Interesting drove past the Belfast site this morning ,some significant building work commencing in the foreground …
Excellent news 5 million contract ,,team resolute will be putting our case forward to build those fleet ships imho, intresting mod technology base in south ,Appledore comes to mind ,Boris visited when JW bought yard stating shipbuilding returning to British waters and Appledore was an historic shipbuilding yard and also mentioned apprenticeships and new carriers for the yard ,dyor but I think anyone can work this out imho gl.
Johnny ,there's alot happening ,I hope you do get some good news for Belfast yard
That cancelled submarine contract with the French by Australia and the joint agreement with USA and Australia and mod to build submarines is interesting ,going to be some big contracts on that front I think prefabricated etc ,going to need some big shipyards to build them I think between them let's hope H&W group get some work
As someone who lives locally I think it’s (the name change) a good move as it indicates local ownership reviving visions of what was once a huge and influential Ulster company …
Has JW not stated decision will be made very soon ?,it's just another string to the now newly named H&W ,Oh the Canadian ship that's been mentioned will that be fitted out to ship gas to the British mainland ??,just a thought ...O/T--- Lot of activity at Barrow atm, think we still have that dockside land there don't we?,wind turbines??
I agree BP, a strange time for a name change when a decision is pending.
Sincerely hope we are wrong.
That was my initial concern as well, BP. Either from the back burner to down the back of the stove or a lengthy re-jig to incorporate hydrogen. With all that entails, new PC etc.
But then again, this recent gas issue might re-focus the powers that be.
To add, I am concerned, however, that the company name-change suggests a move otherwise.
Let's hope that the current mess expedites a positive decision. Just maybe, the delay will work in our favour.
In terms of gas supplies we are already into a beast from the east scenario and winter has not yet started. Will the incapable hand sitters ever make a decision?
Looks like a lot of potential suitors for these 2 vessels......

From what i can find Si Scillonian 1V is just waiting funding from Gov levelling up fund and Appledore in with a good shout.
Soz, existing Scillonian III.
All the bits on the sidebar are in the full program, OT.
That bit with BMT ( our team Resolute partner) working on the new Scillonian IV and the history of Appledore making the excisting Scillonian II makes one wonder if they could put a word in. :)
