Politicians are driven by corruption, back handers and promises of future jobs ;once they are removed from power. Evraz plc is an innocent company who traded on the alleged bona fide london stock exchange.
But will our shares that have been locked be released??
But a peace deal is coming soon and our shares will be unlocked!
Logic is not used by ur politicians! Do not try to think about it! Oversea aid by uk last year £13,000,000,000! Money given to Ukraine to stop Donetsk being Russian £4,600,000,000! Is there nothing in ur country that needed this cash???
Of course it has relevance - Evraz was making the point backing up your claim about foreign investment in Russia which is pretty minimal.
As a comparator foreign investment into the UK is over £2 trillion.
So I still dont think Uk money invested in Russia will have any impact on the lifting of sanctions, which are still highly unlikely.
That has no relavence here, because it has nothing to do with your initial completely bogus statement.
'Yes I do, you're just spouting biased rubbish that has no bearing on the true situation, to make some childish point that cannot be substantiated by the reality. Otherwise why not do some research yourself (remember you said that was so easy) and post facts.'
OK let's phrase this a different way. Do you think $80bn as a country's total foreign inward investment is a large amount of money given it represents the market cap of a singular large US public company?

Poroshenko was recently stopped from leaving Ukraine. No elections were held! Priests have been arrested!
People within Ukraine may hold the key to a peace deal for Donetsk and a ceasefire.
The West marches for peace in one place while sending bombs to another!! WTF!!
You know the point I am making.
You are being a pedant.
It won’t make this come back from sanctions any quicker if at all.
Fiserv is the 100th largest company on the S&P with a valuation of 78.39B
So out of 33.2 million companies in the U.S. you propose the the 100 largest is in fact the "average" .
LOL!
"Jotom - just simply look up valuations of the S&P500.
It's not that difficult surely?"
"$86bn is the size of a reasonable average US company."
"According to the U.S. Business Administration, there are 33.2 million American businesses in 2023".
Anybody would know that the S&P 500 is exactly that, A list of the 500 biggest American companies. These are far from the average. Last time I worked it out the average between zero and 33.2 Million is not 500.
Maybe you should have looked up this yourself before you posted your propaganda.

"These amounts for funds like black rock are chicken feed. They've most likely got hedges against those losses as well if they are doing their jobs properly."
“BlackRock funds hit by $17bn in losses on Russian exposure.”
This is due to the war markdown. Hardly chicken feed, they will want to get that back in some way.
The fact that russ1a has more money tied up in London than vice versa protects the UK's investments in russ1a as russ1a has more to lose.
I do wish that people who blurt out around statements like "$86bn is the size of a reasonable average US company" showed some facts to back them up from time to time.
Wow / add all up ! Way over 500B$ worth of assets

These are not large amounts though Evraz.
$86bn is the size of a reasonable average US company.
Russian investments are not material in terms of the western capital markets.
Those amounts have most likely been provided against.
An Analysis i did some weeks ago and the sources (just an element of the iceberg)
Amounts invested in local Russian business and bonds:
$86 billion
The value of Russian equities held by foreign investors. Roughly $150 billion was held in Russian bonds and stocks by foreign fund managers, according to Moscow Exchange data reported by Financial Times.
https://www.investopedia.com/articles/basics/11/investing-in-russia.asp
Western companies operating subsidiaries in Russia:
Western companies that have continued to operate in Russia since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine have generated billions of dollars in profits, but the Kremlin has blocked them from accessing the cash in an effort to turn the screw on “unfriendly” nations.
Groups from such countries accounted for $18bn of the $20bn in Russian profits that overseas companies reported for 2022 alone, according to figures compiled by the Kyiv School of Economics, and $199bn of their $217bn in Russian gross revenue.

Here one example :You can download the norges bank pension fund list in summary:
52 positions in Russian Companies on Moex
2 position relating to Poly and Evraz
Examples of such positions:
- 0.96% of all Evraz shares
- 1% of Gazprom
- 2.35% of Poly
The holding is massive!
The amount frozen of foreign governments come on top.
I assume that the investments in cash, stock, funds, bonds, assets, subsidiaries will be well above 500B $ value.
Some larger foreign cash/bonds reserves from other nations are also frozen in Russia.
So there will be a need to get a conclusion. Its unrealistic that all foreign businesses from the west will move out of Russia. All frozen assets need to get concluded.
This looks rather positive for us than negative. 2024 we see our conclusion arriving.
All shareholders of Evraz will be ok.
Have a great December - GLA
U will b buying Russian coal fertiliser gas and oil for many years as u lunatics have stopped producing what u need
Do u uk lunatics not know that 9 million tons of coal went to to ur electric grid lady years to charge ur evs??? Do u uk lunatics know how much lubricant oil goes into wind turbines and their gear boxes ! U r lemmings
They be far more Russian money in the UK than UK money in Russia.
London is swimming in it.
Other than Oil and Gas (which we are self sufficient without and are weaning off towards renewables at a pretty rapid pace) I fail to see what the Russian's have as a bargaining chip.
These amounts for funds like black rock are chicken feed. They've most likely got hedges against those losses as well if they are doing their jobs properly.
"It doesn’t matter because the UK government will never release this from sanctions.
Why would they let all that cash flow back to RA, Putin, etc?"
That's one view.
As has been seen many times though that moneymen are pragmatists, sanctions will end when it suits them. UK money is presently tied up in russ1a. Many far more influential than a few Evraz shareholders will want that released, but..
"LONDON, June 19 (Reuters) - The British government announced plans to tighten its sanctions policy against Russia on Monday, including introducing legislation to keep assets frozen until Moscow has agreed to pay compensation to Ukraine.19 Jun 2023"
And
"BlackRock has incurred a loss of $17bn on its funds exposed to Russian equities following the country’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, reported The Financial Times. The firm had more than $18.2bn in Russian assets at the end of January 2021. Majority of its funds are currently in limbo after the asset manager was forced to freeze them following the market crash and stringent sanctions announced on the country by the US and its allies.
BlackRock suspended all purchases of Russian assets at the end of February, after its holdings linked to the country fell to less than 0.01% of its assets under management. A spokesperson for the firm cited the markdowns as the reason for the change, rather than asset sales."
Time will tell. The UK will do whatever the USA does.
Not long before this unelected and unelectable uk regime is consigned to history, complete with all its corruption, back handers and complete void of how to behave with the uk electorate.
