getting emotional here so to all of us ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AVOpNR2PIs
yep will join twit and stox, hargreaveslansdown & TD direct are two which deal with GWPH . . .
1% is norm, 'shareprice' do it for that, but i cant really recommend them as they are smallfry, but ive had little trouble with them, some of the bigger ones throw fees around like no tomorrow.
Just talked to iweb where I hold some. There're a couple of forms to fill out, one sounds a bit heavy regarding tax but will put this in front of my accountant when it arrives and feedback to all. One thing Iweb will charge me 1.5% fee to convert the trade from dollars to sterling which is annoying. Been with GWP for many loyal years, left feeling today that my loyalty to them has not been matched by their loyalty to us. I just wonder if the Americans were getting annoyed that as sterling collapses we got a natural increase in our holdings. From a greenhouse on Salisbury plain to the bright lights of America its been a journey, but I'm still in and intend to keep going on this adventure.
cheer freddie ;) i'm on twits, 'insidertrader' use a double wink as code :):) then i know its an lse dude :)
The nice post was to king by the way
Nice post i havent sold yet but wish i did first thing as i was so tempted to !
Sadly ive sold all of my long held aim shares but will still keep eyeing this place as I have done since way back and valued the chat but not done much myself:). Will anyone be using the stocktwits as users from the UK? Maybe could form an ex ISE club:) Incidentally, I asked my Halifax folks why I cant see gwph listed on their website to purchase US shares and they said they dont deal with them? Anyone know a service that does trade gwph via UK?
nice sentiments King, same from me to all you lot, thanks for the posts, as ive mentioned before, been much help to me . . . thanks and GLA
ok, so in case anyone is leaving for good i just want to say, thanks, its been fun, and i wish you all well for the future big shout out to the Doc, bob, olga for the debates and fun, and stevie / freddie for actually talking to me, when no one else would ;) i genuinely wish you all the best, and hope i have been of some use to some of you. one day, we will have legal weed, and that is my last prediction. but one chunky kit kat goes to the Doc.
well, cant say for sure, though they have planned to do this for a couple of years. my gut feeling is that if a buyout really is gonna happen we would be over $200 by now, certainly not dropping like we are.
Just a thought but if gw is purley dollar based come December does that make it easier/less complicated for a US drug company to effect a buyout?
k K cheers mate, thinks i ok,as already have nasdaq shares, having filled out the W-8BEN form, exempt from tax, i think ? but sod it sold 70% of my holding anyway, freaked . . . . . perhaps buy in cheaper later wish i'd put this money into CGC . . . . there's no stopping that outfit atm.
contact your broker about changing aim to nasdaq, if that is your plan.
ffs
contact broker about what exactly Kingskin ? Soz am a bit overwhelmed by this, should have sold yesterday @ 870 ish . . . :(
might be wise to hurry up, looking like we could drop to 800 today, but i could be wrong.
Broker? Don't have one of them. Just phoned up my bank back in 2001 and asked how do I buy shares? They put me through to someone and a deal was done. Might sell up before Dec to avoid this getting complex.
contact your broker
yes, see below, they will be converted, you will pay an FX fee when you sell and be liable for tax
http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-gw-pharma-delisting-idUKKCN12J0GY So do I have this right? All my GWP shares that are on the AIM will be converted into GWPH shares on the American stock exchange? How do I actually flog these if they're not in the UK? Am I liable to American taxes now? Complete novice here as I bough in at the start "To help the cause" and never do any share dealing. I have no clue what to do about selling them as only just managed to work out capital gains tax. Help!
i think i agree freddie, the big thing is tax, if you dont take profits from aim, you will be hit by tax on nasdaq
Thanks KS, that makes sense.
But we now know nothing will be announced regarding take over this year now so only gonna go one way in my view , and of course will be hard to trade after dec , time to get out and stay out maybe
