Hi oiltap
What exactly was colombos advice, hopefully we will see a slight increase as pretty much all markets are down today. Do you know how long after the drilling we will expect to see the results along side the helicopter survey? Why is this still ongoing
Well that was deep
Billy0813:
What good do you think an email to Bird would do? In the last few months, too many people have seemed to hang on to his every word when, in essence, he appears to have had his own secret `roadmap`. "Good Old Birdy", (loved by all) has always seemed to be doing no wrong and, despite his apparent shenanigans, convincing most that vast wealth was just around the corner.
I have no doubt that, inevitably, there will still be some around here who will continue to number-crunch, with more seemingly convincing figures proving that today`s bombshell was just a minor setback - but nonetheless necessary in the greater scheme of things.
Inter alia, I asked a question here within my post of 22 Feb . . . "Is there anyone out there who would like to go firm on a likely timeframe when GLR will finally start producing . . . . one month, 3 months, 6 months - I do wonder?". I will now amend that question slightly and add . . . "or never".
Changing tack somewhat, there were many who scoffed at Columbo`s frequent inputs around 6 months ago, warning to anyone who would listen to tread carefully here. His comments/forecasts/advice were accurate, yet I have no doubt that they went ignored. Let me add my own advice . . . . . . . Do not trust Bird. He is a 77-year old man who has seemingly lost a lot here. He lives in the UAE and I have little doubt that he will do all he can to financially feather his nest in order to enjoy his remaining years in the Middle East.
That's nonsense about the copper, sandfire would not have invested if there was nothing there
I'm sorry to see that my concerns about Star Zinc have been proven correct. As a long term holder, I've gradually learned to interpret Bird's pronouncements (or lack of them) ever since the Concordia fiasco. Simple rule of thumb - when he's upbeat, take it with a pinch of salt; when he's silent, duck and cover. We're now back to a jam-tomorrow scenario, which is where Bird thrives, dropping seemingly lucrative hints, dangling enticing prospects. As it happens, I'm still about 40% up as a result of selling at 10p (when he went silent on Concordia last time round) and slowly buying back in. I feel sorry for those who haven't been so lucky. As a result of the latest nonsense, I now see this as a trading share which at some point will spike again owing to some Bird-esque RNS hot air before collapsing back exhausted. I can't honestly see it a genuine investment any more. Expect another jam-tomorrow project when the KCB plan collapses and Ka****u turns to dust.
(BTW, the explanation of the retreat from Star Zinc is preposterous. Was he not aware that there were schools and homes in the mining area until now? Perhaps his next investment was to be in a child-friendly explosives company.)
I am totally upset about this. Has anyone tried emailing him who he has a relationship with
Iky,
My concern is majorly focussed around the comms issues rater than the outcome itself. I can understand that CB may not have been able to get the licences and deals in place to get maximum value from SZ. I do not believe remaining quiet after being asked about a mining licence application on our assets was appropriate.
To be open with folk - I first invested in August, I took some prophets at the end of last year, reduced again at the start of this year, significantly reduced again during the period I was discussing SZ risk on here and sold most of the rest this morning. I now only have a small holding. I find the company interesting and KCB looks like it has great potential but whether I reinvest or not will depend on what the KCB progress looks like but also more importantly if I think the comms issues have been resolved.
I honestly believe CB is in a rush to get drilling and prove the copper in the ground while copper is hot. Zinc is not hot and the sale price should mean no dilution for now. We will not think about the Star mine if/when we find we have copper in abundance. Sometimes you have to focus on the prize and in GLR's case it might be worth quite a lot.
I just hope cb knows what his doing... this so reminiscent of the past which only lth can understand. Call me negative, don't really care to be honest, think today's rns should tell people what I always said be careful.
Personally think cb knew about this long ago, recent activity/research from the brilliant people on here put him in a position to come out in the manner he has, he could have easily mentioned all this before imo but needs/needed kcb to be a starter... am I making sense? I don't know but I AM NOT happy right now ( was ok in the morning) but hey will still hold, well i have to. Gla
