAP again). As supply gets taken off the market price will respond, especially when the Sprott Physical Uranium fund starts operating in the months ahead
Yellow Cake Plc (YCA) bought a lot of uranium from KAZ recently for spot trading. Their SP has been climbing up steadily. KAP may follow one day, especially when the price of uranium will raise. I am waiting on update on cooperation with China, where KAP will start refining ore into pellets suitable for use in power plant reactors
Uranium spot price at $32.5 now, I was thinking that u308 spot price will start accelerating in September due to the Sprott ETF and seasonal factors, but it may just start earlier this year. I think utilities are the key, as soon as they start contracting this will be the signal. After the hedge funds will pile in, we might see a bigger spike than in 2007. Producers such as KAZ will stand to benefit and will lock in contracts at much higher prices than today.
I mean: can't sell them same way (i.e. via website or app).
I've asked II broker on the phone why I can buy no problem those shares, but I can sell them same way. He said it's because these are international shares. Maybe same lame excuse is used by HL?
Does anyone know why you can’t trade these through HL?
Hi, I bought mine on SIPP with interactive Investor. I can do the same for SIP as well. Word of warning - you can buy via web or app. You can't sell via web or app. You have to call the broker to sell and they should not charge you a premium price for a phone call transaction
If I can't find one, I'll buy via LSE - BUT - I would prefer to invest via a UK _ISA_ Trading account.
Can anyone recommend a UK ISA one that has access to purchase KAP?
Thanks in advance.
Magic $30 achieved :-) now aiming for $35, which should come with uranium spot price increase.
Yeah I definitely agree, this is a great company with fantastic fundamentals. I am not currently invested here, but am in other uranium stocks. I want to build a stake here as soon as funds free up.
That is really interesting, I bet they found that embarrassing. I think we are at a stage that nuclear is clearly the best option we have right now for emission free baseload power, but because for some reason it is an unpopular opinion people are hesitant to publicly express their opinions.
I think given time people will start to see that renewables are not all they are cracked up to be (at least until there is grid scale battery storage), but you are right it will take time. But two interesting case studies are Germany and Japan.
Germany has the most expensive electricity of all of the developed countries in the world. I am sure most people wouldn't choose nuclear power as their first choice, but given the choice between +45% higher energy prices vs the EU average, people will start to see the benefits. It also blows my mind that Germany closed the nuclear power plants only to build coal.
Japan had a price spike of LNG/energy prices during a brutal cold storm that hit the country, causing the energy prices to go up exponentially at a time the country most needed it.
And then we have Texas energy price spikes and grid problems.
I think people are happy to be picky and shun nuclear until they get supply disruptions or high prices, then they realise just how important reliable emissions-free baseload is and that is where nuclear excels.

You are absolutely right. The only thing is that these are international shares and many brokers do not support automatic trading. In my case I can buy online but I can only sell via phone. Stupid, but there you go. This company is very strong, planning well it's future production and paying good dividends. As I said before, what's not to like ;-)
Deserves to be higher today, considering most major uranium companies booked double digit gains yesterday. With the likes of Cameco +10%, Nexgen +13.8%, Paladin +19%, Boss Energy +29%, Bannerman +29.6% putting in stellar gains on the day.
I am guessing spot price moving significantly will be the catalyst to really move Kazatomprom.
Excellent RNS paving path to $3 plus for this share.
