Cool link - didn't know Arlene Foster backed the project that much : >
Snow, have a look at synopsis for the planning application from NI gov I've saved from my research 6 months ago. It's at the bottom of this link. The application was accompanied with a thorough environmental consultation for the leaching plant and a sea-water pumping station. Elsewhere, I recall the application included also a 450m pipe (with a diffuser) for the discharge out to sea where the currents are at their strongest. https://www.planningni.gov.uk/de/index/news/doe_planning_news/news_newsreleases_archive/news_releases_2012/gas_storage_boost.htm
This Stewart Dickson fellow is not just a local environmental activist, but East Antrim MP for Alliance Party in N.I and also Vice President, Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe. He has been very outspoken against the proposed salt caverns since at least 2016.
Could this be amongst any reasons our EU grant was refused ?
I hope any differences can be resolved and we can move on here.
'Spot on Humpalumps and reading the link "to commence construction works!" those are the words .The Marine Licence application is "in hand" and will finally be sorted when the results from FEED are proven to work ( regarding salinity of the brine)... no problems or issues are expected.'
Can't the results from FEED be proven to work only AFTER the first 2 caverns are constructed?.....or am I missing something?
Snowman, not negative just common sense?
I’m not expecting any funding news until we get that license.
Sorry to sound so negative in posts below, but Dawski DID ask for opinions and it's good to talk out concerns. I guess I'm looking for specific assurances on the issue because it's so vital.
Good links Humps, relevant indeed....but no mention (that I can recall) specifically of the requirement for an updated EIA in any RNS (needed I suppose because of the extra 15 caverns?)....yet that letter in the link is dated 19th Jan 2019.
JW says make your own minds up when enabling works starts in a few months........but surely, something as fundamental as this licence HAS to be in place before equity/debt decisions can go ahead?
Is this licence covered by UK or EU legislation ? Will Brexit affect it?
JW has responded to some probing tweets but imo INFA really needs to immediately, specifically and totally clarify (oficially) the current position on this licence....as it is extremely important and extremely price sensitive.

'The FEED results will need collated and presented in order to convert the draft licence into the full licence imo'
imo...because of the absolute fundamental need for that licence, this should have top priority. There has been more than enough time to collate and present those results. I doubt if the delay is our end due to the primary necessity of it.
But a delay somewhere in the pipeline on that one would certainly explain the delays in equity/debt.
McAdder has been uncharacteristically quiet on the posting front and he usually seems to be in the know as to current status....would be nice to hear his views on it.
3 term sheets already on the table AFTER due diligence completed. Make your own decisions Signing off :)) GLA
Spud, does this mean we’re in limbo until we get the licence? Any funding partner will surely want assurances.
We are not overdue a decision The FEED results will need collated and presented in order to convert the draft licence into the full licence imo
Had another look....you can just make out a few and seems 2-3 months has been the case on some.
In which case we are OVERDUE a decision.....there has been no RNS regarding it......so what is the hold up?
Marine Licencing Register
https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/articles/marine-licensing-public-register
That is very very naughty of them.....the public cannot see the dates granted...every single one of the dates has been truncated...so we can't see what the normal time is between application and decision !!
Very Very naughty indeed!
I thought so. So we have no obstacles in the way for this marine licence.
Last December
When do we get the FEED results.
We have a draft marine licence which needs FEED results to confirm the various designs etc. From the completion of FEED RNS "it is clear that nothing material has been uncovered during either the surface FEED works carried out by Costain or the subsurface FEED works carried out by DEEP KBB that should physically prevent construction of the gas storage facility." GLA
Didn’t have my glasses on !
Cheers Radders, looks like Oct 2012?
Looks like applied for in Oct last year and in progress. Assuming this is up to date https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/articles/marine-licensing-public-register
I suspect local politics has much to do with the anti tweeting: they have local council elections in NI in early May. Well done JW and team for making Infa's position clear, a great project, great for all, imo. Looking forward to the coming days and weeks.
Morning all, seems to be a lot of talk about the Marine license that we need, can anyone shed any light on it, cheers
I'm working with a commodities broker today (on an IT project) he trades Gas and renewable energy across EU....he confirms that Gas storage is an absolute necessity and has taken Infra as a tip to invest in personally...his positive intervention has helped me keep the faith today into next week.....need the BOD to show renewed positive intent this week.
