Disagree. Guidance is “The Group also expects to report a significant expansion in gross margins to in excess of 67% (FY 2017: 62%) driven by portfolio optimisation of both products and services. Additionally, EBITDA before exceptional items is expected to be positive and ahead of market expectations. The Group cash balance of not less than £25 million is also well ahead of expectations, as a result of higher gross margins, cost discipline and a focus on debtor collection.”
If this is met or exceeded we should see a rerate. Imo the current sp malaise is due to our two institutional investors reviewing their positions here. I agree that Abcam will revisit as it’s a good fit and they need to be accretive to achieve their growth objectives but I don’t think HZD is as soft a target as people think. It has a good BoD and is delivering. It is surprising at how often a stock drops ahead of a bid. I remember many years ago getting stopped out of NPE only for a bid to be announced in the following days. Trek, looking to add here.
Not so sure the company is doing that great. I suppose it all depends on what you think is good. With revenues of £50 odd million a year, you’d expect some profit and not loss making. There are no signs of be oming profit making either in the forward forcasts.
As i said earlier, asset value is 112p per share and being loss making you’d expect the sp to be lower than the NAV price unless an offer is in the pipeline.
Technically, is hasn’t improved either with the chart showing a downward trend still, double bottom and a lower low, it all indicates the sp is going lower.
Bought into these again seems the price is going lower yet the company is performing well. My buy is the 3330@ £1.4988
42 trader, I Agree with you about Abcam. I think they will be back with another offer as Horizon seems to have very good potential for future growth and either Abcam or another company may want to get them at a reasonable sp.
If either Dr Milner or his wife buy more, I will be adding for sure.
The charts show nothing decisive and very hard to predict any likely movement.
The share is clearly in a downward trend but last month hit the bottom of a weekly trend line in the 140's. This could be hit again or it could of been the bottom.
There is major support at 155p and 127p. On weekly stoch is oversold but not the RSI. Neither are oversold in daily chart.
Book value per share for the company is approx 112p.
I personally think Abcam will come back with another offer. I think the previous offer was only rejected to save a prison sentence for Dr. Milner. I will hold of buying yet though and set an ambitious target of 127p for my first entry. Whether I get it or not, who knows.

Ill look at charts tomz, but im not impressed by the results. They show big percentage increases but its a poor show imo.
When hzd bought Dharmacon they reported it having revenues of about £36.7m, EBITDA of £5.4m for year ending 2016. Why have the revenues decreased since hzd ownership of Dharmacon?
Final results for year ending 2017 showed group gross margins increased to 62% but still the company is loss making.
Gross margins now increased to 67% but no sign of hzd going into profit yet.
Still plenty of cash to play with which is a bonus but i really expected hzd to become profit making after the Dharmacon aquisition.
If Abcam decide to make another offer it will be interesting to see if Milner loads up again which will now not be an ilegal act.
Going to hang on in the hope the sp drops a bit more then I’m adding. Full year results are not due until April 29th.
Which should be above market expectations going by what the company has said so room for good move upwards.
Nice sp in the right direction. Let’s hope it hangs on till next results thenit should push past 200.
Yes may be OTC deal which would make sense, I didn’t notice volume spike though but may still have been on open market. Wish they’d just get their heads together and transfer whatever number of shares at a mutual price as then I think we’d be off and Abcam could get in one bed! Trek
Value capital adds 4% for institutional investor.
Yep there we have it, holdings RNS, woody selling probably to cover up abismal performance elsewhere. I thought the results weren't bad. Trek sticking with the numbers as value will out.
Could prove a very good move esp if Abcam come again. Imo sp being forced down now for just that. Look at all the ALGO trades on LSE designed to panic peeps into selling to build up liquidity. The results were fab this fall is not justified imo. Trek cynical or prescient time will tell.
Sold half my Abcam to get back in. Very good price in my opinion and good company to boot.
From our relatively new non exec director....
Margarita Krivitski, incoming Non-Executive Director at Horizon Discovery, commented: "......I look forward to working closely with the Board and management team as they execute their strategic plan and drive long term value creation for all stakeholders."
Be nice to see that reflected in the SP soon. Trek
Well there’s a surprise some hefty sells today. Could be poor old Woody selling his winners to cover up elsewhere yet only down a penny? Probably a competing order being filled. Really happy to hold and add here in next ISA season. Trek let the numbers do the talking and value will out.
Stonking! Really exceptional. I can’t see anything not to like with beats across the board. Should be a good day today but wtfdik! Trek
Either way will probably be a big volume day as VA have added and Woody has reduced but both been sat on their hands of late. Interesting few days ahead. Trek
Good luck to all those who are invested here, for the trading update tomorrow. This is now valued below previous bid price of 181p per share by Abcam.

Lots of large sells today and sp goes up. Trek boggled
Could do with some ops news get us going before finals in May. Not sure if the BoD know where the RNS button is! Trek
Seems to me a very good time to buy and hold.
No idea what is happening with sp as been sd all volume and sd all news. Don't see brexit making much difference as we work to EU, US medical standards that are pretty much set in stone. Trek sticking with convictions
RNS options, long term incentive plan, joke! £2 for FA. I have no problem with options that are performance related and transparent like OPTI or SAVP have in place but some of these AIM director deals are just a nod and a wink. It's no wonder jor public have a bad impression of some of these deals. Trek, huff!
Now VA have increased their already significant holding. Amazed sp not reacted but that's AIM. Feel under the radar here with little PI interest. Trek
