..maybe some camels too, could helps to brand oil to ME clients.. still no y or n.
that's like 3ml in 1000 litres, or a 'styrene cup of oil in a 6" 2.5 mile long flowline +/-
<30 ppm assumes all kit was fully operational. Promised 100% oil by HUR. Patience - we all will get confirmation with 24 hours...
aqua ........agreed , bit of a disconnect from poo today ,although from 8.00am Brent only up 0.8% . Bit of a lacklustre day all round really , my 3 stocks are all down and HUR doing the best...summer vacation malaise .gla
Anyway, the tanker will not be collecting water, unless they are getting around $60 a barrel for it.
She will, again IMO be out to the AM conducting Field Acceptance Trials, DP testing, hose and connection checks etc - basically a dry run and coupling but with no fluids passed between the vessel, and certainly not collecting water.
Foresight, sorry, I do not wish to brag, but sometimes I have no idea what you are talking about. I have listened and participated in many meetings and conferences and been twice to Holland where the dutch really do not speak at double pace.
If possible, simple clear speech does contribute far more information.
F22, if you are suggesting that the FPSO actually went to the WoS without the "kit" to allow produced water disposal being fully operational meaning that we now need a tanker to get rid of water - then I think that is one of the most unlikely thing that I have read on the BB since WizardTaffy predicted a Volano erupting and sold out.
Also you state "we will know within 24hrs" - really, I would hazard a bet that there will be no official announcement and the only way that we will know within 24hrs is by seeing where the tanker heads to next - with her belly either full of contaminated water ready to be offloaded, or full of Oil ready to be offloaded or still empty ready to be filled up.
Just IMO, but WTFDIK.
FS22,
" Down the road - water disposal well would be best practice."
There's already a big 'water disposal well' available. It's called the ocean. This talk about a shuttle tanker coming for a load of produced water is nonsense.
Nowhere in the ES does hurricane moot water disposal via tanker. Total red herring.
...well SN and AM are definitely lined up to mate. Told at AGM all certificates done preFOIL. Nonsense solved by tomorrow..
How about a small wager F22. If we can ascertain from next movement, loser pays £50 to other's chosen charity?
I will raise it £500, and my position is that's it's not offloading water anywhere. :-)
...can see why so many gamblers betting on HUR, a company that seems to have not even recruited a Subsurface Development Manager! ..how were they planning to write a FFD? ..if mating for more than 4 hours - certainly will be interesting. BB should be focusing on LC... y or n still not clearer.
Found this in a PDF for PMO - references Stena and VOC emissions. Could it be venting gas?
http://www.premier-oil.com/premieroil/dlibrary/panda/PRA-157-Solan-EIA-Justification-MAT-B19-V2.pdf
5.4.1.4 Venting from shuttle tankers during oil loading
During the loading of crude oil onto the shuttle tanker, VOC emissions (principally CH4 and
Non-Methane Volatile Organic Compounds (NMVOC)) will be produced, with the potential
for associated impacts.
VOC recovery packages are not fitted as standard on UKCS shuttle tankers; however,
Premier have three tankers which will alternate tanker offload duties at Solan: Navian
Oslo, Stena Natalia and the Scott Spirit, all of which have VOC recovery packs fitted. The
VOC recovery process is based on the direct absorption of VOCs in a side stream of the
loading oil. Using this process the oil containing the absorbed VOC is re-mixed with the
main oil-loading stream.
Cebo,
"I will raise it £500, and my position is that's it's not offloading water anywhere. :-)"
The whole idea's absurd. We've had three tanker offloads. If this one was coming to take water (as if an oil-tanker would do such a thing!), it would mean the EPS has suddenly started producing at least 20% water.
The company is legally obliged to issue an RNS for price-sensitive news. It Lancaster had started to produce water like that, it wouldn't just be price-sensitive, it'd be a bloomin' disaster.
I dunno how these people can dream up such daft ideas.
nen2319,
"Found this in a PDF for PMO - references Stena and VOC emissions. Could it be venting gas?"
No, not related. Interesting find, though.
You know what I'd like to hear? A message from Amaja that this tanker's returning to Rotterdam with a further load of crude 'cos there wasn't enough space on the AS for everything the AM's got on board.
Just a passing thought...
"it would mean the EPS has suddenly started producing at least 20% water. "
Oh, and that the AM was unable to process the water well enough to simply dump it overboard. Which would be another massive (RNS-able) problem.
Cebo mentioned Wizard Taffy's volcano, but I think this story takes the biscuit.
Interesting posts from Aduk. Did cross my office workers mind that the size of last weeks shuttle tanker was called into question. Could it be that because of tanker availability, we have 2 smaller take offs (including of course a near additional weeks production). Unlike other things in life the size of your shuttle tanker does matter......
'One well at 50% duty of 8% cut would produce approx. 42K bbls of produced water. The capacity of the slops is 48K bbls.'
..still mating.
FS22, I'll take that as a "no"then? Suggest you download the EPS-ES, I have posted links to my copy several times, it's almost a bible, it has been so accurate in foreseeing the implementation and Hurricane Energy has followed it to a tee - apart from one thing, but that's another story.
...first company in UKCS to go 'zero discharge', now that would be impressive. HUR do have money to burn now - not that the SP reflects that.. Be interesting if SN then heads off to Shetlands.
Haha, we now not only need a bigger boat (FPSO) we now apparently need a bigger shuttle tanker FFS. Some peoples imagination is getting the better of themselves now.
They offloaded all the Oil that the AM had produced (by all accounts close to 450k barrels, unconfirmed) last weekend.
The current tanker will not, NOT be unloading Oil, Water, Gas, Diamonds, Gold or any other substance, it will be out there, IMO, conducting routing trials - probably before moving to one of the other BP FPSOs WoS tomorrow to do a full offload. EndEx
F22, jeez, I can't believe you're dragging my maths into this argument.
Tough crowd in today!
;-)
FS22,
" 50% duty of 8% cut"
What's that when it's at home?
Not for the first time, I think you're working to the old adage of "If you can't blind 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullsh*t".
