Droderick, you’ve reinvigorated this board and made a passive follower like me comment! Totally agree with you, we SHs have a voice too and we must use it.
Dear Whatamess,
I will not stoop to their levels. It is a pointless course of action. They have a voice and they have chosen to use it in the most vile form on Twitter and FB, and here, by being disingenuous and misleading.
You are absolutely right - we deal in hard facts that will be independently corroborated by DAERA. We too have a voice and we will use it to make our point.
Wow !! What a weekend of memorable ( at least some !) postings on this Board ..58 and counting ..usually very quiet on Sundays ..I wonder why so many !!
Droderick and others have done us proud .I too have had a tour of N Islandmagee this year ."Pitiful, abandoned, decrepit, in dire need of investment of all types, dejected, rejected, hopelessly cut off " ...............these words come to mind...As you say the nearest Pub/Community enterprise is miles away nearly as far as Carrickfergus on the shores of Belfast Lough. There is no quick easy access to Larne Port ..and talking of which perhaps the less said the better this eve as I surely will be in deep ****. Urgent capital investment and public spirited encouragement badly needed not the clap trap and quite simply vicious and darn right rude anti Infa sentiment constantly produced. We need to stay focussed and to do something positive and we will do just so when enabled to move over the current choppy times. You bet !! Well done Lads on some superb welcome and well constructed comments today ...59 and counting !! Sleep well !
Older,
Yes I remember all too well the shenanigans over at SXX before and during planning phase 1, I remember that phase 1 got turned down didn't it? but then common sense prevailed. There is trouble there presently though, the costs for that project are huge and they are now in financial difficulties!
I can see certain similarities between Infa and SXX at the early stage, local economy, jobs, local landowners were paid fortunes, they had local MP's behind the project and the economy will receive a huge long term boost? However I did always think that it would be a huge task to create a Potash mine underground but I did thing that CF would pull it off with his previous record and contacts. Let's hope he still can for the local economy, jobs and the thousands of small local shareholders involved.
For the record I sold out just before the initial planning hearing at a nice profit, makes a pleasant change!!! I stuck with for a few years suffering the up's and downs in the sp from 2p to 30p, I remember that the chat board was superb in those day's with holders arranging get togethers and even CF joined the board for a quick Q & A session!
Anyway as I say many similarities with Infa, but I believe Infa is a lot less risky, lower capex, no huge underground tunnels required, but this project will probably boost the NI economy as good as the SXX project in N/Yorks, and should be welcomed by all!! bar none!
Mr T
Seeing as this is the hottest thread on this board, and finally some sense is being shared on this platform ( thank you droderick, mr triumph, speedy and other sane voices) I would like to share my twopence worth. That infa has a long term game plan for northern island in these troubled times is clear from their acquisition of H&W. What LD and the likes are doing is trampling on the hard work and grit of enterprises that want to bring growth to the region by shouting baseless nonsense from rooftops. What do you have to show for your years on the planet LD? At least infa are creating jobs while playing by the rules. You are just deploying underhanded tactics and subverting honest players. Also, there is a difference between representing the voice of the people of Islandmagee vs running an outright anti-Infa campaign. The protesters agenda is against infa and the government and the regulators and the environmental agencies. In their opinion they know best above all the legitimate and official experts. How does that work? This protest is a plain and simple anti-infa campaign disguised as an environmental protest. Why are you anti-infa LD? Are you against local development? My money is behind JW. Quite literally.
ITS a free world speech etc but stop the crap . The locals want jobs and jw will see to that . What happening here is like what happeneed to me at ujo then dropped to .08 then i got a over 3 bagger out of it . Same type of do gooders there green energy etc and turning up for meetings in big cars jokers gla im in it to win here . I can see a winner here when i see one . Oh by the way sxx is difference look at our mkt capt
Dear Whatamess,
I had some very strong views against the board coup in June 2017. They turned out to be correct and the two guys who engineered to coup eventually gave way to a team who have actually done this in the past and know exactly what needs to be done going forward. History is history and we must move on. What I am not prepared to do is to sit on the sidelines and watch these nonsensical protestors crater our share price for no justification whatsoever. As long term shareholders, we grew our respective pairs in 2017. I firmly believe that we need to grow them again and stand up to all this rubbish being floated around. If we don't support our management team, we are not supporting ourselves. All of us as shareholders own a little bit of this company and this is what we are fighting for.
Just catching up on this debate, if one can call it that, between the tree huggers and the Infa LTHs, I am really rather struck by the similarity to share went on at Sirius Minerals a couple of years back, as they were attempting to get their flagship York Potash project approved by the NYNPA in the face of spirited opposition from various vocal but minority interests.
And guess what, logic, hard work and an overwhelmingly positive case won the day.
Thank you Mr T,
I have sat this out and observed all of their shenanigans for the past 12+ months and I think it is time we as long term shareholders called them out for what they are - FAKE NEWS and disingenuous actors. They have zero appreciation for anything that JW and the team are doing and wish to create obstacles at every stage. Trouble is when they spout the same rubbish day in and day out, it becomes gospel and puts doubt even in the most rational minds. This is just not on. What amazes me is that they claim to be local residents and yet they are quite happy to have the next generation of boys and girls sitting idle without no employment and future for themselves and their future families. The harsh reality is that Islandmagee is one of the more impoverished areas. Having personally been there many times, the closest half decent takeaway is 3 miles away at Whitehead. There is no semblance of any social activity or even a "pub down the road". When you speak to the young and bright minds who live there, they would love to continue living there with their families but are now having to look elsewhere for a decent living. Infa is not attempting to be altruistic or to be a charity. But with a combined force of the Islandmagee gas storage project and Harland, why is it so difficult to understand the fantastic potential of rejuvenating Northern Ireland and make key areas happen again? We all care for the environment, the porpoises and the dolphins. That is why Infa are playing ball with DAERA and that is why those environmental conditions need to be strictly enforced and followed. But equally, charity begins at home. What of those young minds who want a future for themselves and who are being deprived by this mindlessness and drivel that is being bandied around? Northern Ireland is one of the few locations in NW Europe that actually has the potential of growth rates higher than most other locations. Looking at JW's strategy, we could not have asked for a more dynamic location sitting in one of the most stable sovereigns (regardless of Brexit). There is a bright future for the company, for its shareholders and for the people of NI. It doesn't require a London based company to figure that out. It should be warmly welcomed by the local community which, as Spud says, has been the case with the majority.
You are right, whatever JW does and says, nothing will change in this group's hearts and minds. I for one am fully supportive and wish this company great success on its journey.
Droderick,
I am very impressed with your arguments, tone and knowledgeable posts along with a few LTH on here you seem to understand the IM project inside out and upside down!!
Problem is though, you will never obtain an ounce of agreement from the protestors either on here, twitter or the fleecebook I'm afraid. They have only one agenda, to stop the project going ahead, they will not listen to reason, nor are they interested in gas security issues or local jobs, a little like the Eco warriors or climate protestors, some of the garbage they spew is frightening to ordinary folk, again this is because they are brainwashed into thinking in one direction, once that occurs, that's it no turning back. Look at those eejits protesting at the tube station recently, one of the greenest forms of transport, but I don't think it's all about the climate etc, I think it's all about them!! personally and the fact most of these people have nothing else to do and are bankrolled by rich parents!!
I don't think our friends have any worthwhile research to present to us nor would they have, far too much trouble to gather together information and then to try and understand it thoroughly and then to post it on a public forum together with links to back it up!! No, much easier to post drivel and wind folk up and wave banners at meetings etc, simple things for simple folk I'm afraid.
Thanks again though Droderick, nice to see we have some locals with vision and a complete understanding that this project is a no brainer and is as safe as any infrastructure project can be, and that the people running this project are more concerned with any environmental issues than the so called protesters.
Mr T
Stublach is irrelevant in this context. Why don't you next ask about what the other 400 caverns across Europe have done this year? When boxed into a corner, do not obfuscate the issues by diverting attention to other meaningless questions. I have only the following questions for you based on the campaign that are running against Infa:
1. Do you have any third party independent environmental reports to back up your claims?
2. Do you have third party independent reports on Infa's construction methodology that you can dispute?
3. Do you have third party independent reports on the revenue generation capability of the gas store that stands in contrast to Infa's?
4. Given that you have constantly berated Infa about its financial position, do you have enough funds to run this protest campaign?
We shareholders have been very appreciative and are deeply impressed by your transparency and honesty. If the answers to the questions above are a resounding NO, please do be transparent and honest this time around as well. If all of the above are a resounding YES, we shareholders will arrange to provide you with enough cloud storage to upload these reports for us to read.
Till then, all you are doing is spreading FAKE NEWS, which has become more of a rule than an exception for protestors such as yourselves.
........ what's the difference?
Lol guys, I’m going to enjoy the rest of my Sunday, suggest you do too ... think we’re sucking the life out of this chat board today .. go well all & chat soon :-)
Spud. Yes I still follow the goings on over at Islandmagee, though I've blocked the vile /fake news protestors and rarely post on Twitter.
Lisa, to her credit is very resolute in her mission, but still wrong. It's too bad she forgets to use her mouth and 2 ears in proportion!
Exactly Speedy!
The protesters campaign has focused on sp decimation from day one!
But now infa have thrown a lifeline to Harlands they have back peddled slightly. However the more toxic posters have "forgotten " this and continue to criticize anything infrastrata related.
I have been in contact with supportive locals and some of the stories of intimidation are shocking!
From sitting outside taking pictures of everyone entering the public meetings to going to people's homes....
Guys why not address the links I’ve posted & qs on Stublach? It is pertinent info I’d have thought?
Everyone has to wait for the enviro reports to come in ... any comment now would be on 10year old info, which wouldn’t be appropriate... You could look at the gas storage issue in the EU & comment on that as it’s all I’ve posted here today (apart from the toxicity of brine that you already know about..). A lot of what is discussed here is opinions, I thought that was how chat boards worked?
Yes there are residents who are angry at the company, & may express that in a more antagonistic way than I would, just like there are accounts that very abusive that you team up with on twitter Spud, but I think treat people as they treat you. I chat to other SHs who have liked antagonistic tweets, but they are fine with me, so it’s grand. That’s life.
Lisa. You just don't get it do you?
You try to take food from the lion's den and hope not to get mauled?! Lion's work hard to get their food. Look what do you to get yours!
Spud,
LD has close interaction with the most vile comments on Twitter and FB. LD has not once condemned the behaviour and language exhibited against JT and JW for all these months. There is no use pretending to be nice and cordial here whilst spreading the viciousness on other channels, whether directly or indirectly. This is clearly a good cop/bad cop approach that the group has deployed. Trouble is, whether nicely delivered or not, baseless FAKE NEWS is still just that
You do however have serious interactions with the most abusive, aggressive protest Twitter account.....
Kleenex?
Speedy I treat everyone as I find them ... I happily converse with SHs on twitter, & and I’m not abusive to anyone ...
LD, why play the victim card all of a sudden now that your flakey claims are being called out? Have the courage to stand up to your empty claims. Do not hide behind the curtain of "waiting for Infa's reports to come in". Show us your reports and your evidence to disprove all that Infa have been saying - how difficult can that be?
All you have done is throw mud at Infa, challenged their credibility and work on the basis of nothing but opinions at best and lies at worst. The shareholders are completely entitled to challenge your drivel. We have honest monies and aspirations invested here - what have you got invested at any level for that matter?
I just like the fight and the wind up if I'm honest
Lisa. It doesn't feel good when the shoes on the other foot, eh? You best turn the other cheek now like you do on Twitter with your buddies there.....
JR. It took quite some time but we're all relieved you've come out of the closet finally revealing your true colours - a fully committed anti-INFA protestor. Good luck sport!
