WHamBoy - regarding the use of "the company". In following so many cases I just use "the company" to refer to FRC, the parent entity, and to separate it (at least in my head) from other parties such as FIC, FRGC etc. So "the company" is just one of the many entities that need to be followed. Filings and motions always talk in the 3rd person so I think that has rubbed off on me.
I agree it's good news this case has closed. Whilst it was expected given the settlement in the Federal case, it is good to finally get the confirmation. That leaves YA to be dealt with and which the company are very confident they will prevail. In the other major case and if precedent is anything to go by, the settlements in the Hope Federal case should bode well for the FIC v SN case given Hope's role in the case.
So the Mourant Case is closed - good news. Another one chalked off 😄. And YA make a new move, a last desperate attempt to have their foreign judgement recognised. Hopefully the judge will continue to agree with Frontera. Thanks Looed. We seem to be moving closer to a result here.
On a separate question, can I ask why you now almost always refer to our Frontera as “the company”? Is this to avoid confusion between our Frontera and Zaza’s Frontera ?, or has “the company” asked you to do so? No problem if you can’t answer this - it just struck me this evening for the first time as something relatively new😄.
Following on from the FRC request for a hearing on the recent YA motion for summary judgement, the docket has changed slightly to accommodate the request with dates now showing as -
04/09 - YA submit their Motion for Summary Judgement
06/10 - Hearing on Trial on Merits
09/10 - Hearing on Motion for Summary Judgement
The parties have settled the case. There is no filing as yet, just the notation on the record that parties advised the court of settlement 25/08.
A research company, USA. Stresses the importance of Oil and Gas.

If FRR comes back it may be sensible to hold on and not let go
to sharp practice speculators. LNG most precious energy.
FRR a Super Star? For all of us and Guru RR.
Recently, YA informed the court that they intend to submit a “Motion for Traditional and No-Evidence Summary Judgement”. The motion is docketed for submission on 4th September. This is the third time YA have sought some kind of default judgement in this case.
The company have now requested an oral hearing on this motion citing “The issues involved are too detailed and too important to both parties to be considered on submission.”
We should find out in a few days if the court takes up this request for an in-person hearing and if it affects the schedule.
Dates as they currently stand –
04/09 – Submission of YA Motion
06/10 – Trial on Merits
Happy days then
Yes my bad I only realised on arrival and was heading West after I’d finished, which was earlier than I thought. There may be another time in the near future and I’ll give you a heads up here when I do
Pity I did not know you were coming would have been happy to meet up with you
Fascinating thanks Dulwich, it’s certainly maintained it’s rural charm. Long may it do so
Whilst acepting the importance of Uncle Sams representative in trying to use their influence in the area. This is such a sensitive area in geopolitical terms it would be good if we actually knew what the others were up to and there attitude is (under instruction from their Governments) ESPECIALLY the UK representative. The pressures on Georgia are immence with real threats from both China and Russia and possible/percived threats (in diplomatic terms) from other Countries.
My own perception is that Georgia at the Government level simply does not know which way to face at present which always results in stagnation in terms of alligments. Georgia wants inward investment but from whom and when? As far as we are concerned (and leaving aside our own little difficulties) Big oil and gas do have experience of operating in challenging areas but more so in the past, it will be all about present day risk assesments which may sound negative however the balance is the BP did invest in the huge gas interconector which is not fully utilised and is not that far away form us and they did the the OK to just pour the gas in as it was clean enough to not need much processing (others wil have the expertise on this). I have often though we as share holders should actually find out what the attitude of our Ambassdor actually is! on paper at least one of their roles is to support UK PLC and the UK still has a large interest (and skill base) with BP and Shell (and others) moving away from their excessive green policies and of course they are sitting on a pile of cash.
Hi JME. Baically yes. Charles Dickens who was a regular visitor descibed it as Londons green oasis. The area was until recently all leasehold properties but now under the Athourity of the Dulwich estate (similar to the Grovnosnor estate). It was puchased by Edward Alleyn in 1609 who founded the education charity and basically set all the ground rules for the managment of the land. They give away about £12,000,000 a year mainly for education but other good deeds as well. 11Mins by train from Victoria yet 300 acres of ancient wwood land, golf course, and vast areas of sports fields. The Art Gallery is stunning and very valuable (formally the polish royal collection - it was donated!) I could go on as I was born and educated there and still live there but going Dulwich College the history was rather rammed down my neck! As a bit of fun as a kid I was sick all over perhaps the most important first folio of shakesperes works! It was just lying around in the school libary -how times have changed- have a pint in the crown and greyhound in the village (known as "The dog") In truth it is how most of London was until the advent of the Railways a series of villages surounded by farms. I can still remember the last farm just now a council estate on the edge of the estate.
In Dulwich today, is it always this quiet? Slower pace, quite like it
So why haven't GOGC or the Georgian Govt or whoever leased out any of the returned acreage? Seems strange to not bring in other players with proven exploration skills and funds.
WHamBoy - From the slim pickings we can see, we can observe that they have been cooperating. The company already offered to do a deal on this case, as revealed in the Federal case filing. Though M.O. appeared to initially decline that offer we know the parties soon settled the Federal case. Important as this case is, it is the YA II and the FIC v SN case that we need to see some positive action on.
Thanks Looed. I very much have all my fingers and toes crossed.
WHamBoy - if the case has settled (as the FRC v MO case did) we might only see a joint motion to dismiss or a motion for continuance if they still haven't reached a deal. Unlike most of the other cases we have been following, the filing history in this case is, for the most part, cooperative between the parties.
Typically, filings are posted on the day or up to 48 hours after the filing date though they can sometimes be posted before the required date. Keep in mind that not every filing is posted on the public record but if the case is settled, I am sure the court will post the news.
Looed- are you expecting a flurry of court docs before Monday’s court case?
Hi Jekyll - sorry for not making it clear, but when I said "award some land" I was referring to some of the so-called "99%" returned lands which are out of the hands of the company.
Would much rather sell to BP-Shell BHGE i doubt Block would have the money for such a valuable asset, and could possibly be out of the frying pan and into the fryer with them.
Thanks Looed, keeping the hope that “All thimgs bright and beautiful , all companies great and small”

Hi Lifeishard - The new ambassador does have some form in merging US and EU interests on energy policy.
Block do seem have a good direct relationship with the GOGC and indirectly via their partnership with Georgia Oil & Gas Ltd. OMV Petrom is another O&G company that seem to enjoy a healthy relationship. Let’s not forget the company have also spoken of their now “constructive” relationship with the state agencies.
Given the proximity of Block to the original B12 there might be a case for the GOGC awarding some land to Block if they can successfully expand their own production operations (and if they would want it). Earlier efforts to sell the remaining asset, the "1%", at least those that we can see on the record, failed. For example attempts by the FIC liquidators to sell on / terminate the PSC.
Njames for 4p a share why not
