Hi folks, cheers for the replies, apparently my wife does say I deliver her milk to quick, whatever that means. ??
Jarrovian sorry to say..filtered..you've used up my patience..
Im annoying myself but after 2 years we don’t really have anything left to discuss now. It’s all on the bod.
Dimitry and BOD get some news out ffs. It’s either tied up or it’s not and we know it’s a serious wait vs a few more weeks.
Thanks prismed
Wasnt sure so thanks
As for a special dividend refer to Prismed :-)
I'll be back for the back slapping on the day of 'THE RNS'
Until then, good luck all.
"I can't see the ex divi date being set in the past"
Of course not. It can't be set in the past.
Djenks, "Just hoping someone has a reasoned argument for a probable value." Plenty have shown their workings as to the value here. I can't sit here repeating it every day, but they are available if you look through the chat.
Wouldnt matter if divi date was in past or in the future its all about the price thats left when divi amount is taken off.
Thanks Mooching, Prismed.
It makes a difference because anyone can purchase the shares prior to the ex divi date and have a guarantee of getting the divi and on balance investment decisions now are based on whether you believe the divi + value of remaining assets is worth more than 20p (I do) - market isn't so sure.
I can't see how the RNS won't include divi value + providing certainty of value for remaining assets. Otherwise it won't be possible to value the company. It looks to me that recent RNS's are very much aimed at providing some certainty that there will be value post the asset sale and the board will want to be certain that the SP doesnt disappear off a cliff.
Skippy.
If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend. ... The stock would then go ex-dividend one business day before the record date.
From LSE rules:
A special dividend subject to an offer becoming unconditional in all respects (UIAR), will be marked exdividend two business days following announcement of the offer becoming UIAR, (if the announcement is
made before 8.00am), or three business days following, (if announced after 8.00am). The date the offer is
announced as UIAR will normally be the record date
So it looks like the minimum of 2 business days for Ex after the RNS. The share price will instantly rerate anyway.
How can a dividend be paid in the past, how would the registrars know who own what amount of shares.
...and just in case anyone is thinking they will get in at pre-divi prices when the RNS lands...you have ZERO chance. You will either be onboard or standing at the quayside waving a hanky.
Skip - I've not seen ex-dividend being set as the past before. Not even sure if that would follow AIM rules.
As frustrating as waiting is for some of us. Its a real question.
I can't see the ex divi date being set in the past so I'm wondering if anyone with better knowledge that me can foresee the divi date being set in the past as per the original question.
It makes a big difference.
I think the ex-divi date is irrelevant unless you are scalping or expecting an alternative offer to come, as the price will instantly re-rate to include divi value. But, as is the main theme of thread, where do we think remaining asset value will be then and will those updates be published at the same time or otherwise?
To be honest it could be as time feels like its going backwards at the moment waiting for info LMAO.
This is an interesting discussion thread.
My thoughts are that surely the ex divi date will be set in the future. Do we think it's likely that it would be in the past?
Hi djenks
Random question, are you the fastest milkman in the west?
Please ignore otherwise

thanks Mac, was just going to reply along the same lines. yes we have alot of conjecture at present, but there is little doubt in my mind that the value is not probable to the BOD and the interested party.
Djenks, for me it's not how much the divi is, it's when?
The probable value is of a asset sale DJENKS, you have to work that out yourself for MT+Flanks -

The SP is totally irrelevant in this situation because it's not a full company buyout. The divi will be done on the value of that asset disposal. Both the buyer and Eurasia will have done thorough asset valuation calculations and will have had their own 'landing window' brackets. Due to the nature of the present and future PGM and battery metals market however, the competition for securing that type of asset by buyers will have been very fierce and a bidding war is almost a 100% certainty during the FSP process that they ran via UBS.

With there being no realistic expectations for the value of the special dividend, how can we even start to speculate on what it’s payout will be, especially with a SP @20p.
Just hoping someone has a reasoned argument for a probable value.
