Ok I have considered my position and stated it. Let me know when you've finished yours. The good news for anyone considering the stock today is that it doesn't yet impound, in my opinion at least, the current or near term level of operations readily achievable.
On the larger issue, first and foremost, some people don't like the answers. And yet they can't challenge the analysis in any substantive form. That's their problem. Most often those who have cried foul the loudest are those least likely to provide any form of informative post of their own. I don't need to motivate them, particularly when any form of realistic, rigorous analysis is dismissed as a scheme to talk the stock down. (It's not.) So who pokes who? To take your "serious business" analogy for a moment, you will appreciate the very first job of a new manager is review his/her team and to consider who to motivate and who to simply 'let go', that wondrously understated phrase we use for 'kick out the door'... Have a good evening!
Today's price looks tempting as a future platform.
Not for tomorrow necessarily, but for the next few months...
I'm currently considering my position.
On the larger issue, my irritation with you is borne out of frustration that you can't relate to the other bb members without using your disparaging, dismissive tones.
Do you not see how you are alienating swathes of bb members by using your condescending language?
Why is it necessary?
"And yet he steadfastly ignores p12 and p15 of that same presentation which describe the Field Development possibilities and their potentially transformational impact on GKP over the coming years. Particularly when they are self funded."
Hi Straycat. In reference to the above, no I don't. I'm just not prepared to set a valuation today that impounds much beyond 55k (which is a milestone that is yet to be reached). That's me - for now. As and when we get better visibility that may change. As Highlander1970 is apt to remind us, there's been a long history of not delivering against expectations here. I'm sure management will find their way eventually through the challenges but given the juncture we find ourselves at today I will take a wait and see approach for now.
Tell me, now that I have given you my answer, how much do you think one are prepared to pay per share today for opportunity beyond 55k? What percentage does that represent in your own price target?
Hi C0ckeye,
Good to know you're still alive and kicking! HNY.
I'm anxious not to be part of any developing conspiracy theory regarding PUTUP.
And I'm also anxious to avoid dismissing all PUTUP's content as irrelevant. It isn't. Some of it is interesting.
But it is always viewed from the same prism of arrogance, disdain and insults for any dissenting view. Like he's on a mission. And that's not right.
He is financially articulate, but to what end?
Many of his posts hang around interpretations of p26 of a 2020 powerpoint presentation entitled 'Shaikan Production Sharing Contract- Summary of terms'.
And yet he steadfastly ignores p12 and p15 of that same presentation which describe the Field Development possibilities and their potentially transformational impact on GKP over the coming years. Particularly when they are self funded.
Many shareholders are still very interested in those possible outcomes which make the R factor an irrelevance.
And yet still yield significant ongoing cash flow benefits for investors culminating in further shareholder returns via dividends and buybacks if the oil price continues to develop as it has over the past year.
What an exclusive Club we might become.
And it makes you wonder why he ignores these possibilities. Not his brief? Beyond his scope?
He claims to have been part of a much larger concern. And he may well have been. But so was I.
And that's why I'm confident he has never spearheaded a serious business simply because he could never sustain the trust of his team imo. Not using his bullying rhetoric; never. He could only ever frighten his subordinates.
I've run a serious business and there were several of his kind at my disposal; well paid Grunts who did the opinionated financial leg work, the excel spread sheet propositions to enable the Grown-Ups to take the significant strategic decisions.
Board members with belief, commitment and vision; people moving as one.
Because some people can't be trusted in the field of commercial battle; you never know when they're going to stab you in the back.
Hello Straycat. Happy new year and all that. He clearly has. Why would he be here so frequently if he believed the uplift in value of this company, thus his gains, are going to be relatively modest from here on in.
This is the point where his given role to be here and his back story collide, leaving debris scattered everywhere.
Blocked over a year ago nothing more than someone sent to disrupte the board.
Apart from insulting anyone who doesn't subscribe to your point of view, what do you intend to achieve by your ridiculous posturing PUTUP?
You're running out of road pal; it's just that you can't see it.
I'm coming round to the point of view that you have been 'planted' in our community...
So many of you are right, he has clearly been sent here by unbeknown others to 'manage' expectations. Whether those others are anything to do with, or connected with GKP, its PR representatives or other external forces, we can only surmise, but just like anyone who is 'at it' and attempting to manipulate, they eventually tangle themselves up in their web of deceit.
His tales of rubbing shoulders with HNW individuals and having such a large stake here, yet relatively insignificant in his own portfolio simply doesn't add up to the time he spends here and his slavish commitment to this bulletin board.
He clearly has knowledge of the game, but anyone who was independently wealthy would have a 1001 better things to do than spend their day, evening and weekends here. So he's clearly employed or incentivised by others. Now using a classic trick of dropping his already conservative valuations in the face of improving conditions, bother internal and external.
The very best thing you can do if you feel he is likewise a shill, is rid yourself of any curiosity of what he has to say, as he'll specifically be attempting to make you so, or refrain from being antagonised by his click bait, and pop him on block.
If you do this you'll starve and frustrate him from what he is attempting to achieve. If you don't you are playing right into his hands, and those behind him, and potentially damaging your investment.
Do it now. Takes 2 secs.
