So it has been Jupiter who has been the persistent seller though I expect SC has been too which explains the very poor sp performance over recent weeks. However they cannot just say below 5% they have to give the exact figure unless below 3%. I trust HUM will reissue the RNS accordingly
Good. As expected the seller reveals themselves eventually. Often the TR-1 comes when they're done (but not always). With any luck the shackles are now off (or will be soon).
Looks like a mistake drice - not listed on the Hummingbird major shareholders page now (which probably means they're below 3%) and that's what the RNS should have said.
That will be good news if they are below 3%
Why have they got 50m more shares than when they had 5.67% ?
Some people seem to be mis-interpreting the Jupiter RNS because of the change in total shares in issue.
When Jupiter held 5.67% of share capital there were 354.9mm shares in issue ... subsequently there have been a few hundred thousand more share options exercised taking the cap to 355.3m. All Jupiter have done is reduced their holding from 5.67& to below 5% ... so they've sold 2-4mm shares. Every time a share holder with >3% of total capital increases or decreases their holding such that they breach a 1% threshold they ave to notify the market ... that is all that is going on, no mis-information deliberate or otherwise.
The thing we need to be aware of is just how many options the company issues ... that could dilute our holdings if it gets out of hand ... for now I'm very happy with HUM being the biggest position in my SIPP - I think it has much further room to increase in value, but please dyor
RetiredBanker - They have to notify every 1% above 3% but the Hummingbird page no longer lists them. Which it should if they're still above 3% and they have to give a percentage if it's above 3%, which they didn't, so it seems most likely the TR-1 RNS is wrong and they've gone below 3%. They could be holding zero shares now for all we know.
Hi retired banker,
So from 6th July (when Jupiter held 5.67) and 13th of August, you’re saying 400,000 share options were exercised?
Looking at the Rns’s that sounds about right, one each of: 45,000, 174,000 & 250,000 as far as I can see! So those numbers aren’t the number of shares they own but the number that are in issue?
Well yeah....just read the column headings :p
Cheeky buggar! But yer that would help haha
Just had another look and I think I must have finished off the end of that title above the 355m to mean it was the shares owned by the ii and I would guess that I wasn’t the only one! Making excuses I would say I have never really paid that much attention to Tr-1’s before other than the name of the fund/person and whether the percentage went u or down! Good to know a little more though! Thanks for the enlightenment ??
That should have been smiley face at the end of that not ?? Clearly doesn’t like emoji’s lol
$1982, just gone ballistic.
Not gone that high on my screen (peak was 1973 and a bit). You looking at futures rather than spot price?
Yes sorry Rich, it is for Oct settle.
Up to $1976 now. So might get there anyway ;)
Metals in general going very well today. Fingers crossed.
$1983 reached already. The bull is rampant.
Still miners stocks not making the gain's that they should have with the price of Gold so high and sustaining such a high price. Not withstanding the positive looking future story.
Looking like futures will break through $2000 today with momentum positive.
The market often seems to jump into the bigger miners first (despite the inflated P/E's)...but that's quite handy as it let's you add things like this with the knowledge of the gold price prior to the SP rise :)
Heard that before, but no history of the time lag. Any idea?
Hi Nglnv!
I think this may well jump up tomorrow.
It's hard to make sense of the current share price considering the price of gold (and the amount of cash Hummingbird should be making). This really should be in the 40s, not the 30s.
Hi Tiger,
agree but I have give up trying to make sense of it. It frustrates me to much. I just except I know nothing and try and be happy in my ignorance. Easier to do now I am back in the black. Not by much but it all counts.
