Tricky i'm using mobile but trying. I cant remember the name of the miner(begins with F) is it Fortescue?
Applegarth thanks for that if you could dig them out and post a link or something because i,d love to read that.. cheers
Tricky....i agree with your sentimentd ie 'All this chat about RIO from last year.. I would have thought that if RIO was any way looking at Newcrest they would have started moving into it or something. why wait for a year'
Well nothing moves fast in this sector but i suspect (if Rio were eyeing up the Paterson range) they would tread very carefully and any such approaches will NOT be formal offers but cofidential talks to lay down initial 'interests'. It might well have been the case that Rio were late in securing licences and now have to deal with NC in a subtle but meaningful manner. "Prove up those GGP licences, then maybe we can talk further"
Only saying, however it wouldn't be the first time that Rio lost out to a minor operator here as i recall another small company got 7 licences (by doing a sharp deal with the Aus Mining Authority) under the 'nose' of other majors letting the grass grow under their feet. GH got most of our licences the same wsy and literally for peanuts before most of the majors knew about them. I'll try and dig out the article?
All this chat about RIO from last year.. I would have thought that if RIO was any way looking at Newcrest they would have started moving into it or something. why wait for a year and nothing. so maybe there not or maybe in the back ground they are. I cant see Newcrest selling anyway

Newcrest advised by Deutche Bank to move into gold by an all share buyout of Newcrest.

It’s like a children’s play area at times. I guess all ages can invest but y do we have so many here that r still living with mummy and daddy?
Paterson Project - MMI Results from Scallywag Target
Greatland detects copper, silver, gold and supporting pathfinder elements in first round of MMI sampling over large Scallywag target
Greatland Gold plc (AIM:GGP), the precious and base metals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce results of Mobile Metal Ion ("MMI") sampling over the Scallywag gold and copper target.
The Scallywag target, located within the Company's 100%-owned Havieron licence, consists of several magnetic anomalies over a large area of approximately 6km by 4km, each with the potential to host gold, silver and/or copper mineralisation. MMI sampling over the Scallywag target was completed in late Q3 2018 and the results are reported below.
The Scallywag target was selected for the first phase of a new exploration programme in the Paterson designed to test the multiple regional targets, many with a similar geophysical signature to Havieron, that were identified by a review of regional geophysical and geochemical data conducted last year by Greatland (see announcements dated 13 August 2018 and 17 August 2017). Greatland's first drilling campaign at the Havieron target (6km east of Scallywag), returned excellent results including 121m at 2.93g/t gold and 0.23% copper from 497m (HAD001).
Highlights of MMI sampling results:
· Copper, silver and gold MMI responses detected along the western parts of the target area over a strike length of approximately 6km;
· Multiple pathfinder element responses (including arsenic, cerium and lanthanum) were also detected along this trend with several clusters of samples displaying a strong multi element response;
· Highest results returned from MMI sampling included 2750ppb copper, 8ppb silver, 0.4ppb gold, 50ppb arsenic, 480ppb cerium and 280ppb lanthanum;
· The grouping patterns of certain elements, as seen in the MMI response over parts of the Scallywag target, are similar to those patterns seen in MMI and drill assays from the Havieron prospect.
Further interpretation of MMI results from Scallywag will be carried out in conjunction with detailed aeromagnetic and ground gravity data to refine targets prior to drill testing.
Gervaise Heddle, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "We are very pleased with the results from the first phase of our regional exploration programme which have reinforced the potential for Scallywag to host copper, silver and gold mineralisation. Scallywag represents a high priority target for further exploration given the large size of the target, its relative proximity to Havieron, and its potential to host the prospective basement sequence under relatively shallow cover at probable depths of aroun
Agree Paddy we should all scan over previoud Rns'. Any skeptics would soon come to the conclusion that GGP have imo obtained some pretty good licrnces. It's no wonder GH said in one of his interviews "Why the share price is not a lot higher is baffling"
Agreed Jersey,
People need to relax - read back over the old RNS's and watch/listen to the interviews.
Havieron is going to be the short term but I'm as excited for the first drilling campaign at Scallywag - hopefully we might get an update soon on the plans for that. Look at these excerpts from two old RNS
Havieron MMI Results from 6th December 2017 - https://polaris.brighterir.com/public/greatland_gold/news/rns/story/w6ek0gr
"Peak MMI responses over Havieron were 4ppb silver, 70ppb arsenic, 25ppb gold, 834ppb cerium, 710ppb copper, 53ppm iron, 284ppb lanthanum, 860ppb lead and 112 ppb uranium."
MMI Results from Scallywag Target from 23rd October 2018 -
https://polaris.brighterir.com/public/greatland_gold/news/rns/story/xpyvo3x
"MMI results from Scallywag display discrete elevated gold, copper, silver and arsenic MMI responses along the western parts of the target area over a strike length of some 6km. Supporting pathfinder elements of cerium, lanthanum, iron, lead and uranium are also coincident along this trend with several clusters of samples displaying a strong multi element response. Highest results returned from MMI sampling were 8ppb silver, 50ppb arsenic, 0.4ppb gold, 480ppb cerium, 2750ppb copper, 33ppm iron, 280ppb lanthanum, 240ppb lead and 335ppb uranium. Response of certain groupings (or suites) of elements over parts of the Scallywag target are similar to those seen in MMI and drill core from the Havieron prospect."
Nearly 4 times the highest Cu response from Scallywag as Havieron and it is a much shallower target.
It's easy to see why RIO will be keeping a close eye on proceedings here - GLA Paddy
Time after time I notice that when there is no news for a few weeks to disect, there is a tendency to turn on each other. Is this really necessary?
News coming very soon so have a little patience with each other please.
