Candid - thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated.
Uranium certainly on the move, and hopefully has some legs to go so it’s between KAP and yellowcake for me to get some exposure.
Thanks again and all the best
ID78, yes not everyone offers this, although it’s listed in London it’s classed as an ‘international share’ and traded in US dollars. I use Interactive Investor platform, they are good for international shares. Maybe call up HL as they might do it over the phone.
An *account* with H&L … flippin phone
Candid, how do you buy this? I have an accountant with Hargreaves Lansdown- I can’t see this as an option with them.
Thanks in advance

After more than a year of sideways chop KAP look set to join the uranium rally. Compared to Cameco, KAP has seriously underperformed, just look at Cameco’s 5 year chart!
KAP is more leveraged to a rising uranium spot price and bigger, more profitable.
Sorry, was being lazy, according to their website between 26th April and 2nd May
Anybody know when this should be please?
I was wondering the same thing myself. It will be interesting to see what they’ve got planned and to see what happens here.
How should we interpret the following statement :
"Agenda of the general meeting of shareholders:
...
5. "On concluding a major transaction, as a result of which NAC Kazatomprom JSC acquires or alienates (may acquire or alienate) property, the value of which is more than fifty percent of the total book value of assets of NAC Kazatomprom JSC at the date of making decision on the transaction, as a result of which more than fifty percent of the total book value of its assets is acquired or alienated (may be acquired or alienated), including a Long-term contract for the purchase and sale of natural uranium concentrates and other transactions for the purchase and sale of natural uranium concentrates with CNNC Overseas Limited"
Are they trying to tell us they are negotiating something big with CNNC Overseas Limited?
They have room to increase the dividend significantly IMO. Why do they choose to preserve a high cash position?
Kazakh national atomic company Kazatomprom announced the completion of the shipment of uranium via the Caspian Sea to Romania. The uranium will be used by Nuclearelectrica to start production at its CNU Feldioara processing plant, which the Romanian company has said is now ready to begin operations.
Kazatomprom said it won an open tender for the supply of natural uranium oxide "for the needs of Romania's nuclear power industry" in December 2022 and has delivered the material in accordance with the terms of that contract.
Yes nick, I am also a POLY holder as well as STCM, I sold some STCM to hedge with KAP on the divis, so time will tell as to whether that was a good move, fingers crossed.
There will be recommendation for AGM during this Month (April). This is from the recent conference call.
Yes, there is potential for substantial increase in divi.
Taking into consideration the production increase after 2023, we don't need higher uranium price for descent divi.
Nice to own in Kazak along with POLY.
When do KAP announce their dividends? I have ex div and payment dates in July but when do they tend to announce? Looking at financials from last year I would imagine a considerable rise in Divi this year anybody got any thoughts?
Tumbleweeds rolling by...
Surprised so little interest in KAP, will top up any dips while hoping war ends soon.
although huge sales today, so the price may drop again.
Yes. Watching quietly what's going on. Looks like KAP shares are recovering after a period of turbulence. Possibly due to coming dividend payments. These shares never dissapoint when it is coming to payout.
Is anybody else following this?
KAP’s share price relative to other large uranium producers might now improve, if Kazakhstan can continue to show that it will remain distanced from Russia’s war.

I’m watching to see whether the Kazakh government can continue to resist openly supporting Russia’s aggressions. My strong suspicion is that it’ll fold. In which case KAP share price is heading for another big drop, as it then faces the very real prospect of global sanctions.

Valdimir Putin's equivalent to Nato — the Collective Security Treaty Organization of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Armenia, Tajikistan, and Belarus — is convening in Moscow next week to give cover that Russia is not alone in its war against Ukraine.
For now, Kazakhstan is managing to walk the line of neutrality. But my sense is that if the Kremlin decide they want the Kazakh government to come down off the fence and clearly demonstrate their loyalty, Kazakh won’t fight it, they will cave. And I f that happens, the West will put Kazakhstan in the same bucket as Belarus, meaning heavy duty sanctions. The Kazakh government know this of course, but they also know that there’s no way that the West will come Kazakh’s aid if they decide to make a stand and resist Russia. Plus the Kazakh economy is tightly tied to Russia’s, so the government may reason that extra sanctions pointed at them won’t make much difference. So in the round kowtowing to the great beast on their northern border may be viewed as the lesser of two evils.
If Kazakh do indeed succumb, and voice their unequivocal support for Russia…. Kazatomprom’s share price will end up in the toilet.
I think there’s another dimension to this, apart from reliance on Russian banks. The Kazakh government have been careful not to condone the invasion but will this be enough? Moscow have huge leverage over Kazakhstan and I can foresee Russian interference ramping up that will require them to demonstrate nothing less than absolute loyalty. Once the Kazakh government announce their full throated support for Russia, as they inevitably will have to - what then for Kazatomprom…?
I think the writing is on the wall.
This is down because of uncertainty of KAP’s dependence on Ruski banks and on it’s significant use of uranium enrichment in Russia.
The sooner they cut ties with the lying, deceitful, untrustworthy and murderous Russian regime the better. Until then they are not investable in my opinion.
It baffles me how criminally undervalued Kazatomprom is. With the imminent shift into a nuclear frenzy, you would think the lowest cost, highest grade, biggest margin, leading producing uranium company with the biggest reserves and exploration upside would be trading at least 50% higher than here. Definitely a good accumulation zone if you have the spare cash to put in.
“There’s Kazatomprom and then there’s everybody else.”
Oh, and they pay a dividend whilst you wait.
Nice finances for FY2021 despite all things happening around - healthy profit, but no mentioning of the dividends. Unless I misread the RNS. Anyone any idea?
