Air Tanzania to operate Dar es Salaam – Harare – Lusaka – Dar es Salaam service from 22FEB19 with A220-300, 3 times a week. Harare and Lusaka both previously served by the airline until mid-2000s
Fjetcrazy, Much to my loss (big loss) I've been in Fjet since the very beginning, however, of late there is virtually no information re developments out of the company. Today the shares increased by 10% but no RNS any ideas why?
Absolutely , very much hand in mouth, Mozambique taking a mahoosive bashing with the entry of Mozambique Ethiopian start up and Zimbabwe whilst doing well has its cash stuck in Zimbabwe, as for news on SA startup let’s wait and see what the cost of the get out clause for the ATR72 final costs are, add this to who will pay the monies owed in TZ which caused an E190 being impounded, add to this the cost of the E190 lease satisfaction and i doubt if there will be any change left for an SA start up anytime soon
fjetcrazy, I misread the tweet as I thought they were going to a reduced seasonal schedule rather than only be run during specific seasonal events.
I was also hoping for more of a growth story for rump fastjet (Zim & Moz) or news on FedAir in ZA, as that might improve the investment case, at the moment still seems to be very much a hand to mouth existence and so I shall continue to stay away....
These flights are now cancelled and will re run over seasonal periods only next available are a short series over Easter
What is happening with Fjet? Does anyone have any news as to how they are doing?
Very quiet on here. Is it a new year's resolution to to one's depression to one's self?

To all the investors past and present who have been shafted by the Tanzanian Government. The Joke of open skies and calculated and deliberate plan to de-stabilise and collapse the competition by any means is a disgrace.
The losers apart from us is surely the Tanzanian People who can look forward to higher prices and reverting to the poor level of service, now that the competition has been knocked out of the ballpark.
We can only hope that Mozambique and Zimbabwe are the springboard for Countries that want us and want their population to benefit from our presence.
I hope that the Tanzanian Government get voted out as I am sure that they will have destroyed any possibility of any Countries risking investing in such a corrupt and without morals Government.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow investors – especially those from way back to the Winter days! – and dare I add, a Happy New Year with all we wish for ourselves?

How have the leases been satisfied on the two E190 when one is held by TZ authorities until payments made to suppliers and the other unknown since it went to Nairobery

Fastjet (FN, Dar-es-Salaam) has suspended all flight operations until the end of January after the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) ordered it to cease ticket sales and submit a suitable turnaround plan within 28 days.
In a statement, the TCAA said the low-fare airline did not possess any aircraft of its own and therefore did not comply with the terms of its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC). Fastjet Airlines Tanzania relinquished its two E190s to lessor GECAS last week as part of fastjet plc's exit from the low-fare airline. Since December 7, it has been wet-leasing a B737-500 from Africa Charter Airline (FSK, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) to run domestic Tanzanian flights exclusively.
"The Directors of fastjet Tanzania are in discussions with the authorities regarding the continued operations of the airline," fastjet plc said in a statement while highlighting that fastjet Airlines Tanzania is a separate entity, independently owned and operated, from fastjet plc Group.
As previously reported, Tanzania's former Home Affairs minister, Lawrence Masha, raised his stake in Fastjet Tanzania from the previous 4% to 68% after he bought 47% of the company's shares owned by locals and 17% owned by fastjet plc. The remaining 32% is held by South African Hein Kaiser.
According to The Citizen, the TCAA has also called on service providers to submit claims to Fastjet Tanzania. The regulator said it itself was owed TZS1.4 billion Tanzanian shillings (USD606,000) for the provision of services, including security.

Fjet TZ was purchased with landing rights not aircraft, still scrambling to purchase fjet PLC remaining stake
Apparently financially-embattled Fastjet-Tanzania is nonetheless expected to acquire new Boeing 737-500 planes as part of its revival plans, the company’s executive chairman, Lawrence Masha, has revealed.
This somewhat surprising announcement was made just a few days after the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) grounded the company’s only plane on account of debts owed by the airliner to its creditors. Consequently, the company was forced to suspend its scheduled internal flights
Speaking on a Clouds TV 360 programme on Wednesday (December 19,2018), Mr Masha said the plane is expected to arrive “in the next three days.
“After taking delivery of the first plane on Saturday, we expect another two Boeing 737-500 planes to increase our fleet – thereby resolving the flights cancellation challenges which the airline has been facing lately.
“All the planes we acquire will be registered in Tanzania – and, as the air travel demand grows, we expect to acquire one or two more Bombardier planes,” he said.
Fastject-Tanzania had 45 per cent of the air travel market share in Tanzania before it was hit by a financial crisis in recent times. It is already struggling to revive its services and regain the public confidence it had temporarily lost after some seven years of operations in Tanzania and beyond.
“We are in dialogue with the authorities, including especially TCAA, to allow us to start selling air traveltickets once again, as we have fulfilled some of the regulatory requirements and are continuing with the dialogue,” he said.
Arrival of the Boeing 737-500 plane will enable Fastjet to restart operations on its regional routes, including Dar es Salaam-Johannesburg, and Dar es Salaam-Nairobi. It will also enable the airline to revivfe its domestic schedules to and fromSongea, Dodoma, Bukoba and Arushausing the new Bombardier plane.
Despite cessation of the company’s services, all its employees were nonetheless paid their December salaries in advance and efforts are continuing to pay products and services providers as due – as well as paying debts to the regulator.
Mr Masha said he expects to meet with strategic investors from South Africa, China, Malaysia and India who have shown interest to invest in Fastject-Tanzan

update on facebook
Fastjet PLC Group Head Office (Johannesburg) has today reassured its customers that flights on fastjet Zimbabwe and fastjet Mozambique are operating as normal, providing reliable services on the respective route networks.
Following the suspension of flights by fastjet Airlines Ltd (Tanzania), all flights to and from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique remain unaffected.
In Tanzania, fastjet Airlines is independently owned, following a management buyout from the group’s parent entity earlier in 2018. The Tanzanian airline announced on Monday 17th December a temporary suspension of flights, following a 28-day notice from the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), requesting reassurances from the airline that its air services would continue to meet TCAA requirements; failing which the TCAA would be forced to revoke the Tanzanian licences.
The following flights operated by fastjet Airlines Ltd (Tanzania) have been placed on hold pending the airline providing the necessary assurances to the TCAA.
· Dar es Salaam to Mwanza
· Mwanza to Dar es Salaam
· Dar es Salaam to Kilimanjaro
· Kilimanjaro to Dar es Salaam
· Dar es Salaam to Mbeya
· Mbeya to Dar es Salaam
· Dar es Salaam to Harare
· Harare to Dar es Salaam
· Lusaka to Dar es Salaam
· Dar es Salaam to Lusaka
All other routes operated by fastjet in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique remain unaffected and, in fact, fastjet will be launching new products and services in 2019 as part of its plans as Africa’s affordable airline.

Break free, I agree that FJet has cut the cancer buy selling FJet TZ FOR $1 and dumping The buyer Mashable with the debts. However, FJet UK is still in very poor shape. Nico is culpable for buying the 3 ATRs before getting approval and the having a fire sale to get rid of them. Furthermore he has money trapped in Zimbabwe and can only get to it by trading/bartering with other companies and banks to convert it to $ At a huge discount. He need $ to pay the bills.
When FJet UK run out of cash Solenta will buy it for 1$ I believe. IMHO nut I will leave other to make up their own minds, I just blame myself for having wastes 30k on a dream that has turned into a nightmare.
Yeah well serves Masha right for making it hard work for fastjet holdings. At least fastjet uk are out. Hey maybe Fastjet Tanzania will have a fire sale to try and pay some debt off and fastjet holdings will pick some bits up cheap. Absolutely no sympathy for Masha. Move on.... our company has plenty of opportunities ??
