Some health buying so far this morning, hopefully it will carry on retracing its upward trajectory in June which was interrupted throughout May.
Starting to look good again barchid. Short term traders gone now, and back to a solid investment. I think we will be rewarded long term.
adv
We have about a month only now for the results which I can only surmise should again be very encouraging, certainly turnover on their platform must be good & with low fixed overheads we should reap the rewards.
Reminder regarding Capital Reduction. (rns 7/4/21)
>It is anticipated that the initial directions hearing in relation to the Capital Reduction will take place on 18 June 2021, with the final Court hearing taking place on 29 June 2021 and the Capital Reduction becoming effective on the following day, after the necessary registration of the Court order with the Registrar of Companies has taken place.<
Barchid, Don't seem to have received latest 3.5 p div. Do you have yours or did you do a DRIP?
I got my dividend yesterday - even though my broker is behind with other dividends.
Who's going to be the first to mention the distributable reserves being available for a dividend bonus ?
eccles
My divi appeared in my iweb a/c yesterday morning about 09.00 & in my wifes about lunchtime so if yours was being sent by bank transfer you should have seen it by now I'd have thought. If you usually receive it by cheque, then that depends on the post.
Hope this helps
It takes a couple of days for shares to show up on drip system
Me too, I have a suspicion that the next div could be at least 10p.
Hi Eccles, what gives you that suspicion.
I would think any extra benefit, would be included in a special divi isf at all this year. I think a divi of 3.75 to 4p realistic, based on share value over the2021 period. Maybe even a divi as per the last. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows.
Royc:- I am adding a "normal" div, possibly in the range of 3 - 4p as you suggest to a special div from the release of the share premium account - thus meeting the board's indicated capital reduction plan. Plus a guess that someone in the family wants some cash for who knows what.
That's OK Eccles, but I doubt they would add a special divi to a standard routine quarterly divi if thats what you are implying. We will see on around 14th July. Cheers for your reply
It's what they usually do @RoyC - although they don't always bother saying it is special - this is one where they did (and they certainly have the reserves)---
The Board of Jarvis are pleased to announce that, on the back of recent trading activity referred to in announcements during April 2020, it is declaring a second quarterly interim dividend of 11 pence per share. The dividend is paid in accordance the Company's dividend policy but also includes an additional sum which the Board have elected to include following the Company's strong trading this year and previously undistributed reserves brought forward
Very true Eccles, that was followed by a 14p divi and 12.5 divi, as the shares rose significantly, to create a split, followed by a 3p and 3.5 divi, which reflected in the share value at the time. Jarvis sold there treasury shares, at a price £2.50 which was the calculated value of the company at that time.
We will see next month. Hope your suspicion is right. Cheers
duke
What in the accounts makes you pick 7p as a special we have extra distributable reserves yes, but are they going to distribute everything or prudently hold some of it back for a rainy day ? What do you think our distributable reserves are worth, per share?
7p is 28p in the old form, optimism is a wonderful thing but what facts do you have to back this up with, & if you do why is the rest of the AIM universe not picking this up ?
As a LTH of over 5 years so far I am most interested to hear your reasoning please.
Hi barchid, I think dukes suspicion comes from the Jarvis last RNS feed, 11th June, they mention, the cancellation of the treasury shares, form part "Of" future distributable reserves. But I think this would be in a special divi. Who knows?
Royc
I did read that RNS but my question repeats, where does 7p come from, or 28p in the old form, what are the distribubale assets worth per share ?
Baby Dee sang a great song, "let me be your fantasy", do you really think those shrewd managers in T Wells still go to house venues and dance to it ?
Or do you think their maths drives them after reviewing the balance sheet ?
If you think the former perhaps you should be investing elsewhere?
Well we shall see soon enough, but frankly I prefer reasoned arguments to throwing a dart in to the board and tout that as the answer.
But again, perhaps duke is Mystic Meg in disguise ?
As I mentioned "part of" was the statement used.
I think Duke assumed a 7p addition to the divi. Not my opinion or suspicion. We'll leave it there.
Cheers
Royc
I understood what you said and that you did not mention 7p, sorry am I missing something ?
For once, an argument I am not part of. Seems LSE message boards are becoming slightly toxic. Just like the old days.
adv
Oh come on, a lively discussion, hardly an argument, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something....
We all have differing views on the divi, ultimately time will tell.
The 7p was just a guess from me but never mind that, the MM could be running a bit short which is quite interesting. Here is what has happened in the last three days:- Today bought £19k, sold £14k; Yesterday bought £33k, sold £nil; Friday bought £32k, sold £nil
eccles
I understand you but do bear in mind that the buy/sell labels are allocated on the basis that if you trade above the mid price shown you are a buyer & if below you are a seller, but I am sure you have sometimes bought stock below the mid price, thus lse board shows your trade as a sale when in fact it wasn't ?
These blues and reds are an indication but nothing else, in reality.
Nevertheless I also fancy we will see a special divi but not really sure of how much.
