I just don't get the valuation of this company - almost £1.8billion?! Neither long (you may have guessed!), nor short, but can't fathom how this trades on such an enormous p/e?
mistimed my last short and got out quick at a small loss. shorted again at around 300p. I cant see this finishing september above 250p
I read almost everywhere that retaliers that use JE are fed up with pricing structures. Have you heard about the competition? ie Preoday? I was going to buy JE but not now as i see it too much of a risk inc the expected markets correction
And thus we are rendered ever more unable and ever more dependent.
Not only that one can't bother to make his own meal but one can't even bother getting his own takeaway ? Yep , if fattening would be Olympic sport we are guaranteed a medal. Now that je. Business model appears to make profit, there will be others (competition ). Low setup cost, high margine , we will soon see another (fatty ) kid on the block. Even than je. should be able to continue making money, but valuation is ridiculous ATM .
they forego the commission on a lost order - BUT its still far too high on food orders in my opinion, and if I had my way - which may be very soon - our price's listed on JE will be increased 15% to cover the costs involved for the trader = customers go back to driving to the take away etc for their food.
for them just now! Everyone in the same trade as mine (food outlet) have got themselves into a mind set. Each business owner thinks they are losing trade because the guy next door has set him / her self up with just eat. Once they realise that fake orders cost the trader money (JE only pay out 30% on a lost order that is not the traders fault) coupled with the hefty commission they charge - then the traders will should start realising that JE is not the utopia they had expected. I'm just back in from making some strong comments to the JE service staff about this very issue that occurred today. They now know where I would like to stick the machine ! When the Sp reaches £1.50 ish then I might start buying - maybe. Each to his own I guess?
Yes it's a big valuation but II's believe in this company and the first set of results were excellent, I'd expect such a company to make more money in the second half of the yr also due to ppl staying in from the cold.
This level of openness about shorting on a bb before
I think you r right. But than again, from same basket, asos OCDO and few others still mentain ridiculous valuation. Je. Not is not cheep to short, big margine required, but I think option to short it might soon be closed. Gla
this company is massively over valued by the time i have enough money to short it it will already be a pound whats interestig here .which i have never seen before is a single investor talking about been long on this company thats hilarious i willput a grand in next mth all being well
YoU really do speak nonsense my friend
They have just took my short aswell, surprised to see it up this morning but has to fall below 250 soon
Opened short ig index no problem with stock borrowing this morning.Massive incentive plans for staff according to Quester could cost £5 million on profits £24.10 million. The Directors are "sharp " operators !! They have loads of competition Hungry House etc. so think the upside risk is limited and hopefully share price will fall to realistic PE ratio.
Spreadex have took my short, I dont have much in this account as it is very much a back up account so a smaller position than I would of liked but Im pretty sure it will be a profitable one, got a target price of around 220. If you like shorting look at CPR, amazes me how thats surviving above 500.
Just call them up and request a position. They can usually oblige, even if it shows as unborrowable. I'm now short of this overpriced business.
I need a new SB and CFD provider
Yep wont even let a little at IG, Any good alternative SB'er?
Can't get a short position on IG "due to stock borrowing limits"
hlmarkets wont let me short? anybody else having this problem?
252 and still rising, Im still watching very closely
So am i, tempted to do it now though.
no position either just yet but anywhere near 250 and ill be checking level 2 and looking at a short
can't help but agree with you. yes, I get the fact that it's growing quickly, etc., but surely the current valuation is counting on utterly fantastic growth and rising profits many years into the future?! not holding a position either way, but just looking in.
